I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close.Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.

With all 3 of those meds, and especially Oxcarbazepine, you can find discussions online about amenorrhea, which means your periods stop.
You might want to discuss this with your doctor, as websites suggest, if you're taking these medications and your menstrual period changes.

so I look over this- i.e. [combination of Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg in a single tablet.]. If anyone have an idea about my requirement please share with me.
Maam, further to my query on 27/12/10 I would like to inform you that my dad is taking Oxcarbazepine Tablets IP ( Oxetol) 300 mg in the morning and 450 mg at night. But still facing problem of memory.Do you think the
tablets are correct for his problem. I have the report as well if I can scan and send you accross. Awaiting your reply.

I have headaches that cause blurry vision. I see these color blobs that move in my vision that shouldn’t be there, they don’t show any connection to stimuli so I don’t have synesthesia. I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped.
My doctor switched me to oxcarbazepine and that stopped the issue. The one extra oxygen molecule somehow helped the situation. Ask your doctor to make the adjustment and see if that helps.
Coadministration with drugs that are inducers of CYP450 3A4 may decrease the plasma concentrations and efficacy of buprenorphine, which is metabolized in the liver by the isoenzyme. In addition, some of these inducers (anticonvulsants and barbiturates) may have additive central nervous system-depressant effects with buprenorphine.
During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.
Have been taking Carbamezapine and lately Gabapentine, which both cause Erectile Disfunction. Have read that Oxcarbazepine does not have this side effect. Have not convinced my neurologist to let me switch meds. What success have people had using Oxcarbazepine for TN, and does it also cause ED? I don't want to use either carbamezapine or gabapentine if possible.
We make MRI scan and EEG reports which is available in Mumbai.Some report comes normal.Some report the problem tint in right frontal lob & other tint in Left frontal lob(MRI BRAIN,SPECT,PET SCAN,14 HOURS VIDEO EEG REPORT.No report can highlight spot.Physicians already tried Tegrital,Fresium,Lemitec kid,Levipil,Valparin.No drug can control seizures.In first step Doctors recognize seizures as gelastic type.At last they named it as Refrectory seizures.
I am allergic to it. (my rash is seen in my photos if you need it). For me, the side effects are worse than TN itself for me, but others have said it's life changing. Other people have listed Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine), Neurontin (Gabepentin), Elavil (Amitriptyline) and Lyrica (Pregabalin) as some alternatives.
I am currently on Lyrica + Cymbalta. I can't say that it's working but still playing with dosages.
He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this. My son loves to go out and dance and maybe has a couple of beers is the beer causing the seizures or is the body heat causing the seizure?
I adopted an 11 year old girl she has a prescription of -5.25 in one eye and -6.25 in the other. (An increase in prescription of about -.75 in each eye over the year before) How much worse is she likely to get before her vision stabilizes?? Is her vision likely to keep her from driving when she comes of age??
