It is easy to push people away when they fail to meet your expectations or trigger negative thoughts and feelings. I don't get mood charting or why it necessarily would improve the advice we are given. Not sure exactly why that comment would leave me feeling angry.

Avatar f tn s a habit of yours to not talk to people and overcome this by taking small steps because you at any cost cannot let this habit of yours prevail and you know that so **** that fear and go out to do small things that eliminate your fear of this. This will start making you happier. One small suggestion while doing this that don't panic in front of people just be yourself whatever the **** they think. Just put forward what you think and soon you will see the difference.

Avatar f tn To overcome anxiety, one must understand the logic of why the brain is feeling threatened, it sends messages to the body saying its under threat. New pathways need to be created to overcome the old programming. So for example, if you panic over a fear of flying, you must start flying and let the brain realise that its all okay, and reprogram the thoughts. However, the fear of dying can't really be practiced. Some buddhists meditate in a morgue as it is the closest we can get to dying.

Avatar f tn t much care what your life has been like, it just tries to teach you how your thinking is causing you pain and tries to teach you ways to overcome that way of thinking. So if this form of therapy doesn't work for you, think about trying other forms. Hypnosis can also be very helpful.
Avatar n tn Have you had changes in medication. Don't worry about whether or not people are talking about you. If you don't work on yourself you can't change the people around you. Peace starts within and then spreads without. I hope you feel better.
Avatar n tn Look, I can't pretend to have the same problems, I'm a guy. But I'm going to offer a comment because there really aren't a lot of people who participate on here and so I'm not sure you're going to find that many who will respond with similar experiences. But in a way, everyone with mental problems has similar issues -- we may differ on the specific things that terrify us but we're all terrified.
Avatar m tn scarlett11 Try a sleep app that has dozens of recordings of therapists telling you how to go to sleep. You get to select which one you want to listen to, and I often listen to the same recording for months. Sometimes I fall asleep in the first few minutes but for that to work, I have to pay attention to what the speaker says.
Avatar n tn I get so nervous when talking to people sometimes that I kind of feel as though I'm having some sort of depersonalization. It's hard to explain but whenever I'm at work and I have to talk to one of my customers I can get so nervous that I can't concentrate on what they're saying. I then space out, and my thoughts begin rushing. When this happens I sort of lose myself within the sensation and I try to grasp what's going on, but I'm quickly overwhelmed with pure fear.
Avatar m tn their is no chance of HIV without condom breakage...to overcome your fears ...take a test....taking a test can come out of fear 99% than googing...
Avatar n tn I have developed a fear of heights that has interfered with my ability to enjoy my favorite winter sport...snow skiing. The anxiety produced when confronted with height creates what is near panic. The fear only exhibits itself primarily on the ground and outside.. I do not have a fear of flying in a jet airplane or inside tall buildings. It has become a real problem for me to enjoy skiing.
Avatar m tn Agreed. But some of these fears can be overcome. Puppies and chicks tend to be fast moving. Find the right kind of puppy at a pound or store, and I bet his response will be different.
1336302 tn?1275685585 Our bodies are designed for us to use our voice, you are having an unfounded fear about this. The only people who ever have a problem are singers and it's always a temporary thing. You will not harm your voice by talking too much, trust me because if it were possible I would know! LOL It does sound a little OCD but I think if you accept that our voices were meant to be used and a lot, you will be fine.
Avatar m tn My fear starts when I have to interact and and come in contact with people. I start to think that every handshake every high five every time you bump into someone is a risk which I know is absolutely ridiculous. Like I said, I've done a lot of reading on here the last few months and I know the ways of transmission and how fragile a virus it is and all that but it still doesn't stop me from feeling anxious.
Avatar m tn sorry when I get anxious, I dont have any options just needed to build more confidence to come out of my depression by asking questions and confirming with people like you who have seen, heard, know something better than me. As this forum is patient to patient & also users with some common ideas & interests to discuss....very badly I needed more opinions which can give me a sign of relief ! I am sorry if I have just tried too much to compare opinions among different sources.
Avatar m tn Try not to stress too much, i know easy said than done, but believe me you are ok. People go to the dentist, hairdressers, doctors all the time, if it was that easy to catch everyone would have it. Its your irrational thoughts that are playing games with you, keep telling yourself that its a irrational fear. All the best, i hope you can overcome your irrational fear you have.
