Avatar f tn So, I meet a really wonderful man and when we had sex it was very painful and the bloating, cramping and pain afterward lasted for days, so I go to my OB and they find an ovarian cyst on each ovary. They said "Let's watch it over the course of a few months and see if it goes away on its own or bursts". I agree that's probably fine to do, but I just can't handle intercourse and it's becoming a real strain on this very new relationship.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts, no matter the size, can cause a lot of pain. Scar tissue can also cause pelvic pain, that is why it is important that you get the TVUS and see what is going on.
Avatar f tn I just went and got an ultra sound and found out that I have ovarian cysts. Will I still be able to get an abortion? I really did not want to get surgery, I wanted to take some medications.
Avatar f tn I suspect your doctor took the appendix because the scar tissue and ovarian cysts left him unclear about the type of cysts you had. It is impossible to tell without final pathology. If you did have some redness and scar tissue, this may save you from a future surgery down the road. I am now 40 and have never had an issue in relation to the removal of my appendix when I was 15. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Avatar f tn Adhesions (scar tissue) could have formed which can cause pain. An ovarian remnant is also a possibility. And if you have endometriosis, that may be the cause of the pain. Hopefully, your doctor can determine the cause.

Avatar n tn i was told i have two ovarian cyst one on each side. I was told one ruptured and they found fluids. How long will the pain last. My cyst are only 1. something centimeters.
Avatar f tn Shortly after the C-sec, I began having many problems with pelvic pain and several surgeries to remove ovarian cysts (simple corpus luteal cysts) and scar tissue. The issue of the pevlic instability came into question, for which I saw a physiatrist and underwent prolotherapy and physical therapy. I was still having problems with ovarian cysts and was put on continuous birth control to prevent ovulation. I ended up having 4 surgeries for the cysts and adhesions.
Avatar f tn I am 47 and have had a total hysterectomy in 10/08 after several ovarian cysts and adhesion's. My right ovary was imbedded in my bladder and when I had surgery, the doctor told me he wasn't sure if he got all the spores and that my ovary may grow back. He didn't want to damage my bladder. Now I am having severe abdominal pain and he thinks I have a cyst but until the transvaginal ultrasound on Friday, 3/26, he won't know for sure what it is.
Avatar f tn hi!...i am 25 yrs. old and have found out that i have ovarian cysts. My ultrasound result is this: There are two, closely apposed complex cystic pelvoabdominal masses, more to the right, each cyst measures 10 x 7.7 cms. and 9x6.9 cms. A complex cystic mass is also noted at the left adnexa measuring about 7 x 4.3 cms. Impression: Complex cystic masses as described probably due to bilateral ovarian dermoid. the cysts on the right may represent a single mass with loculation and lobulated contour.
Avatar n tn turned out to be an endometrioma, while they were in there they discovered that I had a lot of them and mass amounts of scar tissue. Since then, I dont remember a month where I wouldnt have a cyst of some kind on either of my ovaries. They did tell me that I wasnt lokely to be able to have a child due to the extent of my endometriosis, which I did and I now have a 3 year old son.
Avatar f tn Have you hand a transvaginal ultrasound? Ovarian cysts can cause lots of pain for some people and others don't even know they have one. They can come and go with a womans monthly cycle. Sometimes people have cysts that rupture and those can wreak havoc with your system. I think I would start with a gyn appt and request a transvaginal ultrasound.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a laparotomy 3 weeks ago to remove bilateral dermoid ovarian cysts (8cm on my left ovary, 15cm on my right ovary). And for the last week i have had a stitch like pain on my right side just under my rib cage at the bottom. Can someone tell me if they have experienced the same thing? Or what it is down to? Other than that i feel fine, and have no other pain.
130737 tn?1214861465 Good Morning To All! I am 30yrs and have had reoccuring ovarian cysts since 2002. Three of them ruptured (the biggest being 3.2cm) resulting in laproscopies. Last year i had one removed from my left ovary that was 9cm. no cancer... i was cut open for that one. A week ago i had an ultrasound done because i have been having multiple periods with severe cramping; and wouldnt you know i have ANOTHER cyst, but this one is on my right ovary and measures 6cm x 4cm x 6cm.
