Oxycodone and gabapentin

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone and gabapentin

oxycontin

Avatar m tn I am not really familular with the dosage of the buprenorphine and gabapentin. However 120mg of oxycodone is a huge amount are you planning on taking that doge all at one time? I take 60mgs aday 15mg every 4-6 hrs. Plus I am on fentenyl patches 100mcg every 72 hrs. The best Idea is to speek with you dr to see if the change can be made watch how you word the questions drs dont like to be told what to do they would rather think its they are the one to come up with the idea. Good luck.
Avatar n tn ve tried gabapentin several times in addition to being on oxycontin and oxycodone (and some other meds at the same time.) I did find it helped with the pain but I had a bad side effect in that it made me slur my words (to the point people thought I was drunk and I don't drink.) Also, you cannot stop it cold turkey due to a seizure risk but it's not like you have withdrawals like you do with narcotics. I would also make sure you see how it affects you before driving.

Avatar f tn I had a Maligram two years ago they hit a nerve, the pain ran down the right hip all the way down the right leg and into my r foot, it thru me over the table, I am on Lyrica, gabapentin and Oxycodone, my back surgeon wants me to take Norco, but the primary has me on Oxy, 5/325 Norco 10/325, I want to wean myself off the oxy, so if I took oxycodone one day and Norco the next, would there be a reaction?
Avatar m tn I was taking 100mgs oxycodone a day for chronic back and knee pain, 900mgs gabapentin also for chronic pain, also 3(7.5mg) zopiclone at night to sleep and 1.5(7.5mg) during the day to sleep. I have stopped the oxycodone cold turkey with bad withdrawals, now at 13 days. My question is can I safely stop the zopiclone cold turkey or do I need to slowly taper off it?
Avatar m tn I am 31 and have been diagnosed with RSD/CRPS and it is very painful and it all started with a football injury in High School. I am trying to see what other people with the same condition are receiving for treatment and it is working for them. I am currently on 40mg Oxycontin 3times a day and Oxycodone imm realease 30mg 3 times a day, Baclofen 10mg 4 times a day, tramadol 50mg 6 a day, Vitamins of all kinds, testosterone injection once a week, Naproxen 3times a day, Trazadone 150mg at bedtime.
681148 tn?1437661591 ve noticed for the past week that the sensations and the pain come and go. I rarely take the Oxycodone but still need the Gabapentin on the prescribed basis. I hope this information is of some help to you. Please ask me any relevant questions that you think I may be able to assist you with. I have a follow-up with my doctor Thursday and if I have any information that I think may be of use to you, I will send you a post. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I must delete what I wrote to you before...... I had read the article before. I live in Belgium; and they can't help here....so, I went to London, England and no help there, Holland...... Israel..... My only chance would be USA. I have been prescribed most of the medications in the list and mistrust them all now.... I check out every medication now by the internet....Unfortunately, most of these meds don't notify as side effect TD. Impressive, huh?
Avatar m tn that is a very high dose and you will have problems coming off of it cold turkey. I would go back and talk with him and tell him you need help reducing your dose. they make the patches in smaller doses. that is the way he should be taking you. Let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I tried the gabapentin and it spiked my blood pressure.
Avatar f tn I have now maxed out on 3300 mg gabapentin daily. Also using lidocane patches, tizanidine for spasms, and now 10 mg oxycodone. I had one injection in L5 disc herniation. Did not work. Now waiting till July 14 for injection in S1. If doesnt work then another mri then surgery. This has been going on since April 3. Got hurt at work. Im a Cna. Im about ready to give up. The nerve pain feels like Im being skinned alive. If anyone knows anything that could help please let me know!!
Avatar f tn My pain regimen includes the Fentanyl patch which I wear for 48 hours along with oxycodone IR for breakthrough pain. I also take Gabapentin, a muscle relaxer, valium, an anti-depressant, and OTC Aleve. The latter list of medications are known as adjuvant medications which help the opioid medications work more effectively.
Avatar n tn I take Gabapentin. Its non narcotic and doesnt give you a high. It works by blocking nreve pain. It is needed to be taken everyday as it only works if there is a constant steady amount in your system. I have been pain free most day. Stress and overdoing it will cause a flair up, but most of the time I am functioning 100% better.
