Avatar f tn I do not think menstrual clotting is an indication of a rupture. Cysts are outside the uterus (if they are true ovarian cysts), and ruptured ones would not show up in menstruation.
Avatar f tn I get functional ovarian cysts. The kind that form during ovulation. Then rupture. Sometimes i get pain that goes all the way up to my ribs, and in my lower back. When mine rupture they disspell fluid into my abdomin. And the fluid irritates my insides. Call your doctor and make a appointment to be safe. If the pain gets worse or you develope a fever, go straight to the ER, cause it could be something else. Motrin helps with the pain.
Avatar f tn Majority of women do experience ovarian cysts and they generally do go away on their own without any damage. Caution that if it is on the larger size then it could rupture or twist in which you will experience extreme pain. If this happens it is an emergent situation and you need to go to the ER. Many women find that they need to get second and third opinions in order to get answers they need from someone they trust.
Avatar f tn I've had all the symptoms of ovarian cancer. End of April I had blood in my urine followed my back pain, flank pain, frequent urination & pelvic pain. No UTI. I eventually became so distended that I could not eat. My period was ten days late. I felt my pelvic floor shift down and family heaviness down there. When my cycle did start it was extremely painful. My normal is always on time and no pain. I had an ultrasound done four days later and ovaries and kidneys are normal.
Avatar m tn I have this recurring pain on my left side from the narrowest part of my waist to my low abdomen. In December it was really bad and I went to the ER. They did an ultrasound and said the pain was caused by ovarian cysts. That part wasn't surprising because I've had them before, but it surprised me that the pain could radiate so far up my side. Has anyone else had this?
1284894 tn?1272171454 I was taking a shower and all of the sudden I had the worst pain I had ever felt in my lower right pelvic region. It was so bad that I had to have my husband help me out of the shower. I called my dr. thinking it was my appendix and they had me come in right away. By this time, I am sobbing because I am in so much pain. They sent me for a transvaginal ultrasound and saw that there was fluid in the cul-de-sac and they knew that I had a ruptured cyst.
Avatar f tn Ok so my pelvic area feels ok now still a little achey though. Do ovarian cysts cause sharp jolting pain to my backside. Does this sound like an ovarian cyst? For any ladies that have had them what were ur symptoms? On a scale of 1 to 10 what would u rate ur pain? The other day mine was about a 12! I was bawling my eyes out! I do have PCOS (diagnosed last yr) BUT I have never had a cyst before.
Avatar f tn I have posted here before in greater detail of my problem, but to make a long story somewhat short... This past year, I had three ovarian cysts rupture (2 were diagnosed -through u/s for the second rupture, and through ct scan for the third rupture). I also had the exact episode happen in February, but did not know what it was as I did not seek medical attention. I had been having these episodes happen numerous times over the years, but never knew what it was until now.
Avatar n tn my mom has a history of ovarian cysts she thinks that i had a cysts rupture last week.
Avatar f tn Yea the symptoms are pretty common with ovarian cysts sometimes they dissolve/rupture and go away on there own, and sometimes they don't. I have that pain daily bc I have a large complex cyst hanging around ugh I would suggest getting to the doctor as soon as you can bc with ovarian cysts cancer is always a concern.
Avatar f tn Sudden and severe pelvic pain may be a sign of torsion or twisting of the ovary on its blood supply, or rupture of a cyst with internal bleeding. This warrants immediate medical attention. Check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn had to go deliver a baby, so I lied in the room in horrible pain for a couple hours; when he finally came back in, the pain was gone. He did a pelvic ultrasound a couple days later and found fluid, which led to a diagnosis of a ruptured ovarian cyst. Nothing was done after that. The next month, in late August, the same thing happened again, but this time I went to the ER where I was given Morphine and medicine for nausea.
