Avatar n tn I have an appointment again on June 17th. That is more than two months after the X-ray, and five weeks after my ultrasound. He says it doesn't look like cancer, but he is not sure. He was thingking I could have surgery in July, that would be three full months since he found out I had a growth.I am really scare and I don't know what to do. Should I see a different doctor? How come my doctor cannot be more specific about what I have?

Avatar f tn So, I'm new here, and I don't really post on forums, so I apologize in advance if I'm not doing this right... So, I was drawn to this site when it came up when I searched for a situation close to mine (largish cysts And apparent uterine prolapse), but results weren't left by the poster, so I have no idea how it turned out! I'm pretty nervous, though oddly excited as well.
Avatar n tn I have many risk factors and symptoms of OVCA I went to the ER and the x-ray said I was very constipated and the CT scan said I have a small cysts on my right ovary. The pain is all in my pelvic and low back area, Has anyone with OVCA been misdiagnosed?
Avatar n tn If the pain and chills continue, or if she develops a fever she needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist for ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are usually benign growths and are not as uncommon as some people think. The only thing that causes ovarian cysts to become an emergency if they are large, if it is causing the ovary to twist, or if an infection develops. However, I believe that the cause of your wife's discomfort if from a rupturing ovarian cyst. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
1337047 tn?1275914064 Hi. I've been on here before regarding a football sized ovarian cyst which was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I still have no date for surgery although the gyn said that it would be June for sure. Anyhow, this morning I noticed I am bleeding now, and I am getting pretty scared about this. I look as if I am pregnant and as I mentioned before the doc says he will do a hysterectomy at the same time as the cyst removal.
Avatar n tn A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER. They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis. They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter. I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan. It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size. I know that is not large, but these suckers are killing me. Could this be the cause of my pain? My stomach is so bloated and it really hurts to button my pants.
Avatar f tn The right ovary is enlarged and measures 8.2 x 4.9 x 4.0 cm. There is a complex ovarian mass that measures 5.3 x 3.1 x 3.6 cm fine low level internal echoes. There is another complex cystic lesion that measures 3.0 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm with fine low level Lacey echoes. No flow is identified within these lesions and they likely represent hemorrhagic cysts. A simple cyst is also noted measuring 4.3 x 2.4 x 3.4 cm. And the report states that I have free fluid by my vaginal cuff.
Avatar f tn 7 cm with a relatively large right ovarian probable simple cyst measuring 4.1 x 4.1 x 4.2 cm with a contiguous complex cyst possibly a hemorrhagic cyst measuring 3.2 x 3.1 x 4.
Avatar f tn left ovary has simple unilocular cyst 3.3 x 3.6 x 3.4 cm.overall ovary size 4.9 x 4.2 x 3.8 cm smaller cysts on right ovary. The left one has increased from l2/28/09 which was 3.0 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm. I am almost 80,and have read in a woman my age there is a good possibility it could get "funny" cancerous. I am really think it is time to have them out,had these cysts since early twenties and tired of worring about them. Comments Please.
Avatar f tn Could I have ovarian cancer!! I have been having symptoms that started with a dull ache on the left side of my ribs at the bottom, then bloating and finding it difficult to breath, backpains and fatigue all symptoms on and off throughout the day.. I had numerous tests and my doctor suggested I took the Ca 125 test results came back abnormal and slightly raised. Months later I took a pelvic ultrasound and the doctor says my ovaries look clear!!
Avatar f tn Normal bloodwork, plain abdominal x-ray showed excessive intestinal gas. Pain continued for several days and then nausea came also. I also have irregular bowel movements. I was diagnosed with ibs and started treatment which didn't help. About a week ago i had a ct in my upper and lower abdomen. The findings were thickening of the rectum, sigmoid colon, pylorus and my duodenum. Also i have an ovarian cyst 3,3cm in my right ovary. As far as i know ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms.
Avatar n tn I recently had an X-Ray on both my feet as i have had sore heels for the past 2 months and on the report it advises in my right foot Cuboid bone, two sclerotic densities are seen, highly suggestive of bone island. Could you please xplain what is meant by this?
Avatar m tn A noted author gynecologist wrote that benign ovarian cysts are quite a bit more common in post-menopausal women than previously thought. In most cases, these cysts resolve on their own just as they usually do in younger women. So hopefully, you will fit the majority. Since women's ovaries produce hormones into their 80's, it makes sense that cysts could develop and also explains most cases of post-menopausal bleeding that is usually nothing serious.
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
Avatar f tn Hi there, 38 yrs of age I was in excruciating pain and went to ER a week ago, had a CT scan and X-ray, confirmed a 5cm cyst on my right Ovary, the pain is Unbareable, I was in to see my Gyn I'm booked for surgery June 2/11 he says he will be removing my bad Ovary, due to my history of endometriosis, I don't know If I can wait that long?? I can't even go to work, because the pain is so intense, I'm afraid I might get fired UGH!!
Avatar f tn She has had constipation but the last x ray showed that had gone but the pain goes on. Theyve suggested IBS and IBD but say the only pain relief available is paracetomol and ibuprofen which doesnt touch at all.
Avatar f tn After, abdominal x-ray, CT scan, and pelvic ultrasound.... I was told I had a large cyst on my ovary approx. 6cm diameter. CT results stated: cystic right ovarian lesion with septation and questionable upper wal thickening. GYN consult recommended. I then had a pelvic ultrasound several days later and those results were: complex cystic mass, right ovary, most likely neoplastic. and also recommending GYN consult. More of the report stated: ovary measures 7.1 x 4.5 x 6.
Avatar f tn I have two ovarian cysts on my left ovary and neither were found during a pelvic exam. The sizes of my cysts are: Cyst 1: 5.9 x 5.0 x 3.3 cm 50.9 cc Cyst 2: 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm 6.6 cc I think it depends of the size, location and the composition of the cyst for the possibility the doctor to find it during a pelvic exam. I was diagnosed with these cysts after an ultrasound after I experience excruitiating pain in my ovarian area.
Avatar m tn s ultra showed right ovary 3.6 X 2.5 cms. Left, 3.2 x 2.1 both with multiple small cysts average 5mm in diameter. i.e. smaller cysts but more in number than the last test. Is it a fact that I won't get rid of the acne until the cysts are gone? 3. Should I be on a different med or stronger dosage of the same ( uterus, bladder, Douglas normal) thanks in advance (nb i tried this on teens health and got no response.
718910 tn?1230310121 She now has a complex left ovarian cyst, most likely hemorrhagic, measuring 3.0 x 3.9 x 4.7 cm with the left ovary measuring 5.1 x 5.8 x 6.3 cm in diameter. An insignificant amount of fluid is seen in the cul-de-sac. What does this mean? Should I be concerned? I had the right ovary removed due to a dermoid cyst 6.8 cm.
Avatar n tn MOST ovarian cysts (even complex / suspicious looking ones) are benign and it seems ovarian cysts are more common after hysterectomy due to the histological changes to the ovaries (likely due to loss of blood flow and feedback loop with the uterus). If your gynecologist deems this cyst concerning based on the traits specified on the ultrasound, you will want to see a gynecologic oncologist.
Avatar f tn You can freak yourself out googling ovarian cysts. Ovarian cancer is scary. Tee statistic I read today is that you have 1.4% of getting ovarian cancer which is not very high. That means you have a 99.6% you will never get ovarian cancer.