720174 tn?1230507108 Pain from cysts is very normal even though it's constant. Your cysts may be twisting on your ovaries or one of them might have ruptured. If the pain becomes unbearable or you develop a fever, go to the ER and they will do an ultrasound to see how things are. Good luck, hope everything turns out okay.
Avatar f tn I had my left ovary removed due to a complex cysts. It was done by laparotomy (Feb. 09), my question is I am getting the same feeling on the same side when I had the cyst. Is it possible that cyst has developed again without an ovary being there? The pain at the moment is about 2-3, bearable. It comes and goes not constant, I take Aleve for it. No, I have not been back to my gyno except for the follow up due to surgery back in Feb.
178345 tn?1242536246 I know I have asked this before..I am experiencing lower back pain..just like before the hysterectomy...should I see my surgoen since it has been a year since my surgery??? I told my Gyn at the last visit she really didnt say much about it..it has been bothering me quite a bit..also if it is scar tissue or adhesions can they detect that through a sonogram or ct scan??? I am not sure what to do...Thanks for your help. Gia :) P.S. I have briefly heard of Ovarain Remnant Syndrome could it be that?
Avatar f tn Either one of the three types of cysts can cause serious pain and if you could have scar tissue as well that could be causing some of the pain too. Let me know how it goes.
Avatar f tn I have ovarian remnants on both sides. Also, the right side has developed ovarian cysts which is causing a great deal of pain and abdominal bloating. My concern is that none of my doctors have spoken with me about ovarian cancer. Is this normal that they are not worried? I was diagnosed with cervical cancer three years ago and had a hysterectomy, two years later they had to take my ovaries. I am having a great deal of pain on my right side.
Avatar f tn I am also haveing sharp pains where my right ovary was. My cysts on my right ovary were all benign, but I have a family history of ovarian cancer. I'm very scared now. Even though things were benign, can I still get ovarian cancer now with everything gone? Still haveing lots of discharge. Is that normal 3 months after surgery? Thanks for your input!

1826858 tn?1323796104 Dr ordered transvaginal ultrasound of left ovary due to severe lower back pain and abdominal pain. If anyone can explain the results please. Ovary measures 3.7 x 2.9 x 2.6 cm. with 2 nonspecific solid appearing lesions one is isoechoic measures 1.1 x 1.2 x 1.3 cm with no internal blood flow. The other is hyperechoic messuring 7 x 9 x 4 mm with increased blood flow. What does all this mean?
Avatar f tn I think you are describing an ovarian cyst "bursting". I had my first ovarian cyst (right ovary) when i was 13 years old. I collapsed in the hallway and my dad had to carry me into the car and was wheeled in the hospital. The doctors told me it was painful until the cyst "bursts". I was throwing up, but I was told that wasn't a normal symptom. Once it "burst" I felt completely fine. I've been on birth control to prevent having ovarian cysts.
501229 tn?1210133631 I am 23 years old and diagnosis with ovarian cysts. I am really thankful that I found this site and ask women who have health problem similar to mine. My doctor found one large dermoid cyst (9 by 9 by 5 cm) on my left ovary and one smaller dermoid cyst (3 by 2.5 by 2.5 cm) on right ovary. Both cysts are probably not cancerous.
Avatar n tn If you have had only the uterus removed and or at least they left one ovary or even a part of an ovary you can still develop cysts..if I was you I would get a second opinion...your pain can also be related to scar tissue/adhesions..Good Luck..
Avatar f tn I had a total hysterectomy in March 09. My gyn found fibroids and cysts at that time. I felt a bit better after I got thru the healing process. Then in or around Aug/Sept I started to have pain again....in the same area as if I never had surgery. I went to my gyn, she gave me a pelvic exam and said everything seemed okay and referred me to a surgeon. He set me up for exploratory surgery laprascopy, and in doing found adhesions. This was done in Feb 2010.
