Avatar n tn Other causes are claustrophobia, GERD, cervical nerve compression, inner ear problem, postural hypotension or blood pressure falling with change of position, and some endocrine problems such as an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), and in some cases, diabetes, may lead to hypotension and hence lightheadedness and an off balance feeling.
Avatar f tn Here are some the common symptoms of a Hyperthyroid condition (I am no expert just a fellow person with a Hyperthyroid condition) You may only have a temporary overactive thyroid condition and actually not have thyroid disease hard to tell with out more data.
Avatar m tn In the space of about 1 month I lost half a stone for no apparent reason, so I turned to the internet to look for reasons why this might be. Overactive thyroid is one of the things I came across so I looked into it more and some of the symptoms ring a bell; Mood swings, Sweating, Tiredness, weight loss regardless of increased appetite, sleeping poorly, shaky hands (sometimes) and that my heart occasionally feels like it skips a beat.
Avatar f tn I am feeling absolutely fine and have never been diagnosed with thyroid problems in the past. In fact, I am pretty overweight just due to not dieting or exercising like I should have been. They prescribed me the lowest dosage of Synthroid available. I cannot for the life of me understand why they would give this to me having a slightly overactive thyroid because I am under the impression that it is for people with underactive thyroids.
Avatar n tn I feel anxious and unwell, not sure which comes first if I have an overactive thyroid, is it causing AF or could the AF and amiodrone have caused the thyroid? I have another appointment with the GP but feel confused. Any feedback appreciated.
Avatar f tn This SLOWS down metabolism. So in Thyroid terms that would be low thyroid or more commonly known as hypothyroidism or Hypo for short. Hypo most common symptoms are; chronic fatigue, cold hands & feet, low body temperature, inability to take cold temperatures, always bundled up when others seem fine, loss of hair, brittle hair, dry skin, brain "fog", low libido, weight gain/inability to lose weight regardless of amount of exercise. Depression & sometimes anxiety.
Avatar n tn Hi, No.. you won't die! I used to have an overactive thyroid too. You can't have the surgery until your thyroid is controlled with the meds. It might take some time, mine took about 1 -2 years. You might need more medication? Also try to eat lots of foods that will suppress the thyroid like broccoli.
Avatar f tn i was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the dr.s told me that that was my magor reason why i coudnt get pregnant, now they just gave propanolol 20mg i want to know if this medication helps my thyroid hormones in its level it sopost to be and if it can help me get pregnant?
Avatar f tn Two months ago my blood tests revealed I had hashimoto. My TSH was 4.769, my T4 free was 1.07, and my FSH serum was 114.5. I have been taking 1 grain (65 mg) of Nature-Throid NT-1. I just had another blood test and now my TSH is 0.006, which indicates that I am cured of hashimoto's and now have an overactive thyroid???
Avatar f tn I just got a call from my regular doctor this morning saying that my blood test work which got done last week showed an overactive thyroid. Again. This was just a routine check up so I'm seeing my endo doc on Thursday. Last time I got my tests done were in April when they showed an slight overactive thyroid. I was prescribed beta blockers. Before that, almost a year ago, I went through a phase of an overactive thyroid that lasted about a 3 months. After this period, my values were normal.
Avatar f tn 25mg to take twice a day so I will see how I go with these but so far they help for a few hours and then off I go on a wobble again -Also I have had so much muscle wastage in my legs I feel like they will not hold me and I am afraid to go anywhere on my own in case I fall and I am going from home into the car, car into work and home again, so all in all it is not much fun having an overactive thyroid and I am starting to think I have an overactive mind also!!!
Avatar f tn The thing is at one off the ladies I go care for her daughter has told me and the other career that she is off work because she has got a overactive thyroid and because off this she is carrying too much static in her vudu and her doctor has told her not to go near babies or pregnant ladies. She doesn't no I'm pregnant and although I didn't touch her she was best me is this a problem.
Avatar n tn This happened to my daughter, all her tests came back ok but then we discovered a year later that her thyroid was borderline for being overactive and she was left for a year, in the meantime all her symptoms which match yours got steadily worse, she lost weight and was admitted in with a fast heartrate and there it was discovered she had and overactive thyroid which cos was left untreated had turned to hyper, she has had treatment and is on the mend.
Avatar m tn Ask your family if it runs in your family. There are two types of disorders-overactive and underactive. Yours might be an overactive! Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Hi, I am new to this site and was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid a few days ago. Other than a racing heart I have been very lucky and haven’t actually felt too bad (TSH 0.02 and T4 46.3) my doctor has started me on 10mg carbimazole daily and I am really anxious about the weight gain since I haven’t actually lost weight even with the overactive thyroid. Has anyone got any advice? I am just being paranoid? Thank you in advance!
Avatar f tn First - thyroid supplementation is for an underactive thyroid, bot an overactive thyroid. Both Armour Thyroid and levothyroxine are thyroid supplements - levothyroxine is T4, which is the form of hormone produced by the thyroid gland, and which is converted to the active T3 form. Armour Thyroid contains both T4 and T3. Some patients don't seem to convert T4 to T3 quite the way they should and this may explain why some feel better on Armour Thyroid.
Avatar m tn If you have an overactive thyroid, you should check with your healthcare professional before taking CoQ10.
Avatar f tn she has also gained weight in the last 6 months - dr. did blood work and her t3 was 9.9 (she has an overactive thyroid) - thermal scan was done and it is a "cold nodule" Now we are just waiting for the appts for the ENT and an endocrinologist. I'm not sure the size of the nodule. Her aunt had thyroid cancer years ago-mother takes meds for thyroid. My question is - What is the next step? FNA and who would do it? ENT or endrocrinologist?
Avatar n tn For your own health, as well as for the baby you hope to carry, your thyroid gland status should be sorted out first. An overactive thyroid is treatable, and pretty common.
7831604 tn?1399711007 Any of you ladies dealing with thyroid problems? I have had overactive thyroid for years but it seems this pregnancy they are watching it more closely than my last 3years ago. I was just wondering would this lead to being indimuced early or anything?
Avatar m tn I have this same thing happen, and for what I know it is the thyroid dumping hormones. The thyroid is in that area of the throat and drips the hormones you need, but sometimes if you have a sluggish (Hypothyroid) or overactive (Hyperthyroid) it can suddenly dump a large amount of hormones all at once. It tastes very bitter, and in my experience its bitter, medical, and oily tasting. You may want to get a blood test to check for either condition.
