oxycontin

Avatar f tn That will boost the strength of the oxycodone only when you need it, and not cause you to be taking an overabundance of unnecessary Tylenol. Hope this helps.

573297 tn?1304709140 Does anyone have both dx and yet their pdoc doesn't believe them? I got diagnosed like 8 years ago I think (kind of don't remember...the exact time) but now this year I get dx of bipolar and my pdoc doesn't believe I have fibromyalgia...I know I have the pain....and it feels like it is coming back, and if so this is the fourth flare up (one lasting two years, one lasting 6 months to a year, one was three months because of the depo-provera shot) what do I do to get taken seriously?
Avatar f tn Hi all- I am a 27 year old female suffering from a very severe case of fibromyalgia. It has left me bed ridden for weeks at a time and when the flare ups are bad nothing works. I have prescriptions for morphine and oxycodone but on bad days they don't touch the pain. I can't do massages because the fibro pressure points are too painful to be touched.
Avatar f tn Basically, I just take Oxycodone and stretch my knees out. I wish this pain will go away, but I know it will never will. I try not to think of the pain. It eventually will get better.
Avatar f tn I was stupid and changed my date on my prescription and my dr found out. I was let go whats the chances of me getting another pain dr. I've got fibromyalgia, DDD,thinning in my padding in my spinal cord. She fired me and I've been on 15mg of oxycodone. Dropped cold turkey its killing me and I'm scared what can I do. Will i be ably to get another pm dr?? I know i screw up but my pills were stolen from my daughter.
1351082 tn?1479840132 I've been on 10 mg of oxycodone for 3 yrs for fibromyalgia then shingles and now brest cancer but it stopped helping my pain so my dr put me on the morphine er and now I only take may 2 oxycodors a day if that. How hard us it to taper off the morphine I don't want to stay on them long just long enough for the pain to calm down from my cancer treatment.
Avatar f tn Tramadol and oxycodone belong to the narcotic analgesic group and are given for severe fibromyalgia. Narcotic analgesics block the transmission of pain signals by binding to the opioid receptors in the central nervous system. The actions in the central nervous system are also responsible for side effects such as sedation, respiratory depression and intoxication. Using narcotic analgesics for a long time increases the risk of dependence. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I was referred to pain management from my neuro and my new pmd is sending me for a urine drug screen. Reading from my paper, I'm being screened for Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cannabinoid, Cocaine, Opiates and Phencyclidine. That's it. And they are not using a gas chromotography to test for opoids. For those of you in pain management, is this just a baseline type screening, or are they digging with those?
Avatar f tn I have been averaging 3 tabs of 10/325 Norco a day. I take it for numerous reasons...spinal stenosis - but it helps all of my arthritis. I stopped 2 days ago and hurt all over...I do this even when on the meds sometimes but the meds will pull me up. If I increased to 4 a day I am fairly pain free. But my Dr. won't do that so I am trying to just stop. I have fibromyalgia and I started with 3 tabs of 7.
Avatar n tn Yes I am on so many its scary!! I'm on Oxycodone, amitriptaline, omoprazole, sertraline, a water tablet amongst others. I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and have fibromyalgia and arthritis and also have a slipped disc. I'm slowly coming off of the Oxycodone but I have spoken to a specialist who adviced me to continue with the other meds.
5769649 tn?1373931353 t think i could live with out them!!with all my surgeries on my back and stomach ,fibromyalgia and crohns and cirr. of my liver i hurt all the time !!the pain meds just make the pain bareable !!
Avatar f tn My coworker took them her whole pregnancy her son is fine. I take oxycodone twice a day for fibromyalgia. I would say its ok but always best to talk with doctor about it.
