1284894 tn?1272171454 I came upon this because I just had an ovarian cyst rupture two days ago. I went to the ER, where it was diagnosed. I have been looking everywhere to find out how long the pain and discomfort lasts. I was told ruptured cysts happen all of the time, take ibuprofen, follow up later with your gynocologist. While I feel somewhat better, I'm still in a fair amount of pain and my abdomen is distended.
Avatar f tn Majority of women do experience ovarian cysts and they generally do go away on their own without any damage. Caution that if it is on the larger size then it could rupture or twist in which you will experience extreme pain. If this happens it is an emergent situation and you need to go to the ER. Many women find that they need to get second and third opinions in order to get answers they need from someone they trust.
1473788 tn?1286975127 I am 23 years old and I have had so many ovarian cysts rupture that I have lost count! It's affecting my life dramatically. I have a cyst rupture every few months. I was put on birth control to regulate the growth but I have 2 different types of cysts and the larger ones that my fallopian tubes wrap around aren't controlled by the medication. When I was 16 I was having pelvic discomfort and my abdomen was distended. I looked about 6 months pregnant.
Avatar f tn I am not a Dr by any means, but can tell you experience about a ruptured cyst. I had numerous ovarian cysts, some would rupture, some would need surgery. When I would have a rupture usually it was a very serious, intense, double me over type pain that would ease in a couple of hours, but still feel tender. My last cyst that ruptured however did become a more emergent surgery for me.
564029 tn?1216423219 There are different types of cysts, you can go to the link on the top of this page on the right that says health forum, and there is a list for all types of ovarian cysts. Did your dr. tell you what kind of cyst you have? Have you had a TV/US? During your reproductive years it is very common to get functional ovarian cysts that can disappear after a few menstrual cycles. Could it be your doctor is doing a watchful waiting to see if they go away? How long have you had the cyst?
Avatar f tn I do not think menstrual clotting is an indication of a rupture. Cysts are outside the uterus (if they are true ovarian cysts), and ruptured ones would not show up in menstruation.
Avatar n tn my mom has a history of ovarian cysts she thinks that i had a cysts rupture last week.
Avatar n tn i was told i have two ovarian cyst one on each side. I was told one ruptured and they found fluids. How long will the pain last. My cyst are only 1. something centimeters.
Avatar f tn And if they leak or rupture, that can be painful. Most ovarian cysts resolve on their own in 2 to 3 cycles. Some doctors prescribe birth control pills in hopes that will help them shrink. How long have you been having pain?
Avatar n tn 95% of all ovarian cysts are benign.. At that size it will need to be removed... Good luck...
Avatar n tn Yes this is appropriate for ovarian cyst treatment. She may have some bloating like a period and even carmping for a couple of days. Cysts are eggs that form and don't release. They are ususally recurrent, often cause pain then rupture on their own. Common treatment is birth control pills which stops ovulation. See a GYN so you can avoid the ER next time.
Avatar f tn Every since last September of 2009 I have had a cyst rupture every single month. They develop I start to feel them and by that time its too late and they rupture that night. I have had a total of 7 cyst rupture so far like I said every single month. I was on Mirena for a year and a half then started developing these cyst so in Jan of 2010 I had the Mirena removed and was put on the Nuvra ring, but that doesnt seem to help either. Has any one else had this same problem?
Avatar f tn I have posted here before in greater detail of my problem, but to make a long story somewhat short... This past year, I had three ovarian cysts rupture (2 were diagnosed -through u/s for the second rupture, and through ct scan for the third rupture). I also had the exact episode happen in February, but did not know what it was as I did not seek medical attention. I had been having these episodes happen numerous times over the years, but never knew what it was until now.
Avatar f tn I thought it was an ingrown hair, like I’ve gotten before, but it’s gotten bigger within the past couple days and gets more and more painful. I’ve had ovarian cysts before, and rupture, but I’m not sure this is a vaginal cyst or not.
1302337 tn?1273197405 Usually they are simple cysts though. It is rare for a complex cyst to rupture. Do you think your cyst ruptured??
10299247 tn?1409208876 They are ovarian cysts I have had them for about a year now. And if I walk to stand for to long they hurt so bad like really bad cramps only on the left and right side never anywherr else and its always in the same spot.
718910 tn?1230310121 com and in the search bar type in the kind of cyst it is. I have functional cysts, so i cant give you a answer on hemorrhagic cysts. Hope you feel better.
1577584 tn?1296185081 The most common cysts are fluid filled. When cysts break down or rupture, the fluid escapes and must be reabsorbed by the body. This process is painful, I guess because the body reacts to the fluid like it doesn't belong there. The cyst is probably placing some pressure on the urinary tract and bowels. All these parts are very close together and it does not take much to cause discomfort to other body parts when a cyst develops and presses against something.
574948 tn?1251825767 Last tuesday I had a right ovarian cyst rupture. I woke up about 4:30am in really bad pain. I went to the ER and they did a CT scan showing the rupture. They gave me hydrocodone and I already had some for nausea. I have called into work three days since, because I still have some pain and feel nauseated. The meds make me tired and I fall asleep for a couple of hours. The doctor said to call back in a week if there is still pain and I feel nauseated. Does anyone know what they will do?
Avatar f tn Was that a transvaginal ultrasound? The problem with larger cysts is that they can twist or rupture and that is extremely painful.. Please don't worry about cancer at this stage of the game. There are a lot of other symptoms with Ovarian Cancer ; bloating, feeling of fullness, gastric problems, etc. Remember that 95 % of all cysts are benign...
Avatar f tn I had an ovarian cyst rupture in december of 2008, I felt horrible for maybe 7 days after...although it turns out mine didnt completely rupture it was a slow leak which was leaking for a few days and needed surgery in the end. How long ago did yours rupture??? I'd say give it a few days and if you still feel bad see your doctor just to check on things. Good luck!!
