Avatar m tn I have read on ovarian cysts and symptoms and was just curious for real women to describe what symptoms they have had? For me I really never paid attention to most of them. My main symptom was Menstrual irregularities. Now that it is my 2nd round with the cysts I am more aware of these symptoms. Now I feel the pelvic pain, nausea, bloating, difficulty with urinating, and I feel exhausted all the time. Does anyone else experience that?
Avatar f tn //newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-q-and-a-hemorrhagic-ovarian-cysts-typically-dont-have-impact-on-fertility/ You can call your doctor and ask about this. Does your doctor know that you haven't had a period in almost a year? That's important info to this, so if not, call and let her know. Maybe this is a month you are going to get your period.
Avatar f tn t see anything unusual with my liver, spleen, kidneys. I came back home and went on the mayo clinic sight and was quite concerne when my symptoms were very similar to ovarian cancer. I since have developed throbing pain in my left thigh. Well I went to see my gynecologist last week and she ordered a pelvic ultrasound which I had today, and the scan shows that I do have a cyst on my left ovary.
Avatar f tn Even though you are on HRT, your ovaries may still be producing hormones especially androgens / testosterone. As far as the bladder symptoms, it sounds like you are referring to Interstitial Cystitis (IC)? Ovarian cysts or any pelvic mass can put pressure on the bladder but I have not heard of it causing interstitial cystitis per se. Dietary changes and bladder training are helpful in managing IC symptoms.
1264955 tn?1381782221 Has anybody here been to the neurology clinic at the Mayo or in their inpatient pain treatment program?
Avatar m tn Some here on the board are not real pleased with the Mayo clinic. It seems they have their own set of standards to give out a dx of MS. I personally know nothing about them and wish you the best....hoping for that answer.
582396 tn?1259863489 I am over the moon excited that DH got a 5-10 day appointment at Mayo Clinic - Dec. 10. Anyone have any experiences on what to expect etc?
627388 tn?1222198212 Has anyone from the MS forum ever seek treatment for their MS at the Mayo Clinic? If so, how was your as your experience with physicians from the clinic? I am considering driving up to Mayo at some point if my neurologist in town can't definatively diagnosis me.
Avatar f tn Just to add to what marie3B said, the most common form of Ovarian Ca - Epitheal gives the symptoms marie3B stated.
Avatar f tn I have just made an appointment for a full work up at the Mayo Clinic, does anyone know the tests involved and how much they charge? Thank you!
Avatar m tn Truthfully, I've heard one of the best MS Clinics in the US is the Mellen Center at Cleveland Clinic. You might try checking out http://www.mscare.org They list all the clinics available, etc. My neuro said the clinic at Cincinatti isn't that great but thinks Cleveland Clinic is really good. I've never heard of the Mayo Clinic being highly rated for MS, but more for heart desease.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar f tn Well any kind of growth, tumor or injury to the brain can cause cognitive and behavioral problems. I don't know where you live, but the Mayo Clinic is really a great hospital. Why have they not removed the cyst? I went to a really great neurologist in Phoenix named Dr. Christine Harter and went to a great hospital called St. Joseph's in Phoenix as well, since Mayo would not take my insurance. (They are really picky). God Bless you and your family.
709337 tn?1241885213 Hi, this is my first time that they have found an actual cyst. (first time I had the ultrasound done also). If this one does go away on it's own then I am sure that has been my issues in the past. I guess I will be back on birth control :( I would definitely have your gyno check you for cyst so the proper course of action can be taken. I have been learning a lot about them for the past week since I found out that I have one.
1016941 tn?1292444386 Ovarian cysts usually go away on their own, however, ovarian cysts can persist and get worse. If too many cysts cover the ovaries, eggs to fail to develop or be released. If this is the case for you, you'll need laparoscopic surgery to remove the cyst(s). Do you notice any other symptoms during your cycle? There could be one of a number of fertility challenges.
Avatar f tn Hi there. You've come to the right place. Relax. They are saying you have a tipped uterus (very common), small fibroids (also very common and ignored unless get big and cause a lot of bleeding) in your uterus, the 2.6 cm possible dermoid cyst (this is small and can likely be removed via laporascope and over 95% are benign) and a small cyst on your left ovary which is something that happens every month as a byproduct of ovulation (normal).
20833372 tn?1528247675 Take a deep breath... I know, more easily said than done. Ovarian cysts are common and are almost always benign / non-cancerous (including large ones). Most resolve on their own, no intervention needed. However, yours is past that point due to its size so will need to be surgically removed. If the frozen section done at the time of surgery is benign, a surgeon with good cystectomy skills should be able to remove just the cyst and save your ovary or at least most of it.
Avatar f tn A couple years ago I had the Mirena put in because I was having ovarian cysts. This helped until 5 months ago. Now they are back with a vengeance. I had the Mirena removed a couple of weeks ago so I could try other bc options. I am wondering if anyone else gets cysts back to back like this? I feel as though I am losing my mind being in this constant pain. I am a healthy 29 year old with one child.
Avatar f tn The birth control is to shrink the cysts. (Did the doctor say cysts or tumors? There's a difference.) You really don't cut out an ovarian cyst if it is fluid filled, you either try to aspirate the fluid with a needle or else to shrink it by going on birth-control pills. It's a lot better to go on the pill and shrink them than to remove the ovaries, so I'd be glad the doctors are saying that is a choice.
522699 tn?1250590716 I posted this on Ovarian cyst Forum because that was what I was thinking I might have - now I have had an email from someone asking if I thought about Ovarian cancer as the symptoms are very similar so I am posting here to see what people think. Sorry it is so long. Oh I am 35 years old and have 2 children. I have always had more cramping, swelling and pain related to ovulating than actually menstruating...
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn I was dx at age 37 with stage 1a ovarian cancer. I am glad I reported my symptoms to my gyn. I never suspected ovarian cancer. My main issue was urinary urgency and frequency. The odds are in your favor that it isn't ovarian cancer but it never hurts to investigate symptoms. Best of luck to you.
792410 tn?1270315500 After being told by three different surgeons at three of the finest cancer centers in the world that I was not a candidate for surgery, and would be on chemo for the rest of my life, a surgeon at The Mayo Clinic said without hesitation that he thought I was a candidate for surgery and so I'm having surgery there on November 16th. The other surgeons said I was inoperable! I needed to learn to live with it because it was there to stay.