Avatar n tn ve tried gabapentin several times in addition to being on oxycontin and oxycodone (and some other meds at the same time.) I did find it helped with the pain but I had a bad side effect in that it made me slur my words (to the point people thought I was drunk and I don't drink.) Also, you cannot stop it cold turkey due to a seizure risk but it's not like you have withdrawals like you do with narcotics. I would also make sure you see how it affects you before driving.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am a 52 yr old female and I'm new to this site. I believe I have an addiction to pain pills, specifically oxycodone 10/325 (or hydrocodone) . I have been on these for over 2 years now, started out slow of course. I had hadshingles and was given the hydrocodone. I liked how they helped the pain and made me feel better. My husband had had a stroke about a year previous to this and our life had changed drastically.
Avatar f tn I had a coworker who took them her whole pregnancy her son is fine. I take oxycodone twice a day for fibromyalgia. Oxycodone is way stronger when I first got pregnant I quit cold turkey but was put back on them just a lower dose. Doctors go to school for years they know what they are doing.
Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia and can only work three days a week with days in between and have to sleep 12 hours and two short naps during the days off. This year if I do too much during one day, my upper back spasms into a neck/shoulder pain spasm and causes migraine, and I am bedridden. The only thing that provides relief is a hot bath and codeine and 2 muscle relaxants and one gravol. It has only been that bad for one year.
Avatar f tn While in the hospital and rehab, he was on morphine, oxycodone and then mOxyContin and oxycodone. We did a very slow taper with him and he had absolutely no withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn t take it away but make life a little bit easier. I also take Tizanadine and oxycodone for flare ups. In the morning I start taking Savella the new Fibromyalgia medication. My Rheumatologist gave me a four week starter pack of Savella today. I'm really nervous to take this medication because both Cymbalta and Lyrica were horrible medications for me. The side effects scare me. Suicide, nausea, vomiting, bleeding problems, rashes, etc. and I do mean the list goes on and on. Wish me luck.
Avatar f tn My 1st Neuro and my 1st pain doctor did the 10/325 but my previous PM did the oxycontin and oxycodone (over prescribed - actually a GP) who shouldn't of been doing pain pills. I think the DEA agreed as he is no longer practicing. My new PM is getting ready to give me Nucynta in 2 weeks. Something entirely new for myself.
Avatar m tn 00 AM and along with it take a Percocet (Oxycodone) at 10:00 AM the answer is no, it is certainly not recommended. Ask the physician that prescribed both of the meds for you how he/she meant for you to take them. They are both narcotic pain medications. The percocet is stronger than the Norco. However that doesn't mean that it will work better. Hydrocodone works better for me than Oxycodone.
Avatar f tn 3 herniated disks in lower back, 2 in neck, fibromyalgia pain, and costochondritis pain in rib cage. But after a few years, the oxy blocks my dopermine in the brain, and depression sets in. I was on them once before and the same thing happened. I had to detox off of them in 2003 for the same reason. Took me 3 weeks cold turkey. This time Im weaning fast, cause I hate the depression it's giving me.
Avatar f tn I have cervical dystonia in my neck, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, and hidertitis supperteva (sp?). I had been taking 20 mg opana 2x day along with 30 mg Oxycodone 4x day. My pain management doctor changed my dosage this last month to 40 mg opana 2x day and 30 mg Oxycodone 3x day. I have been on opiate pain medication for about 6 years, pretty much continuously. My problem is that since the dosage change, it seems like the medication is not lasting long enough.
Avatar m tn Hi there and Welcome! I suffer from RA and a few other shoulder/elbow tendonitis issues. So, I can understand some of your pain. You are in a good place here at MH as there are many others who suffer serious pain. If you are ready to get off your opiates (or other meds) you are at the right place. You are on quite a few different meds and have many health issues, have you discussed this with your Doctor?
Avatar m tn My question is - I was on suboxone for the pain and it did not work. So I have a new doc appt next week, and am certain he will give me oxycodone. Should I go to a different pharmacy? I thought there is a central database where any can see that I just got subs filled last month. I plan on telling my new doc that I even tried them for pain. I don't want to get into trouble. It's been a long, rocky road with sciatic nerve pain, chronic back pain, and fibromyalgia.
