Avatar n tn i was doing research on ovarian ultrasound pictures and types of ovarian cysts on the internet and i came across a picture of a ovarian teratoma that looks alot like the "light spot" in my ultrasound. i never had an ultrasound to diagnose my pcos. the diagnoses was primarly made by blood tests and the symptoms i had/have. i read that teratoma cysts have some of the same symptoms as pcos patients. is it possible that i was misdiagnosed?
Avatar n tn When having an ultrasound, what does it mean when the ovary and the cyst are deep black? cyst is 3cm and ovary is enlarged. Is there a site I can go to to see pictures of ovarian cysts and their diagnosis?
Avatar f tn Thankfully though MOST ovarian cysts are benign. If you do not have a family history or predisposition for ovarian cancer then your risk is LESS THAN 2%. I developed an ovarian cyst at age 49. My gynecologist rushed me into surgery and should have removed just the cyst (cystectomy) since my frozen section came back benign. Instead, he removed all of my sex organs. Since the uterus, ovaries, and tubes have LIFELONG functions, I am suffering the many health and quality of life effects.
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old and during a routine obgyn check, my transvaginal ultrasound showed my right ovary to be enlarged. I am taking birth control and my left ovary is 1.68/0.64 cm and my right ovary is 3.22/2.20 cm. My doctor told me that the size of the left ovary was normal considering I'm take BC and that the right ovary should be roughly the same size.
Avatar f tn 1. Two left ovarian cysts are now present. The dominant one measures up to 3.4 cm in size. It is minimally smaller than on previous study of 1/18/08 but continued follow-up ultrasound is requested as detailed above. 2. Uterine leiomyomatous disease suggested. IUD in uterus. This is what the 3rd one (May) said: Findings: The uterus measures 8.8 x 4.7 x 5.5 cm in dimension. Within the uterine fundus in the interstitium of the myometrium there is a hyperechoic lesion which measures 1.1 x 1.
Avatar m tn Hi, Such symptoms are common with ovarian cysts. If wait and watch policy does not work out then medicines can be taken for resolution of the cysts. Hence do not lose hope and all the best. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I only assume I have PCOS because my hormones are out of whack and I have ovarian cysts. My symptoms have been going on for 10+ years and no doctor ever diagnosed me with this condition or even mentioned it. I have been struggling for the last 2+ years with severe health problems and was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome). Make sure your doctor is very informative about this condition. Ask lots of questions.
3100626 tn?1341387176 IBS pain can often feel like gynecologic pain or ovarian cyst/fibroid pain so is often confused with these problems. However, if your recent ultrasound didn't find any ovarian cysts or problems with the ovaries or tubes, then your pain may be more related to the bowel than the ovaries. You still should continue to see your gynecologist to follow this and be sure. Furthermore, you should consider seeing a gastroenterologist as well as they are physicians that can help with bowels.
Avatar n tn After a couple of weeks of antibiotics The pain never went way, he sent me for an ultrasound. everything looked ok on the ultrasound, except a small cyst on my left ovary. He put me on birth control pills but nothing happend i was still having pelvic pain. He sent me to see a colon specialist and a colonoscopy was done and everything looked ok. Avatar n tn We were without health insurance for 3 years and she just had a exam. The doctor had ordered a ultrasound and found 2 cysts one 4cm and one 2, the doctor called and suggested she return in 4 months for another ultrasound. They office was searching for film done 3 years ago and after reviewing a previous ultrasound he ordered a MRI with Contrast...
Avatar f tn t blurry, but I had always thought that fluid shows up clear on an ultrasound but my cyst had echotexture) and there was a region within the cyst 1cm in diameter that had greater echotexture and is marked out on the ultrasound pictures. The doctor said that it was a cyst and I would need another ultrasound in a few months to check up on it. I have been researching all types of cysts and cannot figure out what mine is closest to. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help.
10704596 tn?1412127746 4% of ovarian cancer in your life time. The cysts in the report are usually benign. It says you have fibroids. No free fluid is good.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar n tn Many cysts do resolve themselves but the fact that you are having pain may mean they have not. Please have your doctor run another transvaginal ultrasound to check. Good luck with everything.
Avatar f tn I will have details on size of cyst and wall thickness of it later today after I pick up my report and hopefully I will be getting a 2nd ultrasound with gyno. to confirm and get second opinion. Any info would be helpful on septate/complex cysts. So scared about this. Can you have this many symptoms and have it be benign??
Avatar n tn Went in for a pap and my doctor sent me for a ultrasound and transvagina. My dr (who is a personal friend). Told me I have a small ovarian cyst 2.9 cm on my left and 2 small fibroids. He told me I could go on a birth control pill, which bcps and me do not agree, expect heavy periods for 5-10 years. Down the road could consider a d and c or ablation, but for right now follow up in 3 months. Then it dawned on me this weekend that my pain is on the right and my cyst is on the left.
Avatar f tn Majority of women do experience ovarian cysts and they generally do go away on their own without any damage. Caution that if it is on the larger size then it could rupture or twist in which you will experience extreme pain. If this happens it is an emergent situation and you need to go to the ER. Many women find that they need to get second and third opinions in order to get answers they need from someone they trust.

Avatar n tn It sounds like you have a small ovarian cyst. Most cysts are benign and resolve on their own within a few cycles / months, no intervention needed. Imaging is not exact (MRI may be more so than u/s) so it can be difficult to tell the type of cyst. Some cysts that resolve on their own can appear solid on imaging such as hemorrhagic.
