Avatar n tn Thank you all for your response!! The patient is 4 1/2, nothing but CBC, comp, and Oxcarbazepine levels were done. All were fine. I am not sure what the comp levels are but I am aware of what the CBC and oxcarbazepine are for. If it were lukemia wouldn't the WBC be high? I have joint problems my self and have been tested for lupus and RA, they were negative. So I don't think it would be that. Due to the fact it is mainly genetic.

5268376 tn?1406179712 If you seriously had any concern that the arrhythmia could be life threatening, go to the Emergency Room. Also consider phoning your family doctor and explaining your concern. I looked at Zithromax side effects, they vary by the dosage, single or multiple doses, doses in combination with another drug, and are listed as pre-marketing trials and post-marketing reports. Rhythm issues were reported less than 1% of the time in pre-marketing trials, and also in post-marketing reports.
Avatar f tn With all 3 of those meds, and especially Oxcarbazepine, you can find discussions online about amenorrhea, which means your periods stop. You might want to discuss this with your doctor, as websites suggest, if you're taking these medications and your menstrual period changes. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Have been taking Carbamezapine and lately Gabapentine, which both cause Erectile Disfunction. Have read that Oxcarbazepine does not have this side effect. Have not convinced my neurologist to let me switch meds. What success have people had using Oxcarbazepine for TN, and does it also cause ED? I don't want to use either carbamezapine or gabapentine if possible.
222267 tn?1253302210 I just started OXCARBAZEPINE. I am really sick. I am on 600mg at night. I woke up this morning with a headache and I have felt like I have the flu all day. I cannot eat or drink anything. I'm exausted. Does anyone have experience with this med? How long will these symptoms last? I have to somehow work tomorrow. I am getting so tired of being sick and tired. I'm not depressed. I'm just coming back from hell. I had major surgery. It made me have a severe manic episode.
Avatar m tn I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Avatar m tn Almost any medication, including OTC medications, CAM, and substances of abuse, has the potential to elevate serum aminotransferase levels. Common causes include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, statins (cholesterol medications), antiepileptics (seizure medications), and antituberculous medications. Then, the physician can prove the medication is the cause by stopping the medication and observing return of the enzyme levels to normal.
Avatar f tn I have had some on going health problems for many months now. I have had many strange things come up in lab work, on MRI's, etc. Recently It was discovered that serum copper levels are very high. 250,normal is 70-150. could this have anything to do with my thyroid? My TSH was checked in Feb. (2.75-normal),and an ultrasound of my thyroid revealed a small nodule on the left lobe. My father is currently battling thyroid cancer.
Avatar f tn csf fluid), but now I found out that my serum copper levels are high-250(normal range70-150). I do not have any hepatic symptoms. Avatar m tn Recent bloods show low serum iron levels, normal ferritin levels, normal red blood count and high in inflammation. What could be causing this? GP thinks it's connected to ETAP and intestine not absorbing iron, getting enough blood. Being referred to specialist. Not sure what all this means.
Avatar f tn My first question is regarding the HDL and LDL levels...is 76 too high for HDL? Should HDL number be higher than LDL? Avatar m tn i am all confused and when i told the doctor i will change medication only during vacation time so that i can moniter him. he said ok to that but since blood levels of valproic acid are 32 %(they have been 40% for past 8 years) i should increase the dose. all the literature i have read says that dosage is symptom related and not blood level related . any adv is v useful since i am very worried about making any change now. thanks all!
Avatar f tn Granulosa-cell tumors produce inhibin and its serum levels reflect the the tumor burden. Measurement of inhibin can be used as a marker for primary as well as recurrent granulosa cell tumor. The recent availability of markers of ovarian stroma, including melan-A and inhibin-alpha, has provided a means for the positive identification of ovarian stromal tumors, which can manifest in a myriad of histological appearances.
Avatar f tn Orally administered prednisone, in a dose of 20 mg each day for nine days, resulted in a significant decrease in mean serum TSH levels (p less than 0.01) without significant changes in levels of serum T4, T3, and thyroxine binding globulin (TBG). These findings suggest an inhibitory action of relatively low pharmacologic doses of prednisone on TSH release without changes in circulating thyroid hormone concentrations or inhibition of the peripheral conversion of T4 to T3.
Avatar m tn I'm taking Folic Acid 5mg per day for 1 month and i have to test my levels, should i quit taking it the day before the test ?
412873 tn?1329174455 Does anyone know the name for the condition that leads to elevated ammonia levels in the blood? I think it happens when the liver is less able to remove toxins from the blood and can lead to confusion and other symptoms. Thanks for any input.
