Common Questions and Answers about Overcome fear of riding horses

fear

Avatar f tn I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the thumping and bumping of actually riding is not a good thing (although maybe it's not that dangerous) but if you were to miscarry you would always wonder. But the main problem is that it would be a high place to fall from, and some of the awkward ways we fall when we fall off a horse are really conducive to broken bones or worse.
Avatar f tn I think it was all stupid and i shouldnt have, but i was under alot of stress and horses really calm me down. Even the safest horses can trip when walking and cause enough motion to slam ur belly into the saddle horn. So good luck! If its somethin u usually dont do and u wanna try it for fun, i would say wait till baby is born, its not worth it! But if its your passion, and your experienced, then its still not recomended but u have to go with ur gut. Hope i could help!
Avatar f tn I'm 30weeks pregnant. Should I stay off of horses or no? I've ridden before but haven't had the chance to ride since I found out. What do y'all think?
6710217 tn?1386110892 Instead of bouncing on a yoga ball can you just go horse back riding? Not like running or galloping but just going on a walk cuz its a bumpy ride...
Avatar f tn I am going on sixteen weeks pregnant, and im loosing my mind not being able to ride my horses! None of them are gentle, so I dont want to risk it. I miss my rodeos so much! How did any of you cope without riding your ponies?
667078 tn?1316000935 I think you are an excellent example of showing us all that if we put our minds to something challenging we can overcome what sometimes feels like insurmountable mountains (or even horses!) You will be trotting and cantering before we know it.
Avatar n tn Not safe anymore, sorry! I love horse riding too and we'll just have to put it aside for some months now!
1365668 tn?1277946866 Nope don't do it. My mother trains horses and as far as riding goes while pregnant it doesn't matter how trained your horse is there are a million outside factors that could spook the horse and cause you to fall off or make the horse buck or rear. We have all Arabians so they are a little more temperamental but its better to just refrain while you can.
7930748 tn?1395500860 Hey guys, im just wondering what your opinions on riding are while pregnant? Some of my friends think its fine and others think not!
186166 tn?1385259382 o) There seems to be quite a few women on forum who own horses. One of the girls on one of the forums transports horses (airplane) as part of how she makes a living. I remember when I first read that, I had to smile to myself because though she was in no way bragging, I knew she knew her stuff. Transporting horses is not something that just anyone can do - as I know you would know. Well good luck with your new horse. It certainly does sound exciting to become part of a Search and Rescue Team.
Avatar f tn It seems that you really do love horses and are passionate about riding and taking care of horses! I do not know your mother's reasons for not allowing you to have a horse at this time, but perhaps you can talk to her and understand her point of view? having your own horse can be VERY expensive. Not only the price of the horse, but the board, the farrier, the Veterinarian,. any medical expenses, your riding lessons, your tack, riding gear, etc. Maybe this is the reason? Also, about time..
615350 tn?1272598969 I just learned about it a few days ago, but she has had it for a while. My question is, Should a person with this disease stop riding horses even after having the decompression surgery? She has not had the surgery yet, but she may have to soon.
Avatar f tn My doctor said I could until 36 weeks BUT WHEN I was pregnant with my last I was hard headed I was 33 weeks I talked my bf into taking me riding on a horse u could sit a baby on and she would be so easy well needless to say while we were riding she bellied down with me on her and I fell .
Avatar n tn I have had a toothache/facepain for over two weeks, I know I need to go and see a dentist but I have a great fear of going because of cetain circumstances that happened while going to the dentist as a child. I have been taking advil for the pain and most times it is tolerable but now it seems to be getting worse as it is keeping me awake at night.
Avatar m tn My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis 18 months ago and has had 7 varices banded since then. He has completely quit drinking and chewing tobacco. 3 months ago he went in for a check up and the doctor said he had 2 small varices banded. The doctor said they were small and really didn't need to band them, but since he was in there decided to band them. He placed him on the standard 15 lb weight limit.
8379527 tn?1397863810 It's just like running a lot because I'm the same I ride 5-6 times a week and my doctor said it was fine it's all about knowing what you are doing if it's something you do often enough you should be fine :)
867582 tn?1311627397 Jeez, my daughter used to help run our riding classes for the disabled and the MS Society local riding days, she had people riding horses who were in wheelchairs. Come to Aussie, I could find you somewhere to ride :-) My horse is yeah a baby, only just 4 but was turned out to grow and mature, it's spring here and all the lovely grass is coming through, I love him, but it has scared me a bit, I am not a teenager anymore and the bounce has gone.
Avatar f tn I hate to admit but my bf has a Harley and around that time i was riding once a month, short distance and no where that required a bunch of speed. Very mellow drives, now that I'm almost due i won't get on because I'm so big! The reason my doc said she didn't recommend me riding was out of risk of falling, plus the Harley is very loud so I'm convinced i may scare my Lil guy and risk him turning this late, he's due in 5 days!
Avatar f tn I grew up doing a lot of horseback riding and had lessons in English hunter-jumper, Western pleasure, and on my own horses I did a lot of bareback riding. English hunter-jumper is my favorite riding style. I hope I can get another horse someday...I know my son is just as horse-crazy as I am and he'd love to learn to ride, and I would be beyond thrilled to teach him! As for team sports--baseball. I love that game!
Avatar f tn I am 3 weeks pregnant for the second time. I was previously pregnant and 4 1/2 weeks in and I had an unplanes dismount from a horse I was rodeoing on. I ride horses for a living, not anything crazy just keeping them tuned up for city people to ride. My husband is very worried that even just riding could be to hard on my body and cause another misscarrage. I can't just stop riding Ikr I'll lose my dream job. What would you suggest doing?
Avatar f tn t like it, but later you will wish you had taken it--is to give these horses away as quickly as you possibly can and reconcile yourself to the loss of money as an investment in your children's safety and health.
334876 tn?1229979296 I know this is off topic but this pic is of one of my horses and one of my sweet girls riding love them all to death Cowboy
