Avatar n tn I think I would call your Dr., and tell him or her the same thing you told us. Cysts can and do sometimes last a few months . Since you have the diagnosis, I'd ask what the suggested treatment plan is ..I have no idea what type of IUD you have, but one that I've seen advertised on TV clearly states that ovarian cysts are a side affect, that will disappear.. otherwise I'm sorry I can't be more helpful..
Avatar m tn Hi Nancy, Did an OB/GYN give you these results (not the ultra sound tech or nurse)? They should have given you some sort instructions in terms of follow-up. I would be worried too if they just gave me information and didn't explain it to me. Assuming you are dealing with an OB/GYN could you call them and ask the questions you have? I know it's scary sometimes, but you deserve to have all of your questions answered. In the mean time: Mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn diagnosed with adrenal mass, told I had ovarian cysts, full blood work up was done, intra vaginal ultra sound detected, had a bladder test followed by another blood test which was the CA-125, I also have enlarged uterus and was diagnosed six months ago with a fatty liver, could the fatty liver cause all these problems? This discussion is related to Calcification mass on right ovary.
Avatar f tn Left adnexa shows similar lesion with eccentric ovarian paranchyme. Bilateral ovarian dermoid cyst. The ovarian parenchyma noted peripheral to the cysts shows preserved echoes and few fillicles. “ Uterus measures 80x42x37 mm and is normal in size. Anteverted. Endometrium is normal and measures 13.2 mm. Myometrial echoes are normal. No facal lesions are seen. Please suggest me the treatment plan. What I have to do? Will the dermoid cyst cause cancer? Cyst size is large.
Avatar n tn I have the same problem with being bloated. I lost all my pregnancy weight so fast without doing anything, but all of a sudden I recently gained 15 lbs. and I look pregnant, but I'm not. It turns out I have 2 cysts on one ovary that are causing me a lot of trouble. I would suggest they give you a lap to see what is going on.

Avatar m tn I have a history of complex ovarian cysts and fibroids. Had a benign cyst removed in 1990 and CA 125 was in the single digits. Continue with cysts and fibroids which have been monitored with TV ultrasound - they remained stable so no concern. CA 125 in 2003 was 7. Now about a month ago I had lumpectomy for stage 1 breast cancer - no node involvement. Plan to start radiation soon. Had my cysts checked and new CA125 is 56! Is there a good chance I now have ovarian cancer?
Avatar n tn There is some fluid seen within the endocervical canal. My ovaries are normal in size but there are simple bilatral ovarian cysts measuring 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.4 cm and 0.8 x 1.1 x 0.8 cm with additional follicles noted within the left ovary. No free intrapelvic fluid noted. I would like to know my treatment options.
Avatar f tn I am 31 & have 4 kids. I was told that I hae several complex ovarian cysts on my left ovary. The largest is 6.2cm. I'm not sure what they're plan is for me, I'm waiting on a call from the dr. I also have a CKD called FSGS and have had 2 blood clot in my left leg. They said that this would complicate things a little. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
Avatar f tn 4% chance of Ovarian Cancer in a life time. I think your plan is a good one since Ovarian cancer gets missed. Most cysts are benign and some can cause pain and discomfort. Let us hope yours is benign.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, both benign and malignant cysts cause the same types of symptoms as they grow. If your cysts is 5cm and complex, then I would not recommend the "watch and wait" approach, but rather ask for a referral to a gynecologic oncologist. These doctors have the most experience in removing malignant tumors and their skill can make a difference in your proper staging, treatment and overall prognosis.
Avatar f tn I had 5 lg ovarian cysts that my dr. (OBGYN fertility) wanted to surgically remove from my uterus. I had a friend tell me about CASTER OIL as a remedy for naturally removing the cysts by using "cold pressed caster oil compresses". I tried this and it worked !!!- it actually removed all 5 of my cysts!! Now my doctor is upset with me. Saying it's not safe. Really and surgery is?? People have use caster oil since Before Christ. Why is this not safe?
Avatar f tn s been 4 months since i started my treatment, but the problem is that i have developed twice during this period ovarian cysts 3-5 cm, which cause me great pain. My doctor insists that visanne should prevent me from developing ovarian cysts, and every time this happens i have to take for 20 days secondary progesterone. So my question is should i look for somethng else? Maybe my thiroid or any other hormones that could cause ovarian cysts?
Avatar f tn Hi , this is the ovarian cancer forum for women diagnosed or fighting ovarian cancer, Im afraid none of us on here can answer what type of treatment she will have as we are not medical professionals . If you have any questions relating to ovarian cysts there is a very good forum where you will find a lot of information and some very nice ladies with experience of cysts who will try to help you .
682122 tn?1233186551 Ovarian cysts are mostly benign, but there are riskier in older women. From what I have been told, in the case of older women, they might remove the whole ovary to avoid regrowth of the cyst. If discovered to be cancerous, they will remove both oavaries and fallopian tubes. It also depends on what type of cyst you have. Were you told? Talk to your doctor about how he/she plans on approaching this. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Cysts in or around the ovaries may be a sign of a number of things, including but not limited to PCOS. I also have cysts around my ovaries and was diagnosed with multicystic ovarian syndrome. My OBGYN is one of the top docs in Chicago and has practiced for 30+ years. So, basically, he's seen it all. Please note, multicystic ovarian syndrome is different than polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Avatar f tn I was looking for an alternative method on internet and came a across a website called ****************.com that sold ovarian cysts kit and was wondering if anybody has tried it and what the outcome was.
Avatar n tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar n tn I agree with SandyMac, those are fairly good size cysts, and if you are having symptoms like severe pain, nausea, vomiting and tender abdomen, then you should go to an ER to make sure they has been no rupture or twisting, which can cause those symptoms. Are you under the care of a gyn? Have they suggested having them removed? If not, then you need to see someone as soon as possible to get a treatment plan and further testing done.
Avatar f tn ve had several ultrasounds and all of my u/s reports are confusing. First u/s showed bilateral ovarian cysts. Second u/s showed endometrium thickness of 9mm with bilateral ovarian cysts, hyperplasia, polyp, or even carcinoma, cervical nabothian cyst, etc.,.....after depo shot was given, the next u/s showed 7mm fibroid inside uterus, endometrium 3mm. Later, I could no longer tolerate depo shot after 6 months, due to huge red painful bruises that developed in my thighs and legs.
Avatar n tn ann There is a forum especially for women with ovarian cysts. The women there are full of knowledge about cysts and I am sure that you will find the answers you seek over there, plus a lot of support. Good luck to you!
