Does anyone know what color cysts show up as on a transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound?
Early onset menarche, infertile, always had problems with ovarian cysts. Periods stopped in 2005. Lots of menopause symptoms. Family history, Mother and maternal grandmother both had CA, mother CA of ovaries & cervix/uterus, grandma uterine ca. Never conceived children. The plethora of symptoms I will not recite here, suffice to say many.
//www.4woman.gov/faq/ovarian_cysts.htm What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts? Many women have ovarian cysts without having any symptoms.
1. large benign fluid filled ovarian cyst as described above (surgically removed later) 2. large benign fluid filled breast cysts (which eventually disappeared on their own) So in my attempt at an extremely unscientific explanation, I would say black tends to be fluid filled masses which very often are of the "good" variety, although larger ones also tend to be large enough that surgery could be recommended.
Ultrasounds cannot diagnose cancer. An ultrasound will just describe a structure. Most ovarian structures are dynamic and depend on where a person is in their cycle. A septation means a thin dividing wall inside the cyst.
Yes, I am sure you have heard but I will repeat, 99% of ovarian cysts are BENIGN. Ok, got that? Good. Let us know what your dr. says. Although easier said than done, try not to worry. We will wait with you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Of course they will bag the cyst so that there is no spillage. Although 99% of ovarian cysts are benign, you are wise in seeking medical attention. Do you know it a gyn/onc will be present for the surgery? They are specialists in women's gyn issues and have seen it all. Also, your left ovary could very well be hiding, as that seems to be a common occurance with left ovaries (they can hide behind the bowels, etc.
THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE THIS FORUM....SO "SPAZ"s LIKE US CAN RELIEVE OURSELVES! LOL ....HERE'S SOME POSTS FROM BACK IN MAY OF 2006 THAT MAY HELP YOU.... 05/18/06 As far as I know, cyst ruptures are very common and not worrisome. Usually "functional" ovarian cysts are the cysts that rupture. A functional cyst means that it is formed during your normal ovulation cycle. Technically, every month a woman has a cyst rupture during ovulation.
The continued w/ Morphine and antibiotics. Additionally I had a sonogram that showed Gallstones and small ovarian cysts. The cysts were considered normal. I stayed in the hospital for 8 days on Morphine. The last procedure was a colonoscopy. It showed Diverticuli and some reddened areas, but nothing major. During my 8 day stay I was prepped for surgery 3 times. My doctors kept telling me they were worried and I can honestly say that I thought I was going to die.
These are the specialists when it comes to ovarian cancer. They know what to look for, where to look for it and, and how to rmeove it. You DON'T want someone looking in, finding something bad, sewing you up and having you wait for another surgery. I pray for good things for you.
Hi everyone, I am a 47 year old who had a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy on 1/9 for complex ovarian cysts with solid nodules and various other cysts on the ovaries and in fallopian tubes. I am wondering about hormone replacement....my dr. suggests prempro and I am just curious if anyone has had experience with this drug...there are so many pros and cons....I just felt I would like to hear some feedback. thank you, Kate. This is a wonderful site...
Oh well, we are all different, and maybe it's because I had both ovaries out and not just the cysts? who knows. Don't be afraid, it's best to know, and plan for it! Doctors tend not to give you the full scoop on things, so we've only got each other, girls! I hope I've done more help than harm... :) If you think that's funny, wait until "My Top 10 Adventures with Hormones" comes out next... Take care my friends, keep healing and looking forward!
I went through 6 OB/GYNs this year alone - I had huge, recurrent, hemorrhagic ovarian cysts and all of the OB/GYNs wanted to either do a complete hysterectomy or put me on some very frightening medication. I finally found one who would just remove the ovary and it took me 7 months to find him but thank god it did! Yeah, the "layman" and some doctors may brand you as crazy but who really cares. Move on until you find one who really wants to help!
has anyone been examined for ovarian cysts? also, in the lower left abdomen it could be gas.
What are the chances of me miscarring again? I do have 2 ovarian cysts, the left one is the size of an orange. Could they be the problem? Can stress cause spotting? I just really hope this baby makes it!!
