Avatar m tn As the other poster said, larger ovarian cysts can cause urinary urgency. So can large uterine fibroids. Most cysts go away on their own within 2 or 3 cycles so I would not worry much unless your symptoms worsen especially if you start having pain which could be a sign of the cyst rupturing, leaking, or twisting the ovary. Since most cysts resolve on there own, there should not be any impact on fertility.
Avatar m tn t t know where to put it so I put it here.
Avatar f tn In October I went to the ER for excruciating pain in my right side. I thought it was my appendix. A CT scan showed I had a 6x3x3 cm cyst in my left ovary so that lead them to believe I had one rupture on my right side to cause the pain. I'm usually 115lbs, have been for years. I work out regularly and I eat well. I had noticed weight gain over the last few months but I attested it to stress and lack of sleep.

Avatar f tn I have endometriosis, ovarian vein thrombosis, history of ovarian cysts, history of miscarriages, and menstrual problems. I have one daughter with my husband and 2 daughters with my ex-husband I want other children but it doesn't look it'll happen due to I'm 42 years old.
1473788 tn?1286975127 I am 23 years old and I have had so many ovarian cysts rupture that I have lost count! It's affecting my life dramatically. I have a cyst rupture every few months. I was put on birth control to regulate the growth but I have 2 different types of cysts and the larger ones that my fallopian tubes wrap around aren't controlled by the medication. When I was 16 I was having pelvic discomfort and my abdomen was distended. I looked about 6 months pregnant.
1295419 tn?1276822872 In the last 8 weeks I have had 3 ovarian cysts rupture. The first two were shortly before my period started and caused intense pain which landed me in the ER. The last was yesterday, which was also painful and a trip to the ER. I haven't started my period yet but I assume I will soon. I had one other ovarian cyst rupture in my lifetime which was about 6 months after going off birth control and 6 months before getting pregnant. I have so many of the PCOS symptoms.
Avatar n tn If the pain and chills continue, or if she develops a fever she needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist for ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are usually benign growths and are not as uncommon as some people think. The only thing that causes ovarian cysts to become an emergency if they are large, if it is causing the ovary to twist, or if an infection develops. However, I believe that the cause of your wife's discomfort if from a rupturing ovarian cyst. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
3183328 tn?1351183517 I have ovarian cysts and have had them since March 2011. I finished my period the beginning of this week and before I started my period I think one of my cysts ruptured because I was in excruciating pain from last Friday- Sunday. I started my period and it ended I think Tuesday. Well now I have cramping and I don't know why. I normally have severe cramping before my period, not after. What do you think it could be?
Avatar f tn I am now on probation. I have ovarian cysts, so I deal with alot of pain. I had a prescription for oxycodone(tylox), that ran out and I took a couple of my mother-in-laws hydrocodone(lortab) to help the pain one day. I have to be drug screened for probation now. Will they be able to tell the difference between the two opiates? I know I should not have taken someone elses medicine but I hurt.
Avatar n tn I definitely agree to go see your OB/GYN....I have a history of rupturing ovarian cysts...I've had 4 laprascopic surgeries removing them as well as my appendix because of them. They hurt something awful!!! The hard part was that it hurts the absolute worst right when they rupture you think you may die....But the main rupture only lasts about an hour or so...So by the time I got to the ER the first time this happened I felt bad that my pain was lessened by the time they got me into the Dr...
Avatar f tn I do have a history of inherited abnormal ovarian cysts, one rupturing and me almost dying last year, major open stomach surgery, they saved my ovary. I was bleeding internally. Also, I have irregular menstrual cycles always since I was 14. This last bout, I didn't have a cycle for 10 months. When I finally had one, it lasted for 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn I went in with severe stomach pain, fever, runny bottom, etc. During my CT, they also found an ovarian cyst, but they did not say anything about it rupturing. They say I have to have it removed. I went through CT, Ultrasound, Colonoscopy, EKG, Blood work, all relevent tests.....I wonder if there is something going on they do not realize with me that could be similar to your situation!
Avatar n tn When a cyst gets to 5 cm and larger, it is considered big enough to warrant surgical removal. Hermorrhagic cysts are in the process of breaking down or rupturing, that is to say, leaking fluids and/or blood into your pelvic area that now must be reabsorbed. This process HURTS a lot and can take days or weeks before you get some relief. You also have to watch for the possibility of infecton. In addition, complex cysts must be watched because these are the more suspicious ones to have.
Avatar m tn The above poster is right, an ectopic pregnancy would need emergency surgery to keep the tube from rupturing. Most cysts over 5 cm are usually removed by surgical means. Push for your doctor to do something sooner rather than later. Prayers coming your way. Keep us posted!
Avatar f tn I always have them, all women get them if they are on their period and if your pregnant you actually have one the entire time. If it gets large than it could potentially cause problems like rupturing which is extremely painful I know from experience.
Avatar f tn It talks about Reflux Menstruation. I have ovarian cysts that rupture every month, and endo. The endo was either caused from my cysts rupturing or when i had my c-section. If u can find the book, i highly recommend getting it and reading it. It has helped me understand the Endo alot.
630135 tn?1241043958 I assume the cancer cells will spread throughout your whole abdominal area. But what really are the chances of a complex cyst rupturing? Anyone have any thoughts? Just curious because every little pain has me wondering now! Big hugs to everyone!!!!!!
1973052 tn?1332868276 History of previous ovarian cysts Irregular menstrual cycles Increased upper body fat distribution Early menstruation (11 years or younger) Infertility Hypothyroidism or hormonal imbalance Tamoxifen (Soltamox) therapy for breast cancer
Avatar f tn 1) The paratubal cyst is unrelated to the ovarian cysts, and is something that you were probably born with but which enlarged at some point for reasons that we do not understand 2) Regarding your ovarian cysts, what was the pathology? If they were follicle or corpus luteum cysts, then these are what we call 'physiologic' cysts. Physiologic cysts develop in women every month as the egg matures and is released, and usually are not greater than 25 mm (about one inch) in diameter.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, both benign and malignant cysts cause the same types of symptoms as they grow. If your cysts is 5cm and complex, then I would not recommend the "watch and wait" approach, but rather ask for a referral to a gynecologic oncologist. These doctors have the most experience in removing malignant tumors and their skill can make a difference in your proper staging, treatment and overall prognosis.
Avatar n tn i had cysts that were rupturing and reoccuring and they are going to do a laprocop to look for endo and remove the cysts
Avatar f tn My OBGYN is recommending that I have laparoscopic surgery for complex, thick walled ovarian cysts (2 cysts being approximately 3 cm each) in 2 weeks. I would appreciate anyone's input. Here's my story: *Rt. ovary/fallopian tube removed 13 months ago; diagnosed with hemorrhagic cyst; endometriosis; serosal adhesions. Current infomation was gathered from 2 ultrasounds, a CT scan and a MRI. Information includes: * Aug. 23 Ultrasound revealed 2 cysts measuring 2.9 and 2.
Avatar n tn Are your cysts functional or complex? I have a complex cyst that I have been worried about it rupturing and I was told on this board that usually functional cysts rupture not comlex. So I was just wondering what yours were. Thanks and I hope you get an answer to your question soon!!!
Avatar f tn Hi I was told that I have a ovarian cyst on my left ovary when I went to the doctor. And they told me to comeback in about two months for another ultrasound to see if it gets larger or shrinks.
