1872158 tn?1320302628 Hello Indah I am actually 14 years old and I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since I was 10 years old. There is no real cure for ovarian cysts but waiting it out until they naturally burst which can be very very painful. There are some solutions to it, doctors say for females the cysts occur because of our monthly cycle, its never too late to take birth control which is one of the solutions to cysts but it all depends on the person.
Avatar f tn You should not be left to that kind of pain without a solution for at least relief from the pain. If you cannot walk, go to the bathroom etc, how much worse does it need to get? I vote second opinion.
Avatar n tn i have a blood filled cyst i found out today--besides ibuprofin 3 times a day what can i do to alleiviate some of pain? And is this an early sign of ovarian cancer or are people freaking me out????
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.

Avatar n tn But in the end you know your duaghter best. You might get a second medical opinion to help you decide. Ovarian cysts are fairly common and can go away by themselves. Is your daughter in pain? I know I had one that very painful to the point that I was hospitalized, because of the pain. But I was older than your daughter. A second oppinion may help you decide which of the options is best for your daughter. I hope I was of some help.
Avatar n tn Since my gyno continues to tell me my gas, bloating, constant BMs and lower left-sided pelvic pain is NOT related to my ovarian cysts, she sent me to a gastroenterologist. I had a CT scan yesterday that only showed my IUD and "bilateral prominent ovaries". I briefly spoke with the GI doctor who said this could be due to my menstrual cycle. Since having the IUD, I have not had a period now in over a year. And he did say "prominent" meant "enlarged". So.....

3100626 tn?1341387176 Could this pain be cysts. In so much pain really getting scared my mom died.
Avatar f tn I am going in for my hundredth (LOL) U/S tomorrow, I have had this pain before with no signs of cysts as well as very small cysts. My gyno has mentioned removing my right ovary with a full hystorectomy. I am grasping at straws as to what to do.......... I feel my pain tolerance is normal but the pain I am having in my abdomen with these cysts ranging in sizes, is unbearable most of the time. I am very confused as to what the right decision is and if there is anything else I can do?
1473788 tn?1286975127 I am 23 years old and I have had so many ovarian cysts rupture that I have lost count! It's affecting my life dramatically. I have a cyst rupture every few months. I was put on birth control to regulate the growth but I have 2 different types of cysts and the larger ones that my fallopian tubes wrap around aren't controlled by the medication. When I was 16 I was having pelvic discomfort and my abdomen was distended. I looked about 6 months pregnant.
1156733 tn?1262479295 I am in pain every day and on painkillers. Both the pain and painkillers are making working very difficult. I have seen a gyn onc. and he wants to perform a subtotal hystero, which means leaving only the cervix. I asked him to try and save my right ovary so I won't have to start on HRT as I'm afraid of the risk of breast cancer.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
Avatar f tn s just plain BIG and I cannot think of any solution other than surgical removal. Exceptionally large cysts tend to be benign because if it were cancer at that size, I would think you would be extremely ill by now. It is crowding out your essential body parts with its size alone and can cause all kinds of functional problems such as inability to relieve oneself properly in the restroom.
Avatar f tn When the follicles are forming small cysts may be present in the normal ovary. These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought.
Avatar f tn By the info that I gave you above, is it likely that it could still be cancer? Years ago my sister had an 11 pound benign ovarian cyst. Are cysts hereditary? I am 45 years old. I have pain on my left side. The pain is more severe when I have to urinate and my bladder is full. It is also more painful when I need to empty my bowels. I used to have severe IBS with loose bowels. Most often now, I am very constipated. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts? I started using the nuva ring almost two weeks ago. I thought the pain was gone (as it had disappeared for over a week) then all of a sudden this weekend the pain returned with the same intensity. Does this mean the cysts are growing? I am growing extremely frustrated with the pain.
Avatar m tn I have been on pain pills since leaving the er but the pain is getting worse and my stomach gets larger everyday.