1473788 tn?1286975127 I am 23 years old and I have had so many ovarian cysts rupture that I have lost count! It's affecting my life dramatically. I have a cyst rupture every few months. I was put on birth control to regulate the growth but I have 2 different types of cysts and the larger ones that my fallopian tubes wrap around aren't controlled by the medication. When I was 16 I was having pelvic discomfort and my abdomen was distended. I looked about 6 months pregnant.
1503875 tn?1290902087 On monday night I arrived home and rushed to the bathroom because I felt I had to pee very urgently however basically nothing came out and a couple minutes later I had very intense stabbing abdominal and pelvic pain. Pain so intense I was laying on the floor for nearly 30 minutes unable to move or reach my cellphone to call for help. I would compare the pain to labor pain even though I have never been pregnant thats how I imagine it. Eventually the pain subsided for a moment and I called 911.
Avatar f tn Once the pain becomes less a pelvic examination and an ultrasound scan will help make the diagnosis. Ovarian cysts (rupture or torsion), and endometriosis are the major causes of pain. Consult your gynaecologist for an evaluation. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Hello I see I am not the only one that is frustrated with the pain of complex ovarian cysts. I have been in constant pain and pressure in my pelvic vaginal area for the past 9 months. My doctor kept putting it down to menopause and put me on hormone replacement tablets and still suffer with pain. I had a colonoscopy recently it they picked up inflammation in the bowel and my doctor referred me to a gastroenterologist thinking I may have colitis or crohns disease.
Avatar f tn I am new member but have been reading previous posts and am so glad to hear from others that understand what it is like to live with ruptured ovarian cysts! In the past twelve months, I have had five ruptured ovarian cysts (always on my left side) and had all the symptoms discussed by others. I had a cyst rupture a week ago today and it is the worst one I have ever had. The pain has been much worse than previous ruptured cysts and has lasted longer. Usually, my peak pain lasts a few days.
Avatar f tn I'm not a Dr so I can't answer your question, but I feel your doing what you need to have done by going to see your gyn.
Avatar n tn What exactly did they tell you about the ovarian cysts? Size? Quantity? Type? They could cause a lot of pain if they rupture and that pain lingers and causes tenderness. There's no treatment for it other than pain killers and watching for possible infection. Maybe you had one or more cysts that formed and ruptured. I don't know enough about kidney stones to comment on that possibility.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar m tn They can twist and cause severe pain. They can also rupture producing peritonitis, or irritation of the abdominal and pelvic cavity. It is best to get them removed. When there are large number of small cysts it can cause the ovaries to enlarge, and if left untreated polycystic ovaries can occur leading to infertility problems. You should have an exam and pap smear done .This is merely an advice and not a substitute of clinical examination.
Avatar n tn t release. They are ususally recurrent, often cause pain then rupture on their own. Common treatment is birth control pills which stops ovulation. See a GYN so you can avoid the ER next time.
Avatar f tn I have the same types of pain myself when my cysts rupture. It's an intense cramping and I almost always have it on my right side. There's really nothing to do about it. However I started the Adkins diet (low carbs low sugar) and I've noticed a huge difference. It might not work for everybody but I have noticed a change in how painful the cysts bursting feels. Not to mention sex is much easier for me too. Like I said it may not work for everybody but it has for me. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn Hello, I will be having a vaginal hysterectomy leaving my ovaries due to multiple pelvic prolapse and chronic pelvic pain. I have been torn over this decision for years since nothing was pathalogically wrong. To prepare for surgery I have been obtaining all my records for my surgeon who was concerned about my last two transvaginal scans. I was only informed I had a small cyst nothing to worry about at that time.
Avatar f tn Over a month ago I started some light bleeding. I thought it was my period, because the flow got heavier, then lighter again, but it hasn't stopped. I've had a history of ovarian cysts. I don't think it was a cyst rupture because I've been told that that is very painful. I haven't had any pelvic pain or cramping during this unknown bleeding. My actual period started and I've been bleeding VERY heavily for 10 days now.
