Avatar n tn t believe I am the community leader for this forum and forgot to point out that if you go up to the top and right under the titel of Ovarian Cysts Community is a blued ovarian cysts. If you click on this it gives you more detail and graphic pictures.
Avatar f tn Early onset menarche, infertile, always had problems with ovarian cysts. Periods stopped in 2005. Lots of menopause symptoms. Family history, Mother and maternal grandmother both had CA, mother CA of ovaries & cervix/uterus, grandma uterine ca. Never conceived children. The plethora of symptoms I will not recite here, suffice to say many.
Avatar n tn m a 47-year old female, who just had a transvaginal ultrasound to work up possible ovarian cysts after a syncopal episode that lined up with my cycle. Also, my mother had aggressive clear cell ovarian cancer, so good to have a baseline. My last ultrasound was from May 11, four days ago. Results were "Nothing to worry about." But this morning, post-bowel movement I started spotting. It's progressed to moderate flow with clots throughout the day.
Avatar m tn Ultrasound of ovarian cysts is not an exact science. Most ovarian cysts are benign and most go away in 2 to 3 cycles / months. Yours is still small which is also good. If you do not have a family history / genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer then your lifetime risk is less than 2% (1.3% per government statistics). If there is a concern about malignancy, you will want to see a gynecologic oncologist.
Avatar n tn i was doing research on ovarian ultrasound pictures and types of ovarian cysts on the internet and i came across a picture of a ovarian teratoma that looks alot like the "light spot" in my ultrasound. i never had an ultrasound to diagnose my pcos. the diagnoses was primarly made by blood tests and the symptoms i had/have. i read that teratoma cysts have some of the same symptoms as pcos patients. is it possible that i was misdiagnosed?
Avatar n tn When having an ultrasound, what does it mean when the ovary and the cyst are deep black? cyst is 3cm and ovary is enlarged. Is there a site I can go to to see pictures of ovarian cysts and their diagnosis?
Avatar f tn s as a guide to determine if you have the most common form of ovarian cancer, approximately 80% of all ovarian cancers are epitheal ovarian cancer which is cancer of the cells on the surface of your ovary. Please keep in mind that CA-125 can be elevated if your menstruating and some other cuases of inflamation.. Unfortunately with any type of suspected ovarian mass/tumor/ suspicious cyst(s) surgery will be the only way for the Dr's too make a definitive Dx.
Avatar n tn I had an ultra sound a few days ago and among many ovarian cysts, she they saw a fallopian tube cyst. (or something) The tech did not think it was a mass because of its color and shape. Can ultra sound really detect the difference between a cyst and a cancerous mass?
Avatar f tn //ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm. Unfortunately, I've read of cases where surgeons with good cystectomy skills were outside the patient's insurance network and they had to appeal to have this surgery covered as in-network. I don't know if this is common or not. Removal of any part of the reproductive system (even one ovary) can permanently disrupt natural hormone production which can have serious negative effects on many aspects of health.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply. My husband keeps telling me to stop reading about ovarian cysts because i'll just freak myself out. But yes, waiting is horrible. I'm in my early 30s and have not yet had children, so I am hoping whatever is causing the cysts does not prevent me from doing so. I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. How has the condition been for you?
Avatar f tn Thankfully though MOST ovarian cysts are benign. If you do not have a family history or predisposition for ovarian cancer then your risk is LESS THAN 2%. I developed an ovarian cyst at age 49. My gynecologist rushed me into surgery and should have removed just the cyst (cystectomy) since my frozen section came back benign. Instead, he removed all of my sex organs. Since the uterus, ovaries, and tubes have LIFELONG functions, I am suffering the many health and quality of life effects.
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old and during a routine obgyn check, my transvaginal ultrasound showed my right ovary to be enlarged. I am taking birth control and my left ovary is 1.68/0.64 cm and my right ovary is 3.22/2.20 cm. My doctor told me that the size of the left ovary was normal considering I'm take BC and that the right ovary should be roughly the same size.
Avatar f tn Go you your OBGYN, if you should probably go on birth control pills if you have no contraindications to them. They will greatly reduce ovarian cysts and pelvic pain due to menstruation and also reduce the days you menstruate.
Avatar f tn I am becoming an expert on ovarian cysts as I have one and I have spent ages on the net researching them. Follicular cysts are almost never cancerous. No doubt your doctor is being on the safe side. I don't know anything about doppler I'm afraid but you should go back to your doctor to ask questions if this is bothering you. My doctor tried to fob me off as I was asking too many questions but at the end of the day that is part of their job.
