Ovarian cysts on x ray

Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts on x ray

ovarian-cysts

I did have a chest x ray and that was clear - he said that fluid ont the lungs is a real indication of ovarian cancer. I will call today, and ask for a date as soon as possible. I'm not sure if he is a gynecologist/oncologist, but I have known women who have dealt with him and they all say he is good. My hairdresser told me on Friday, that I should be glad he is the one looking after me. I'll keep you all posted as to how I go on.
I'm going in tomorrow for an US and x-ray (why an x-ray?), but I'd like to have an idea of what to expect. Has anyone been in this situation?
A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER. They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis. They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter. I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan. It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size. I know that is not large, but these suckers are killing me. Could this be the cause of my pain? My stomach is so bloated and it really hurts to button my pants.
2005 to remove two big complex cysts on both of ovary.(7cm left side, 9cm on right side. (There are some ovary tissue left on both sides). In Mar, 2007 I had Utro-sound, they found 1cm on each side of ovary again. My Doctor said your cysts won't grow so fast, she asked me to do follow up ultro-sound in Sept. I had it done in Aug, because I felt some pain. Now they found I have 5cm complex on my right ovary. I am really worried.
I have an appointment again on June 17th. That is more than two months after the X-ray, and five weeks after my ultrasound. He says it doesn't look like cancer, but he is not sure. He was thingking I could have surgery in July, that would be three full months since he found out I had a growth.I am really scare and I don't know what to do. Should I see a different doctor? How come my doctor cannot be more specific about what I have?
After doing a pelvic exam ER told me that probably one of my cysts on my left ovary had ruptured so he prescribed me with pain meds. At the beginning of the week I went to the ER due to rectal bleeding that I had been experiencing for a few weeks. ER checked me again for rectal bleeding, tested positive for blood. ER doc told me that my nausea, bloating and possible rectal bleeding is associated with an ulcer that I have developed and prescribed me ulcer medication.
I am very concerned since there is a history of so many cancers in my family including ovarian, colon and breast cancer. Yet I know that these symptoms could simply be caused by the cysts on my ovaries and am worrying about nothing. I called my doctor about my symptoms and scheduled an appointment. It took them a month to get me in and then when I got there my doctor had gone home so they sent me to another doctor who was new and taking my doctor's overflow.
I did my ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound last week and all they found was the same fibroid I've had all along. The cysts that were on the CT 3 weeks ago are now gone. The CA125 is back down to 57. Dr. has again advised to get the CA125 checked again in 6 months and do u/s if necessary. It will then be 2 years. I've had 2 check-ups with no cysts found throughout this ordeal. Neither of the Oncologists I'm working with think surgery is necessary.
No flow I think refers to blood flow. It sounds like you had cysts on your cervix as well, and sorry but I don't know what that would mean. It also sounds like one of the cysts disappeared. They do that sometimes, just reabsorb into your body, which means they were benign. Sorry, I think there's some nurses and an x-ray tecnician on the forum, maybe they'll see this and help you out. And don't be afraid to call your dr's office to ask questions!
Would a dermroid show up on a x-ray? Any thoughts on questions to ask the doctor tomorrow. I appreciate any help.
Now it hurts whenever I'm sitting down and hurts even worse when I stand up. I had gone to my family doctor and was sent for an x-ray; which came back normal. I went for a CT Scan and got a call from the doctor today saying I needed to call and make an appointment with my OBGYN because a cyst was found on my right ovary and they found some wall thickening. My periods have been irregular for the past few months as well.
Doctor did not call me. Radiology said there was a questionable mass on my x-ray believed to be a fibroid tumor. July 17 - I had a transabdominal and and transvaginal ultrasound with the following results: Right ovary 2.8 x 2.6 x 4.9 cm in length with several small cysts, with one larger complex cyst measuring 1.6 which has some increased density and may have some mild hemorrhage. Left ovary 2.2 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm with several small cysts noted. Small amount of free fluid. I have an appt.
Hi, I'm 20 years old and just recently in the past couple months, I was told I had an Ovarian cyst that ruptured and now have a folicle on my right ovary. I was also told I have a few Uterin Fibroids. My doctor told me I had nothing to worry about but I was quite insistent that something be done, because I have been living in pain for the past couple months. I'm wondering what the liklihood of having both cysts and fibroids is and what I should do about it.
I have had Lower R side pain x 4 days with a fever, I went to ER with pain I had never had before, they thought it was my appedix, after a CT, U/S and an abd x-ray and labs, I was told I had a 4 x 4 1/2 cm bleeding cyst on my R ovary. I am due for a hysterectomy Oct 4th due to soo many problems, my question is, will they have to take that ovary now also with the hysterectomy? I wanted to leave the ovaries. What causes a bleeding cyst? Should I worry?