Avatar f tn ve taken gabapentin on and off for years for nerve pain. I took it along with oxycodone and other narcotics I was on, but it was all prescribed and I wasn't abusing any of them. Gabapentin is a serious medication and you definitely shouldn't take it unless you're under a doctor's supervision. It was initially used as an anti-seizure medicine. And if you stop it abruptly, it can cause seizures.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lyrica and had every side effect listed and then some, was then put on gabapentin and while less side effects, they were still severe enough that I couldn't continue. My doctor then switched me to Cymbalta. Cymbalta can be prescribed for nerve pain or anxiety. That has helped immensely. NOTE: when the pharmacy switched to the generic, I had similar psychological side effects similar to those from Lyrica and Gabapentin (confusion, stupidity, suicidal thoughts,...
Avatar m tn then she asked me how the pain meds where working, (they had me on 10 mg of oxycodone and 300mg gabapentin per day)so I told her the oxycodone helped very little , and the gabapentin did nothing but make me sleep all the time.
19965699 tn?1487511518 I got off of as much medicine as I possible could. I was taking oxycodone, gabapentin, and fentynal patches, 2 muscle relaxers, sleeping pills, and anti depressants. The idea was to feel better... since I always felt the pain, and felt "muddy." Especially gabapentin. I ONLY take Ocycontin 20mg x3 a day, 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) 1xdaily as needed, and Lidoderm patches. I also use a TENS unit, sometimes for hours! Am I still in pain? YES!! But it is livable!!
Avatar f tn It has grown bone from my spine to my hip and is forcing one of the rods up and out. Seen multiple surgeons locally and sent records to everywhere from Cleveland clinic to Vanderbilt and no one knows what to do. I have an extreme amount of pain from this to the point of needing assistance to get out of bed. I have 70% nerve damage in my leg from this as well that's where gabapentin came into play. I can live a decent life with the meds. Keep my grandchildren etc...
Avatar f tn I'm on my 6th day off of oxycodone 30s 6x/day!! For 3 yrs straight. And believe it or not with the help of gabapentin 300 3x/day and a few tramadol there and there, I didn't feel no withdraws at all. It took it away 100%. Now ob day 6 and I feel so happy that I'm off those blue devils!! Thank you gabapentin!!
20816447 tn?1527987648 I was doing fine then he started lowering my meds. He put me on 1 60mg of morphine er and oxycodone 15mg every 6 hours. My pain is horrible and put me back in bed. I told him that I'm hurting so bad again now and at least with the morphine er twice a day and oxycodone 15 mg I could at least do some things. Again he wants to even lower me more to morphine er 30mg once a day and lower my oxycodone to 10mg every 6 hours.
Avatar f tn ve tried almost all of them. Gabapentin is my favorite. Clonidine, Trazadone and benzos helped me sleep. Then there's Imodium and the Thomas Recipie. Those items will get you through without too much discomfort, but ..... What's you're plan to fight this long term? If you aren't determined-enough, it's all for naught.
Avatar f tn in a coma and a week after coming home I was found having a seziure with 104 fever, pneumonia. Since I have been home I have weaned off Oxycodone, Gabapentin, and all other meds for pain except the 60mg Kadian. I have had nausea and vomiting every day since I have been home. We split the Kadian to 30/30mg and I am still sick. I am hoping it is the Kadian that is making me sick. Even though I have taken it for a long time with no side effects I can't think what else it could be.
Avatar n tn My question is this, if I have to choose between either being crazy and not sleeping, drinking heavily, or taking oxycodone, which is the best way for me to go. Here is a list of the things I've tried. hypnosis, acupuncture, manipulation, herbal remedies, councilling, the Jasterboff program for treating tinnitus, neurofeedback and neuro-stimulation, hearing aids and probably some more I can't remember now. Too many ENT docs to list.
Avatar m tn Ok, just got back from PM and he perscribed me Oxycodone HCL 15MG and wants me to try those and see him in 2 weeks. I will let you all know how they work and thanks again everyone.
Avatar n tn I do take two naproxen 220 mg along with one one 10 mg oxycodone IR tablet and two 300 mg gabapentin capsules in the the AM when I wake up. Oxycodone is a little bit stronger than Vicodin. But I agree with the first poster that you need to contact your pharmacist to make sure the combo is OK for you to take as everyone is different and you may have underlying medical conditions that would make it an unsafe. choice for you.
Avatar n tn I take 120 mg of Cymbalta, 3200 mg of gabapentin and 90 mg of oxycodone a day. it is not enough, what can I take over the counter that could help in addition.
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed me Clonidine (an old blood pressure med), and it usually helps I suffer from chronic pain and took Gabapentin out of desperation, as well, and things calmed down, Keep going, we can do this! .
1094993 tn?1261415009 This pain seems to be getting worse and none of the pain killers I take does a thing for it. I take Opana ER and oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Sometimes it feels like my entire body is just aching all of the time. Its quite disappointing, as I feel soo much better after my surgery! If only I could figure out what is causing this pain. My doc also put me on 600 mg of Gabapentin 3 times per day for nerve pain.
