Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis.
Hi everyone, I am 20 years old & becoming very worrisome. Over the past few weeks I've been feeling some discomfort in my lower abdomen, along with some spotting. Yesterday while at work I got this sharp, stabbing like pain on the lower right part of my abdomen, which lasted about 5 minutes. I'm not a big baby, but I felt like I was going to vomit from the pain. I've also had dull backaches & feelings of being full as soon as I start eating.
Your symptoms are consistent with an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are very common and can be extremely painful at times, especially if they rupture during menstruation. However, they do not cause any serious problems, aside from the pain. Try taking a a pain medication like ibuprofen. Consult your PCP if symptoms become too severe or last for more than a few days.

from when my abdomen has got bigger and bigger .i ahve told them how ,much pain amd discomfort i am in and pointe d out taht the lumps and weight gain appeared after i had scans.he could not explain fattened areas of skin on my chest and he refuses to listen.
am seeing rheumatologist on omnday and a female Dr too who is more up on gynaecology.hope she will listen.i want to compalin btu from past experience tehy always say DR is always right .

Have you had any ovarian cysts or other issues in the past? I frequently get sharp pains lower abdomen. Likely they are result of the digestive system slowing for increased absorption or things stretching around to make room for baby. I have endometriosis and still have some adhesions that can hurt like heck as the baby starts to grow. However, your doctor should include your ovaries in your ultrasound just to make sure everything is in the right place.
it started in 2013 nearly a year after my daughter was born. I started getting even worse pain in my abdomen on both sides. my doctor referred me to a Gynecologist in which I needed a new one since I moved over 3 hours away from my previous one. This new GYNO did a laparoscopy surgery to take biopsies to figure out what was causing so much pain. he noted I have multiple ovarian cysts measuring about 5.7. not sure what that exactly means.. but okay..
NOW in the last two weeks, I have come down with this incredible pain in my lower abdomen, lower back, that now recently the pain has run into my left hip and into my left sciatic nerve. My abdomen, vagina, and lips of my vagina (sorry for details) feel hot and burning, almost like a heart burn.
WENT to doctor, (went to a female doctor who works with my regular GP who was on vacation)
SHe said my symptoms pointed to IC *interstitial cystitus) and given meds (this was Thursday July 3).
Infemales,ovarian cysts can also cause pain in abdomen usually in lower part but it can be a referred pain in upper abdomen also.So ovarian cysts also have to be ruled out.
Confirmation can be done only after ultrasound or CT abdomen.Blood tests may also be required in some cases.Till the time you consult a doctor,pls take some over the counter pain reliever like ibuprofen or diclofenac.

The ultrasound this time showed fluid in her abdomen again but no cyst. The doctor thinks she might have had another cyst that burst. She is still feeling pain and is nauseous and has a really bad headache. My question is, how long does it take for the fluid to be reabsorbed? Could there be fluid and another cyst this soon after surgery or could this be fluid from the other cyst that is continuing to bleed? Has anyone else had this problem?
That's alright. I'm experiencing tense muscles in my abdomen, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts before, and my abdomen is tender when touched; I've read about this online and do you think abdominal rigity is the cause of this?
When I first found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I was experiencing sharp pains in my lower abdomen. After an ultrasound they just said it looked like i have a few cysts on my ovaries which can cause pain. Well I had my daughter 14 weeks ago and since then I have been bleeding non stop. It is now pitch black. This post caught my attention because I noticed a few dark hairs growing on my face which NEVER happened before. I also noticed big boil like bumps on my lower back and inner legs.
