Avatar n tn Thanks to AAAMOMMY27 for posting info on the web site drugs.com. This is a great site for checking drugs that might interact with thyroid medications. Very simple to use.
5544493 tn?1369608788 ll need a typical or atypical antipsychotic (Seroquel and Abilify are both atypicals). Carbamazepine interacts with a lot of other things, and oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) seems like a better choice, even though it's off label. In the end, there's a huge number of meds that can be used in BP, and it really depends on the individual how well any particular one will work. Check out the crazymeds page (just google it) to see a lot of info on different options for BP.
Avatar f tn I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close. Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.
Avatar f tn With all 3 of those meds, and especially Oxcarbazepine, you can find discussions online about amenorrhea, which means your periods stop. You might want to discuss this with your doctor, as websites suggest, if you're taking these medications and your menstrual period changes. Best wishes.

222267 tn?1253302210 I just started OXCARBAZEPINE. I am really sick. I am on 600mg at night. I woke up this morning with a headache and I have felt like I have the flu all day. I cannot eat or drink anything. I'm exausted. Does anyone have experience with this med? How long will these symptoms last? I have to somehow work tomorrow. I am getting so tired of being sick and tired. I'm not depressed. I'm just coming back from hell. I had major surgery. It made me have a severe manic episode.
Avatar m tn I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. I feel guilty that I am taking more tablets and my health condition is improved now. so I planned to reduce my tablet dosage. so I look over this- i.e.
Avatar f tn My doctor switched me to oxcarbazepine and that stopped the issue. The one extra oxygen molecule somehow helped the situation. Ask your doctor to make the adjustment and see if that helps.
Avatar f tn I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?
Avatar m tn Within the last two months, I have been experiencing burning and pain in my right foot (including toes). I am taking oxcarbazepine, is this a side affect or does it mean I need to increase the dose.
Avatar f tn During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.

Avatar f tn According to drugs.com, the pill you found is ‘methocarbamol’ 750 mg; the link includes an actual picture of the pill: http://www.drugs.com/imprints.php?action=search&imprint=v+4212&color=12&shape= Also, from Drugs.com: “Methocarbamol is a skeletal muscle relaxant. The precise way it works is unknown, but it is thought to depress the central nervous system. It has no direct effect on the muscle.” http://www.drugs.com/cdi/methocarbamol.
Avatar m tn Have been taking Carbamezapine and lately Gabapentine, which both cause Erectile Disfunction. Have read that Oxcarbazepine does not have this side effect. Have not convinced my neurologist to let me switch meds. What success have people had using Oxcarbazepine for TN, and does it also cause ED? I don't want to use either carbamezapine or gabapentine if possible.
Avatar f tn I don't think it does, but I would check with your pharmacist just to make sure!
Avatar n tn Looks like it did.
Avatar m tn I usually go to drugs.com. they have a place where you can look up what you can take together and what you can't. It's where I go for anything I take. It helps, because you never know what will react with each other.
1302779 tn?1287405029 It could be permanent! It could be the result of another medication. See drugs.com for side effects that list items that even the doctors do not know about. This happened wit me when I was given Depikote. My wife had to help me walk down hill. I checked Drugs.com ind it indicated this problem. I told the doctor but she did not believe me but said to get off of it. I did and the symptoms disappeared.

Avatar n tn I had to do a bit a research on this one, but here it is: It is a Benzodiazepine, which is a muscle relaxant not a pain killer. A muscle relaxant for the treatment of muscle spasm associated with acute painful musculoskeletal conditions. (www.cbc.ca/news) The I also gleaned a lot of information from drugs.com. Hope I've helped.
Avatar f tn If you are just curious about the side effects of a medication your doctor prescribed, you can go to drugs.com and type in the drug for the side effects.

Avatar n tn Go online and look up any of tons of websites that will list this info, such as Mayo Clinic, Drugs.com, man, there are a ton of them. Just google the med you're taking and the med you want to take and ask if they are okay to take together. Your prescribing doc should also know this.
