Avatar f tn Some ovarian cysts can be associated with decreased fertility. However, it depends on the type of ovarian cyst (endometrioma or PCOS). Other cysts like functional cysts, cystadenomas and dermoid cysts are also there. You need to get your daughter examined from a gynecologist as treatment depends on the type of cyst. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
168348 tn?1379357075 I have MSK which is Medullary Sponge Kidney and many times the question comes up if there is a corellation between MSK and Ovarian Cysts. Same holds true with thyroid patients ... many ask oftentimes if there is an association between Ovarian Cysts and Thyroid conditions. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I am CL of the Thyroid Disorders and post on the new MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) Community ..
Avatar f tn I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
Avatar n tn A urologist or nephrologist would help you with your kidney issue. A gynecologist would see you if it was an ovarian cyst. Perhaps your doctor misspoke. It happens.
Avatar f tn m not going to give you my advice on that aspect of it but I am a pro when it comes to ovarian cysts, so I will try and shed some light on ovarian cysts for you.. at least the best i can. I myself have had 3 surgeries in the past 2 years regarding ovarian cysts. I have had well over 10 ovarian cysts, 6 of which were removed. Your cyst is very small, I wouldn't worry too much about the ovarian cyst.
Avatar f tn My gynecologist was not concerned about the liver at all and ordered an ultrasound of the kidney but really believed those are cysts too. The ultrasound said they were too small to tell 100% but thinks they are cysts too. My question is could these be the start of more borderline tumors? Do borderline tumors start as cysts and progress and can they show up in the kidneys and liver? I just keep wondering if this is the start of something but it is just way too early to tell.
Avatar f tn Very few cysts (including complex ones) are malignant so the odds are very much in your favor. Most cysts resolve on their own, no treatment needed. Some cysts that appear to be complex on imaging are actually multiple simple cysts which give the appearance of one cyst with septations (hence complex appearance). 5 cm is still on the small side and it seems in most cases this would warrant monitoring it via periodic ultrasounds.
Avatar n tn the er told me i had kidney stones but did not mention my liver problems(although it was clearly stated on paper that was sent home with me)i had my test results from ct scan sent to several different specialists and when each one called me with the test results they only told me what was thier particular speciality..the liver doctor had told me about the liver cysts but didnt mention the kidney and ovarian cysts or anything else not related to his field..
Avatar n tn What exactly did they tell you about the ovarian cysts? Size? Quantity? Type? They could cause a lot of pain if they rupture and that pain lingers and causes tenderness. There's no treatment for it other than pain killers and watching for possible infection. Maybe you had one or more cysts that formed and ruptured. I don't know enough about kidney stones to comment on that possibility.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm a 35 year old Female who went in for a CT scan for kidney stones (3rd time) Turns out I have a 3mm cyst on right ovary, 2mm on Liver and 1.7mm on Spleen. I can't get into my OBGYN until October. Some research I've done is scaring me into thinking I might have a later stage Ovarian Cancer. I've never had Cysts on any of the 3 mentioned before. I've had numerous CT scans over the years for Stones and Back.
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts for many years that have been watched by my DR. The last US showed a Right ovarian cyst does not show overall clear change in size compared with 5/7/2015, but today shows what appears to be a new echogenic mural nodule measuring 0.5 cm. MRI is suggested.. What does this mean? I'm scared to death...I'm 65 and on the Kidney Transplant list and One more problem is all i can take. Could someone PLEASE explain this to me. And advice on what I shou;d do.
Avatar f tn This imbalance can cause changes in the menstrual cycle, acne, hirsutism (AKA a lot of hair where there is usually only a minimum amount like on the back), ovarian cysts, and infertility. Those with PCOS are also at an increased risk of developing insulin resistance (will have high blood sugar) which can lead to diabetes. It depends on your particular case as to how you will be treated. For instance, I take metformin and spironolactone.
Avatar n tn Interestingly I also have liver cysts - called simple cysts. There may be no connection of course. But I have read somewhere that ovarian cysts can be connected to PPIs. I also have gastro polyps as a result of long term use of PPIs. To avoid the polyps you might want to consider getting off PPIs once you have the acid reflux under control - and then seriously change your diet to make sure you don't get reflux again (less animal fats, sugars, acid food etc.).
Avatar f tn I know it can be scary but ovarian cysts are common and almost always benign, even complex ones. Yours is very small and may resolve without any treatment. In a lot of cases like this, periodic ultrasounds ate the standard of care especially if you do not have a family history of ovarian cancer. Women without OC history have a less than 2% lifetime risk. I hope this helps allay your fears!
Avatar f tn I've been suffering from major health issues surrounding my kidney since October. I was pregnant at the time and kept complaining of severe back pain, nausea and stomach pain. The doctor wrote it off as pregnancy issues. Come January I became severely ill and went to l&d. It was found that I had severe hydronophrosis and I had to have a nophrostomy tube put in.
Avatar f tn I too have Ovarian Remnent Syndrome...and have had re-curring cysts in the pelvic area. I too am an Ovarian Cancer survivior, stage 1A. I too have cysts on my kidneys. Now, all that being said, I have had a total of two surgeries and although there are more cysts...the doctors are not too keen on a 3rd sugery because of all the risks. The doctors have also mentioned that some people are just cystic and develop these things....doesn't mean that it is cancer.
94365 tn?1216087160 also do you know anything regarding the type of kidney cysts that are showing up in my kidney? , it was showing ventrally and in the mid pole of the kidney.
Avatar f tn I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think. I'd love some ideas. My kidneys could be inflamed due to the cysts and stones but don't know if that would affect the pelvic area... Thanks for any ideas.

Avatar f tn Left adnexa shows similar lesion with eccentric ovarian paranchyme. Bilateral ovarian dermoid cyst. The ovarian parenchyma noted peripheral to the cysts shows preserved echoes and few fillicles. “ Uterus measures 80x42x37 mm and is normal in size. Anteverted. Avatar n tn 7 thickened uterine stripe, two normal ovarian cysts and two Nabothian Cysts on the cervix. After the second attempt during surgery, she said I would need to see an oncologist. She told me that they would either suggest a hysterectomy or to start a preventive cancer treatment. I'm confused though because I have not yet had a biopsy or dx of cancer, yet. So why would she suggest those may be my options? My appointment with the Oncologist is on the 18th of Aug.
Avatar m tn Other possibilities which present with such pain in the lower left abdomen are diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or kidney disease. You need to consult your doctor and get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately I have never heard of spinal fluid irritating cysts on a kidney mainly because the spinal fluid is contained in the spine. If it is spinal fluid causing the irritation, then you have a major problem and should seek medical attention immediately. If you have a cyst on your kidney I would assume that you have regular medical check ups and you should bring up your concerns to your physician at your next appointment.
Avatar n tn The common possibilities in your case could be a urinary tract infection, kidney stones, cystitis, ovarian cysts,STIs,PID etc.You should consult a physician ad get evaluated. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