Arent I too young for this? Its not my first, but it is in a new spot. I also have ovarian cysts, which I have had since I was 17. I'm on birth control and have been for a long time, so my only recollection of my natural period was that I didnt get it regularly. I also have chronic lower back pain, which wakes me up every morning, and intense sharp random pain, which feels like its attaching one ovary or the other.
I went to the ER, where they ran all kinds of bloodwork, and got strange results that they didn't seem to know how to interpret. They also sent me for an ultrasound, which found nothing abnormal. I was referred to different specialists, and since then, have been to 5 different doctors, undergone so many crazy (some invasive) tests, and yet, no answers yet. Does anyone have any idea?
Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.

As well as another 24 hour urine analysis. She did an ultrasound of the growth on my left thyroid gland and printed pictures...and scheduled another appointment. We will see what happens. Thank you all again for providing so much support. Fellinglike you're not alone is so vital.
i went to my doctor who gave me an internal examination and said that my ovaries were 'slightly raised' (whatever that means) and said i should go for an ultrasound to check for ovarian cysts. I was then called back again to have a smear test and was tested for chlamydia and any other STI's. The results were negative. I am waiting for my ultrasounds (pelvic and internal) and then i go back to the doctor after a week for the results.
A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape… But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape. A strong woman isn't afraid of anything… But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear. A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her… But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.
I have had the EXACT same symptoms as you were having with the pain under the right rib cage. I had also had many ovarian cysts and pain from them. My doctor also thought gall bladder problems because of the are and type of pain I was having. An ultrasound revealed nothing. Nexium for one months helped but when I stopped, the pain gradually got to the same level again, especdially when I woke up most mornings. I will tell you what I did.
Part of me wants to try ovulation stim with injectables and IUI, but the other part of me is afraid that our chances are so low with everything we have wrong, and what if the follies don't rupture i could get a lot of cysts that way.. (thankfully my cysts seem to rupture on their own before the start of the next cycles) I only have one functioning ovary (we discovered I had a 6.5cm endometrioma eating away my left ovary about three months ago - no symptoms of endo at all, so we were shocked!
So I went back to the doctor who placed it who also couldn't find the strings and ordered an ultrasound. When I had the ultrasound, it showed my Mirena was still in place, but the strings were in my uterus too. Then my bleeding stopped and I haven't had a period since July. Now I am having crazy food cravings, increased urination, fatigue, feelings of lightheadedness after I eat (which I had ALL the time with my 2nd preg), and extremely emotional.
I haven't had as much cramps as I did last month ( I even thought I had a cyst or something, but I shouldn't get any cysts while on Lupron). in 4 weeks I can start counting as CD1 and although it will take a few more weeks to O, I know I will O before November when I will be do to get AF again since march, of course I am not looking to have her around, it has been great not seeing her ugly face for the past 5 months and I know I still have 2 more months to go without her, so that's good!!
Hello All, This is my first time being on this site and it has been truly insightful so far. I am a 33 year old female that found a lump in my breast. After the mammogram (VERY painful) and ultrasound, a 1 cm lump was indicated. The ultrasound findings indicate "an area of palpable abnormality 4 cm from the nipple. This is a suggestion there is some enhancement posteriorly suggesting this may represent a complex cyst.
I have a book almost finished, I am only waiting on the pictures from a PT with an interest in IC, who is also an artist. I put it together only because of the lack of info out there for kids too! I hope to have it finished soon!! Again, I will give any of you who pm me the links to help, we are just not supposed to post them here, sorry.
My doc is concerned and says I'm at higher risk since it's so soon after, and I also have ovarian cysts that keep rupturing and bleeding in my abdomen and causing me a lot of pain. I'm just hoping that everything turns out okay with this pregnancy. I was devastated by the loss of the last one and I really don't want to go through it again. How did you all cope with these feelings? I hope that all of you have healthy happy pregnancies and babies. Best wishes to all.
Because he was hiding. That was such a trying time for us. When we had our ultrasound my dh did mention to our dr that what was that sparkle and cluster of cells at the top of the sac, but the dr ignored us. The ultrasound tech even suggested doing an abdo scan for a different angle. Her head got bitten off, as my dr never likes to be questioned. It may be false hope, but when you read these stories it gives you so much hope. Only time will tell.
