oxcarbazepine for anxiety

I just found this post. Yes I take trileptal or also known as oxcarbazepine 300mg for about 3 months. 3 a day everyday. I know it's not long. The very first day I took the medicion I started laughing on it for no reason. I felt really happy and I didn't want to argue. I just wanted to sit around laughing and having a good ol time. And for several weeks same thing but sometimes I felt like I was dying to get out of the house and do something. Then in the third week nothing.

I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. I feel guilty that I am taking more tablets and my health condition is improved now. so I planned to reduce my tablet dosage. so I look over this- i.e.

I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close.Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.

I am not sure what the comp levels are but I am aware of what the CBC and oxcarbazepine are for. If it were lukemia wouldn't the WBC be high? I have joint problems my self and have been tested for lupus and RA, they were negative. So I don't think it would be that. Due to the fact it is mainly genetic. I did notice that when the lab drew his blood, it took about 20 minutes for the puncture to stop bleeding. Is that abnormal? When I took him to his dr.

With all 3 of those meds, and especially Oxcarbazepine, you can find discussions online about amenorrhea, which means your periods stop. You might want to discuss this with your doctor, as websites suggest, if you're taking these medications and your menstrual period changes. Best wishes.

Have not convinced my neurologist to let me switch meds. What success have people had using Oxcarbazepine for TN, and does it also cause ED? I don't want to use either carbamezapine or gabapentine if possible.

Yes I took Trileptal (the brand name of what you are taking) years ago. It didn't work out for me but not for the reasons you said. Some people have found it tolerable and effective. It is clinically related to Tegretol which requires regular bloodtests to monitor for loss of white blood cells (which does not often occur but still must be tested for). It rarely happens with Trileptal, unlike Tegretol but it can on occasion.

I have Clonazepam to take as needed, but my doc wanted to put me on an anti-convulsant med (Oxcarbazepine) - brand name Trileptal. It is for seizures, but apparently also used for anxiety. Anyone try this or something similar? SSRIs did NOT work for me, so this would be the next route. I have moderate to severe anxiety with symptopms of constant racing thoughts, feeling like I am looking my mind, the actual Panic attacks with the sweating, racing heart, thinking I am dying. etc..

hi my son aged 11 years has been on sodium valproate (valparin syrup) 6 ml twice a day for the past 8 years. he has had the same dosage for all these years and no seizures. once a year my neurologist makes him have a sleep deprived eeg that has been coming abnormal so he has asked us to continue the medication. this year he ahs suddeny asked us to chnage to keppra. i am confused now because this is rather sudden and my son is used to the valparin now and has no side effects as such.

I take Carbamazepine for ATN and have a new, rare reoccurring rash on my legs. My Dr. says they are not related, but when I researched it there were a few articles that indicated Carbamazepine could cause the rash.

During this Non-Psychotic episode I was put on Lamotrigine 200mg , Oxcarbazepine 600mg, clonazepam 2mg, citalopram 20 mg daily, This works just ok, but not 100% satisfactory for depression and also bcoz any kind of stress / anxiety tends to throw me into a psychotic state even while taking these medicines.

I believe it is caused by Biotin because I had a similar fit about three years when I stopped taking Biotin, but I did not see a link then; I got prescription Ativan for anxiety took it for only three nights and the problem went away almost instantly. I recently started taking 5000 mcg of Biotin again daily for about a week or two because it is supposed to be good for a lot of things, but I stopped about five days ago and I started getting bad anxiety again.

Within the last two months, I have been experiencing burning and pain in my right foot (including toes). I am taking oxcarbazepine, is this a side affect or does it mean I need to increase the dose.

I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?

i have been taking suboxone for months now and my Pdr. has been trying differnt Bi-polar meds on me and after many trial and errors he has put me on oxcarbazepine, after all the bad affects I have been through mixing other meds with the suboxone I am scared to go trough it all agin does anyone know if these two meds mix ok? During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.

My symptoms are that I am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and irritability since reducing my dosage of Trileptal this week. Backstory: I am switching from Trileptal to Lamictal over a long period of time. After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system.

Ok personal info first, 26 male, have grand mal seizures ive had them for over 2 years i believe. 1. medication im on is Oxcarbazepine 300mg 2. when im tired i get these spasms that really screw up my life. 3. i have a frectured shoulder which i got from a car accident before i started having seziures. Question.... is there anyway my shoulder is the cause for my seziures?? and if i get it fixed is there a chance i wont have seziures anymore?

mri showed nothing and after carbomazapine for 8 months had no symptoms apart from the odd twinge for years. for the last 2 months it has got really bad but would rather not go back on carbomazapine. Is this the best treatment? At the moment just using co dydramol though it just takes edge off rather than really helping. what should i do?

Since I am not sure what the branded names are for these in India, here are the generic names for the most common anti-epileptics for seizures of the gelastic type: carbamazepine, clobazam, lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine and topiramate. These medications rarely stop the seizures completely but reduce the frequency and severity of them. I hope this helps, my prayers are with you and your son.

I am currently taking carbamazepine for BP disorder type II, and I noticed it's getting hard to breath, l had the same symptom a few months back, went to several especialists but none of them found any respiratory or circular problem. It turned out to be zopiclone I was taking to sleeping. I am not taking zopiclone anymore. Now the only medications I am taking are carbamazepine for BP II and anti inflammatory for my sciatica. Any ideas?

SIR,MY DAD (AGE 60 YRS) RECENTLY HAD A FIT AND ADMITTED FOR VARIOUS TESTS.IN THE MRI FOLLOWING HAS BEEN MENTIONED " GLIOSIS IN THE RIGHT ANTEROR TEMPORAL LOBE. PARTIALLY EMPTY SELLA. FETAL ORIGIN OF THE RIGHT POSTERIOR CEREBRAL ARTERY" COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN TO US WHAT THE ABOVE MEANS AND IS THERE IN CURE TO IT. HE HAS BEEN PRESCRIBED TABLET FOR DAILY BASIS.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.

He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this. My son loves to go out and dance and maybe has a couple of beers is the beer causing the seizures or is the body heat causing the seizure?
