Ovarian cysts symptoms spotting

Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts symptoms spotting

ovarian-cysts

I've gone 4 days with no pain, and the last time I had the pelvic pain was the day I started spotting. I just wondered if this sounds like ovarian cysts issues or if I might have something else that they are not seeing. It seems to be going away, but every time I think that, I feel the mysterious discomfort again and start getting nervous. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing major.
I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
I will see my Doctor today but I had read that sometimes ovarian cysts can wreck havoc on your hormones. Is it possible that the cyst caused my menopausal symptoms? Has this happened to anybody else? I'm not too concerned about the bleeding because it's not heavy but I also have what feels like menstrual cramps. Weird! Thank you for any feedback.
I never felt right and then I finally got answers. I had severe Endo and ovarian cysts. Endo can cause most all of your symptoms. I don't have any experience w/hair loss. I hope you feel better, I understand how frustrating it is!
This was my second visit to E.R. since 07 and they told me I have ovarian cysts. This last time the E.R. Dr. also told me I have fibroids, which another E.R. Dr. told me approx 14 years ago when I had the same problem, however, the regular gyn Dr. says it's nothing. It's my understanding that 12 months straight of no periods IS menopause and you shouldn't be getting cysts, but the Dr. says it's o.k. they sometimes form, and even though the E.R.
OK, this all sounds VERY familiar as I have recently had similar problems. Beginning about...let me think... oh.... Perhaps as much as 6 years ago, I began having radical changes in my menstrual cycle. My monthly cycles had been as regular as clockwork, then (rather suddenly) the cycles began to vary in length from as few as 18 days to as long as 32 days. I also developed mid-cycle spotting.
What is the symptoms of ovarian cysts? i'm having a scan next week on my ovary's because the doctor wants to test for them.
Do complex cysts go away without any type of treatment? Do complex cysts put you at higher risk for ovarian cancer in the future? What causes a complex cyst and how "normal" is it for women to get complex cysts? Also, are dermoids and chocolate cysts what are considered complex ovarian cysts? Are there others? I want to do everything to get it analyzed and removed.... am I being too anxious? Thank you for responding.
hi there - i too found out about 10 days ago i have a complex ovarian cyst, 7.2 cms, no symptoms - its was acidentally then they did a vag. ultrasound. I am 52, last menstrual cycle was June, other words premenopausal. Aaw gn. yes (got 2 opinions) She thinks it is NOT cancer, and is **** a repat ultra sound in 6 weeks to see if it is shrinking, growing, or staying the same. If it is the same because of my age, (nomore babies) she wants to take both ovaries and uterus out.........
Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
many medical conditions will give rise to these symptoms, or in other words the symptoms are 'nonspecific'-- those symptoms will appear along with any medical condition that activates an immune response and taxes the body's energy.
The last test they did was an abdominal CT. The only thing that came up on this was bilateral ovarian cysts. L- 4.5cm and 2cm, R-2cm. They think I have ulcers and prescribed prilosec and a referral to gastro. I had my ER follow up with a PA in my clinic. I asked her about the cysts and if they could be related to the irregular and painful menses, and she mentioned the 2cm one on the right side, and said "probably not.... that's very small.
I've had a transvaginal ultrasound that showed 2 functional cysts and what appeared to be a ruptured cyst, though I never felt any great discomfort from that (unless the uti symptoms were that). Maybe I had a uti and coincidentally my ovarian cysts started causing issues at the same time? Anyway, it's been a month and a half and I still feel vague pelvic discomfort, like below my pubic hair line. It sort of feels like burning sometimes and it comes and goes, doesn't affect my sleep.
Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience regarding treatment for cysts. I was having various symptoms (spotting between periods, pain/spotting during and after intercourse, worsening lower back pain, pelvic pressure). I was due for a pap anyway and when I went in they set me up for a transvaginal ultrasound the next day. The pap came back negative, but the ultrasound showed several "larger than normal" cysts in my left ovary and a polyp in my endometrium.
Long history of ovarian cysts and had a 12 cm. cyst and right ovary removed in 06. all pathology OK. Now I have been having ovarian cysts being followed since 10/06 with repeat ultrasounds every 3 months. Doctor said there was one, then a couple of them and they were small so he continued watching. Since Octorber 06 I have had all the symptoms that I know are related to the cysts, but now have had bleeding.
And they also can resolve themselves if they are funtional cysts. Also, ovarian cysts can mimic ovca symptoms so it is always a good idea to see your dr. and get the transvag us. Remember too that early detection and education are our best defense. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Pain diminished as periods went away, but burning abdominal pains and some cramping, lower back pain and pain in left side have returned. Now, at 48, my transvaginal ultrasound shows several small ovarian cysts, a 2 1/2cm and a 4cm fibroid and uterine thickness approx twice what they'd like to see. Endometrial biopsy yesterday won't return results for 2 wks. Needless to say, I'm a bit worried, as they are looking for signs of cancer. What are causes of endometrial thickening?
Her cycle starting being inconsistent and only lasting 20 days sometimes with spotting a few days before. These symptoms have continued. Since this has started: -she has been screened for a UTI and the tests came back normal. -she has had two follow up ultrasounds and neither of them show a new cyst. -tested her thyroid levels. tests came back normal. -seen a urologist. who states there doesn't seem to be anything visibly wrong, but wants to do a cystoscopy.
Annie, my best advice is to just wait and see. No amount of internet speculation will answer your question. Many ovarian cysts can cause identical symptoms as pregnancy. Everyone wants to know before they miss a period if they are pregnant, but the truth is, if you get a negative you will have to retest a few days later anyway. If you get a faint positive, you will drive yourself crazy wondering if you really saw the line or not.
Is another 10 days too long to wait? Do ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as ovarian cancer? Thanks for any help you can provide!
COuld be an ovarian cysts or a fibroid. Either of these can give pregnancy type symptoms. If you are still unsure about pregnancy take a hpt or see your doctor for an hcg blood test.
I've never had any pain even before I found out I had ovarian cysts. Usually its symptoms are prolonged bleeding, heavy bleeding, or absence of menses for a couple months (all of which I experienced). thatquitegirl is right, visiting a doctor would be the best thing to do to confirm any ovarian cysts and to know why youre having those abdominal pains.
