I had knee surgery several years ago/started me on percs/then gave me tramadol. I remember asking BOTH the surgeon AND the pharmacist if it was A controlled Substance. Both ASSURED me No it was Not, and I do not really remembering catching any kind of buzz on it. . . . . Was not on it for very long. . .maybe a month????
Any thoughts?????? I need to educate myself if the professionals want to give it to me again in the future.

tramadol is neither a controlled substance or a narcotic or an opiate.
Lithium Orotate is a lithium salt containing lithium as a orotate ion not a cabonate and is sold by health food stores and more than a few shady online sellers as everything from a cure for depression to an alternative to normal medical treatment. There is a misguided belief among some that its more green and more natural than Lithium Carbonate which of course is hilarious as both are versions of the same substance.
I take Carbamazepine for ATN and have a new, rare reoccurring rash on my legs. My Dr. says they are not related, but when I researched it there were a few articles that indicated Carbamazepine could cause the rash.

Period 3-4 months late!! Very concerned please help
So I'm kind of nervous due to the fact that I haven't started my period. I started on January but I only spotted a little bit of blood and that was it. But February - April til now I have not started at all. I do get symptoms like if I am going to start my period but nothing comes down & now my breast are sore.
Might be a bleeding disorder like Von Willebrand's or hemophilia. PT, INR labs would be useful and maybe a hematologist visit might be a good idea.
I am only posting this because tramadol is not actually a narcotic( so they say) they are actually on the verge of making it a controlled substance. I was on a bicycle and was hit by a car and I stressed to them not to give me any narcotics because I was scared of being addicted again after I had defeated that demon. We'll let me tell you they don't get you as high as like a lortab or Percocet or oxy, but boy oh boy the withdrawals are just as bad or worse.
Well, clonazepam is a controlled substance, but not a narcotic, but I doubt you can return it since the standard industry line is that generics are the same as name brands and as one another. But people do report feeling different, so there obviously is some difference in metabolism. Most drug stores carry only one generic company they have a contract with. Actually, generally the Mylan is a better generic than Teva, which routinely is caught with poor quality issues.
I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. Shes right, Gabapentin is not a controlled substance, but it should be. A newer version came out years ago called lyrica. Same exact class of medication, same mechanism, and it IS a controlled substance. The only reason gabapentin is not is because its super old. No one can or wants to re-establish its status. I would suggest a slow weaning off of it over a month or so. Take your time and decrease the milligrams every 5 days or so.
lyrica is a controlled substance. from what it looks like, it can have effects similar to a benzo or barbiturate in a small percent of the population. i would say whatever addictive properties it may have, it's very slim compared to hydrocodone. it's a better question for your doctor. what i do know is that i've never actually heard of anyone abusing it. obviously that doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot. you don't often hear of my drug of choice being abused either...
t know where you live, but in the US, Percocet is a controlled substance, and purchasing it without a prescription can lead to big trouble. See a doctor. This is not a medication that anyone should be purchasing online. Apart from the fact that it is highly addictive, the online sellers who make it available are not likely to be trustworthy, and you could be purchasing expired medication, or medication that has been tampered with, or totally fake medication.
Hi, sorry for your wait in answer. Xanax does work, however, has draw backs. It's addictive. So you build tolerance and it takes more to get the effect and in general, people can begin taking more and more. That's why it is a controlled substance. I know that is hard when it has worked in the past for you. What other meds or therapy have you tried? (also, they've made it harder for doctors to prescribe controlled substances).
if they want you to take it everyday then you should have many refills to get you by until your next appointment. for a controlled substance like xanax you only need to go in 1 time every 6 months. if you do not get many refills than chances are you are only supposed to take it as needed, not everyday or all the time.
an example is my 1mg xanax says to take 1 every 6-8 hours. it also says in the pamphlet to not stop taking it until the script is finished.

A doctor who is knowledgeable in TN will slowly wean you onto the drug -- slowly increasing the dosage until the pain is controlled. Follow your doctor's instructions with these types of drugs.
A lot of states have drug databases now and now every time you get prescribed a narcotic or controlled substance you go into the computer that way if you try to get another script from another doctor they can alert the doctors. Its cutting down on doctor shopping .
I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?
