Avatar n tn Thank you very much for your answer. I forgot to mention a few things on my previous message. On my Laparoscopy no adhesions or endometriosis was found. All he found was small cysts on my left ovary, which he drained. The pain on my left side started after 10 months after I had my tubes blocked (essure procedure). Are you familiar with the this procedure? I live in a small town and here not everybody is up to date with this procedure.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry no one responded... I thought I had but evidently did not. Most ovarian cysts are benign (non-cancerous) and resolve on their own in about 3 months. If they don't resolve and you end up needing surgery, you shouldn't need to lose your ovary if the cysts are benign (as shown by frozen section) and you have a surgeon with good cystectomy (cyst removal) skills.

Avatar f tn I am concerned that a diagnosis of PCOD is just masking something worse. An ultrasound indicated the following: Cul-De Sac : small amount of fluid was noted Endometrium: Trilaminar Thickness (mm) 5 Rigth Ovary Size (cm) L 4.47 W 1.83 H 2.07 volume 8.9 Left Ovary: L 4.35cm W2.16 H 2.34 Volume 11.5(cc) Comments: Anteverted Uterus appears normal in size and contour withut masses. Endometrial cavity echo = 5.0mm Both ovaries appear slightly enlarged with more than 12 follicular cysts.
Avatar m tn Hi. I had Transvaginal Ultrasound, and got the results below but the doctor did not interpret the findings. Please help me understand and interpret to me the results. Is there something I have to be worried of? here is the result: THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, I AM REALLY SO WORRIED. Uterus: 4.8x4.9x4.4 cm Retroverted No abnormalities appreciated Endometrium: 1.3 CM Hyperechoic Right Ovary: 4.7x5.1x3.
Avatar n tn I would think ovarian cancer could be ruled out by those findings which is good. You will need to follow up with your gyn about the nabothian cyst but usually they are harmless and disappear on their own. Other than than, all sounds normal to me. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn , cyst or hemangioma). The findings in the liver and kidneys are also probably benign (e.g., cysts). These can be further characterized with MRI abdomen if further characterization desired.
Avatar f tn Hi: I understand your being worried. I am always truly worried about health/gyn problems. I've had ovarian cysts in the past - I am 45- and have been diagnosed with a fibroid in my left ovary- I had an ultrasound done. so, the best course of action is to talk to your doctor, request a pelvic/intravaginal ultrasound and take it from there...
Avatar f tn Although these traits can occur with cancer, they can also occur with benign cysts. And most cysts are benign. The average woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is very low at 1.3%. So if you do not have a genetic predisposition / family history of ovarian cancer then the odds are greatly in your favor that they are benign. Is your doctor monitoring them for now with periodic ultrasounds?
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
20867532 tn?1553716067 Ultrasound is considered pretty reliable for ovarian cysts and does not subject you to radiation as CT scans do. Ovarian cysts are common and usually resolve on their own. I don't think diarrhea is a typical symptom associated with them. Let us know what more you find out. Hope you get answers soon.
Avatar f tn Hello, You have a normal pelvic ultrasound. I'd be interested in your physical exam. If your exam findings were as unremarkable as your ultrasound I'd begin to think of non-gynecologic causes of your symptoms, specifically gastro-intestinal causes. Have you had a colonoscopy yet? If not, initial screening is recommend at age 50.
Avatar f tn I get soreness after my ultrasounds for cysts on my ovary. A few weeks ago I could feel like pressure on my ovary during bowl movements. I have had mild sourness since then. Have any one experienced these symptoms? Perhaps my age had something to do with it. I am over 60.
Avatar f tn came back with recommendations for a followup pelvic ultrasound due to incidental bilateral ovarian cysts findings. my ultrasound (pelvic AND transvaginal) results came back this week: BILATERAL OVARIAN CYSTS found uterus measures: 9.2 x 3.8 x 4.9 cm endometrial stripe: echogenic, measuring 1.0 cm right ovary measures: 4.9 x 1.9 x 3.1 cm left ovary measures: 6.9 x 4.0 x 5.1 cm left ovarian cyst: complex, containing septation, measuring - 6.1 x 4.0 x 5.
Avatar f tn It sounds like they are merely saying that the ultrasound findings are consistent with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is fairly common and is a condition of insulin resistance and usually elevated testosterone levels. Some common traits of PCOS (besides "beads" of cysts on the ovaries) are a tendency to be overweight or gain easily, excess body and facial hair, and acne.
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
1427674 tn?1283107458 Some ovarian cysts are hormonally active and result in pseudopuberty (early physical signs of puberty) In girls with hormonally active cysts, the ovarian enlargement may be mistaken for an ovarian tumor, leading to unnecessary(surgery) . Girls presenting with premature vaginal bleeding and ovarian enlargement should be genetically evaluated An ovarian cyst in a toddler/young child is often discovered by a Dr.
Avatar f tn My ultrasound showed 10-12 ovarian follicles 5-7mm in size. Is this a "normal" amount and size? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
718910 tn?1230310121 com and in the search bar type in the kind of cyst it is. I have functional cysts, so i cant give you a answer on hemorrhagic cysts. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I had an abdominal and transnational ultrasound. In the findings report they listed a polyp in my uterus. No big deal. But they also noted a cystic structure in my left ovary. To quote them; A 4.1cm cyst with a mildly thick separation and internal blood flow. So my question would be, is this something I should worry about being cancerous? I'm going for a follow up ultrasound on the 14th, and to be honest I'm nervous as hell.