I think they can get a pretty reliable x-ray, CT scan or MRI to tell you whether or not it is a dermoid, they can usually see bone fragments on the x-ray, and ultra sound shows the fatty deposits. Most dermoids are benign, that will help you with your decision. My friend had the dermoid removed as a cystectomy (against her doctor's strong recommendation to have a full hysterectomy), and all her organs are intact, and she is fine, the dermoid tumor was benign.
Actually they did not found anything because all they did was a x-ray since I had had ct scan and ultrasounds last year showing ovarian cysts. I complained of abdominal pain on upper right side. Since I have been diagnosed with gastritis, all drs tend to assume that is a GI attack. I was so dissapointed the drs at the ER didn't find anything but what I had already been diagnosed with. I told them that I had ovarian cysts but never went onto checking my pelvis.
-get a copy of the operative note from your surgery -get a copy of the pathology report from your surgery You need a good x-ray evalaution of what is going on. I would suggest a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvic. This scan will see your ovaries (or remaining ovary) and also see if you have any free fluid surrounding the abdomen. It is also a good way to evaluate the appendix. Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a condition where there is free flowing mucinous material in the abdomen.
My GYN told me that the smallest amount of Ovarian tissue can have cysts develop on them. I would recommend that you have your doctor do an FSH (hormone level) blood test. This will tell your doctor if you still have a functioning ovary or remnant. Are you on a hormone patch or anything? If you are on hormones, you will need to go off of them for about 2 weeks before they will be able to do the FSH test. Don't be surprised if a TVUS does not show your cyst.
Isn't it strange how differently these little alien (cysts) affect each of us. I have two 5-6cm complex cysts one on each ovary. They are suspected endometrioma's. While I'm aware of them, they aren't all that painful.
I have seen two physicians for this. One a GP and the other an Internal Medicine doctor. I had an x-ray because the GP felt it could be my hip. Well it's really weird because I don't have the pain when I walk or exercise on my elliptical. If it's a hip problem, this makes no sense to me. When I use my AB lounger and fairly often I have this aching when I go to bed or get up in the morning. I can feel it when I bend over and sometimes during sex with my husband.
I am 61 years old. i had x-ray done for my lower bk. the x-ray had a shadow on left side. i feel normal no pain ... ultra scan and ct reports says Report. A calcified shadow is seen at the left lateral aspect of the uterus likely separable as seen in CT scan where it is… related to and within a soft tissue structure measuring (2.3x1.3) likely ovarian. They are doing blood tests… CA125, CEA ,Bhcg and fetoprotein. if the tests are clear then is there any thing to worry about...
after a distant history of having a hysterectomy turn out to be normal cervical remnants other possibilities if you have been on estrogen include cysts of endometriosis but ultimately, you need a pap smear and some xrays to sort this out also you should try to get hold of the operative note from your surgery plus the pathology report to see if you had endoemtriosis.
I have many risk factors and symptoms of OVCA I went to the ER and the x-ray said I was very constipated and the CT scan said I have a small cysts on my right ovary. The pain is all in my pelvic and low back area, Has anyone with OVCA been misdiagnosed?
The standard tests they ran included a x-ray of the pelvic region and the ER doctor was concerned about some areas (dark on x-ray I think) and he referred my wife to a glaciologist who examined my wife within a day or two (don't recall, it was a few years back), my wife then had several specialized scans/tests and we were talking with a surgeon within a week.
The adhesions did not show up on any GI exam and why would they. They were on the outside and looked just like normal tissue on a CT and X-ray. Exploratory endoscopic found them and they were released during the procedure. I was then placed on antibiotics for several days due to an increased WBC count. My husband asked for me to also be put on an anti-parasitic med as a precaution since I have recently traveled a lot. I hope this helps anyone who had the same symptoms as I have.
To diagnose me of these conditions I have had a cat scan of my adbomen and pelvis, an mri and x ray of my lower back, and an upper endoscopy. My questions could these symptions and problems be related or be smaller problems related to a more serious health issue. Thank you for your help.
This after two female OB/GYNs told me cysts don't hurt - even when they rupture.
i had a tumour on my R ovary 15cm x 11cm x 9cm and one next to my stomach - 11 x 10 x 13cm. had a laparoscopy & found more spots on my L ovary and on my abdoman lining. i had surgery a week later to remove my R ovary (w tumour), tumour near my stomach, the spots on my L ovary and half my abdoman lining.
Not everyone with O Cysts gets OVCA. I have a long history of O Cysts and my 25 yr old daughter is on her 3rd round of cysts. I also have a long history of OVCA in my family and I have OVCA. My daughter wants to have a tubal ligation or just have everything taken out but I think this is an overreaction to the situation. Don't waste a good panic as someone said until you have something to worry about. Keep an eye on those cysts and try to catch them before they rupture.
I have a cyst on my left ovary that is over 16cms with a mass of about 8cms inside, I am due for surgery to remove the ovary soon but am just a bit worried about recovery time as I am self employed and don't get paid sick leave. I have noticed that most people with cysts on their ovaries are only between 4-10 cms, is this because they get removed before they get this large?