254714 tn?1316613355 the patient a 41 year old female with a history of ovarian cysts and fibriod. nabothian cysts in the endocervix, 1.49cm8 0.63 in size noted. the uterus measures 7.33cm*5.37cm*4.92cm in size. endometrial thickness is 4.2mm and homogeneous. myoma in the body of the uterus posteriorly, 1.89cm* 1.36cm* in size noted. the right ovary is enlarged, measuring 5.23cm* 3.83cm* 3.08 in size noted. large clear cyst right ovary, 3.75cm* 3.
Avatar f tn 1. Two left ovarian cysts are now present. The dominant one measures up to 3.4 cm in size. It is minimally smaller than on previous study of 1/18/08 but continued follow-up ultrasound is requested as detailed above. 2. Uterine leiomyomatous disease suggested. IUD in uterus. This is what the 3rd one (May) said: Findings: The uterus measures 8.8 x 4.7 x 5.5 cm in dimension. Within the uterine fundus in the interstitium of the myometrium there is a hyperechoic lesion which measures 1.1 x 1.
Avatar f tn 1. large benign fluid filled ovarian cyst as described above (surgically removed later) 2. large benign fluid filled breast cysts (which eventually disappeared on their own) So in my attempt at an extremely unscientific explanation, I would say black tends to be fluid filled masses which very often are of the "good" variety, although larger ones also tend to be large enough that surgery could be recommended.
Avatar f tn I also had a complex ovarian cyst of the same size (9.5cm). MOST ovarian cysts, even suspicious looking complex ones, are usually benign. However, with your pelvic cancer history, this would certainly seem more concerning. And large cysts have the risk of causing the ovary to twist on itself (ovarian torsion) which can be extremely painful and cause the ovary to die likely putting you in an emergency situation. Unfortunately, I was over-treated by my long-time gynecologist.
Avatar m tn Hi, Such symptoms are common with ovarian cysts. If wait and watch policy does not work out then medicines can be taken for resolution of the cysts. Hence do not lose hope and all the best. Hope this helps.
700067 tn?1332989283 I am also very very tired all the time. I’ve been having pelvic pain as well and an ultrasound showed some cysts, although the doc was not worried and said they were normal. Three weeks ago, I was driving home from work and started feeling a pain in my abdomen. It was in the lower right ride, but several inches above my pelvis. I laid down when I got home and a few hours later I woke up screaming in pain. The pain was seriously worse than childbirth.
Avatar f tn I have not been back to a gyno until recently. My MD recommended an ultrasound which showed 2 ovarian complex cysts, multi cystic mass with calc & irregular edges and color. The largest cyst is 4.3 x 4.4 x 3.7. She recommended a CA125 test which came back as 14. I have been referred to a gyno -oncologist but he is booked for a month before I can see him. I had a hysterectomy because of multiple large fibroid tumors in 1999 but retained my ovaries.
Avatar f tn This either represents a left ovarian or adnexal or adnexal solid mass or a fibroid in the left aspect of the fundus of the uterus. On color Doppler ultrasound, there is no evidence of ovarian torsion. What does all this mean and where should I go next. I had pap test done and 4 weeks still no results yet.
254714 tn?1316613355 i had done in Dec 2009 bilateral ocarian cysts areidentified once again. the right ovarian cyst appears complex vs two adjacent cysts with a combined cystic structure measuring 3.3*5.6*3.3 cm representing an interval increase in size greatest dimension of 4.2cm on 10/29/09 no color doppler blood flow is demonstrated nor nodularity internally. overall the right ovary measure 3.1*6.5*4.0 cm the left ovary is also slighty enlarged measuring 3.4*5.2*4.
Avatar f tn I only assume I have PCOS because my hormones are out of whack and I have ovarian cysts. My symptoms have been going on for 10+ years and no doctor ever diagnosed me with this condition or even mentioned it. I have been struggling for the last 2+ years with severe health problems and was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome). Make sure your doctor is very informative about this condition. Ask lots of questions.
3100626 tn?1341387176 IBS pain can often feel like gynecologic pain or ovarian cyst/fibroid pain so is often confused with these problems. However, if your recent ultrasound didn't find any ovarian cysts or problems with the ovaries or tubes, then your pain may be more related to the bowel than the ovaries. You still should continue to see your gynecologist to follow this and be sure. Furthermore, you should consider seeing a gastroenterologist as well as they are physicians that can help with bowels.
