6589573 tn?1382725642 I am 38 years old with a history of ovarian cysts & endometriosis. I haven't had a period in four months now. I have never had irregular periods before even with the endo. Had 2 surgeries to remove adhesions and 1 to remove a softball sized hemmoragic cyst. Doctor says I am not in perimenopause either. I have pain at my left ovary, clear discharge, and blood clots have come out during a bowel movement. Aside from feeling bloated and basically horrible the pain is becoming worse.
Avatar n tn Yes, if ovarian cysts linger and grow it can block the follicles of the ovary from releasing an egg. Good luck!!
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
Avatar n tn D and C or ablation is done for heavy periods resulting from endometrial hyperplasia and not for ovarian cysts. If you want to go the natural way then you can wait for a spontaneous regression of the ovarian cyst. This will require follow up with frequent ultrasound scans. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn I have had pain on my left side for the past 6 months. I have had several ovarian cysts during that time (mind you after my daughter was born i had my right ovary removed due to a large ovarian cyst 17mm). I had it removed in July 2011 thinking that it was causing the pain. I did not have a period the whole three years I had it. Here is a month later and I am still having the pain and I have a hemorrhagic cyst partially collapsed on my left ovary. I also have not had a period yet either.
600006 tn?1219851570 I think it's wise to have the 2nd opinion, if for no other reason other than you don't have a lot of confidence in your current Dr. But cysts sometimes can take as long as 3-4 cycles to disappear. Your period doesn't "wash them out". They simply dissolve.
Avatar f tn Thanks a lot!!!!! I had problems before too... When I was 19 years old Had right endometriotic cyst 5×4×4 and that was cured and from last 2years periods were regular.... But nw I missed period last month and got the above report....
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts suck because they can delay your period and make you think you're pregnant when youre not. When theyre large and they rupture, its hurts like heck and they usually occur around ovalation. Alot of women using fertility meds get little cysts and that is normal too.
Avatar n tn Another possibility to look at would be your appendix, unless you have already gotten it out. Fibroids and ovarian cysts can cause a lot of pain. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns, but it does sound like it is the fibroid and cysts.
Avatar m tn Also check out the ovarian cyst forum at medhelp for discussion of the managements of ovarian cysts that are not related to ovarin cancer good luck
Avatar f tn My vomiting episode used to start one or two days before period and last for 1-2 days during period. Doctor treated me for H-Pyroli bacteria and asked me to slow down. They missed or never did pelvic exam for cyst. Ask your friend to see Gyn.
Avatar f tn i am 44 and currently going through menopause. my hormone levels were checked and confirmed. i haven't had a period in 6 months. now i developed cysts on both ovaries and they are very painful. there are no signs so far for cancer. my doctor wants to remove the cysts. i'm o.k. with this, but he wants to remove my ovaries at the same time. he said they are not really working anymore. i will have to go on hormone therapy. i'm afraid, i've heard so many conflicting reports.
3183328 tn?1351183517 I have ovarian cysts and have had them since March 2011. I finished my period the beginning of this week and before I started my period I think one of my cysts ruptured because I was in excruciating pain from last Friday- Sunday. I started my period and it ended I think Tuesday. Well now I have cramping and I don't know why. I normally have severe cramping before my period, not after. What do you think it could be?
Avatar f tn When the follicles are forming small cysts may be present in the normal ovary. These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought.
Avatar n tn You might be given medication to help you get your period if you have irregular periods, since that helps in shrinking the cysts. Good luck and please don't hesitate to ask your doctor lots of questions!
Avatar n tn I have ovarian cysts, i have pain every so often but this month has been weird. about two weeks ago i had light pink discharge that lasted about one week and now i am 5 days late what could be wrong??
Avatar f tn It is really rare to have ovarian cancer in both ovaries. Most cysts are benign. Unless you have the BRCA mutation you have 1.4% of ovarian cancer in a lifetime. I am no doctor but you might have polycystic ovary syndrome.
Avatar n tn I suffer from ovarian cysts. I have talked to several gynos an all of them jave told me that if you suffer from ovarian cysts that they can actually burst and most of the time you wont even know they burst because they burst during your period. I dont have it every month but i do have it every couple months. They isnt much they can do except treat the pain if your have cysts unless they are very big. These can be found by getting a simple an quick ultrasound.
Avatar f tn s been 4 months since i started my treatment, but the problem is that i have developed twice during this period ovarian cysts 3-5 cm, which cause me great pain. My doctor insists that visanne should prevent me from developing ovarian cysts, and every time this happens i have to take for 20 days secondary progesterone. So my question is should i look for somethng else? Maybe my thiroid or any other hormones that could cause ovarian cysts?
Avatar n tn I have been suffering from Ovarian Cysts since I was 16 years old and I am 32 now. I had an oophorectomy at age 16 of the right side. I have two beautiful children but cannot get an acceptable quality of life because of these no warning episodes. Do you know of a natural remedy that I can use to eliminate and prevent future cysts from forming? My frequency is about 2 to 3 times a year.
