Avatar f tn The second time which was approximately one week ago they did not do an ultrasound, but told her the pain was due to a cyst on her ovaries. My concerns are could she have ovarian cancer-one of my friends daughters died at the age of 27 due to ovarian cancer. Please advise.
Avatar f tn Most ovarian cysts are benign. 98% are benign. A woman has a 1.4% of eve getting ovarian cancer. Less if you are under 50.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor yesterday, she told me that there's nothing on the ultrasound to suggest cancer. She said but to be on the safe side, she did a blood test (I think CA 125). She said she doesn't think there's anything to worry about but she said since I'm a big worry wart (she said she never met anyone like me before, always worrying) that if I wanted her to, she would remove the ovary with the big cyst but she doesn't think it's medically necessary.
Avatar n tn Hi there. It is possible the pain could be due to cysts. I've never heard of a connection to coffee though. Do see your gyn and have a transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I only assume I have PCOS because my hormones are out of whack and I have ovarian cysts. My symptoms have been going on for 10+ years and no doctor ever diagnosed me with this condition or even mentioned it. I have been struggling for the last 2+ years with severe health problems and was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome). Make sure your doctor is very informative about this condition. Ask lots of questions.
Avatar m tn Breast cysts are usually easily defined by mammogram or ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are not related to breast cysts or to cysts in any other part of the body. Regards ....
Avatar m tn That being said, fibroids are common and usually require no intervention. The same for ovarian cysts. However, ovarian cysts usually go away within 3 cycles / months. So another ultrasound in a couple of months or so would be the typical plan. But your doctor should be communicating with you.
Avatar n tn After a couple of weeks of antibiotics The pain never went way, he sent me for an ultrasound. everything looked ok on the ultrasound, except a small cyst on my left ovary. He put me on birth control pills but nothing happend i was still having pelvic pain. He sent me to see a colon specialist and a colonoscopy was done and everything looked ok. A laparoscopy was done and he drained several cyst on my left ovary. my laparoscopy was done November 11, 2008.
Avatar f tn Then in sept they found a cyst during my annual female exams on the vaginal ultrasound. It did show on ct in october but my impression after speaking with the oncologist is that they show up better on ultrasound.
Avatar f tn Hello and thanks for reading. I am currently almost 9 weeks pregnant and during a transvaginal ultrasound a solid 2.2 cm mass was seen on my ovary. Now of course i'm freaking out and have already diagnosed myself with ovarian cancer cause I don't know what else could cause a solid mass.
3100626 tn?1341387176 IBS pain can often feel like gynecologic pain or ovarian cyst/fibroid pain so is often confused with these problems. However, if your recent ultrasound didn't find any ovarian cysts or problems with the ovaries or tubes, then your pain may be more related to the bowel than the ovaries. You still should continue to see your gynecologist to follow this and be sure. Furthermore, you should consider seeing a gastroenterologist as well as they are physicians that can help with bowels.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar f tn Ive been trying to get prego and been taking these prenatal that she recommended. She did an ultrasound and found two ovarian cyst on the left a 3.something cm then right a 4.2cm. She said that normally if the cyst is 5cm big they do laparoscopic surgery but she gave me 2 options to get on birth control and see if the cyst will shrink using the BC she gave and do another ultrasound in 3months or the worst is do the laparoscopic surgery if it doesnt go away.
Avatar f tn I have been having pain in my uterus for the past 2 years. A couple of months ago I decided to have it checked out for sure since my husband and I decided to have another child. After gaining 35 pounds in 6 months, I assumed I was going to be pregnant real soon. I know kind of dumb but I wanted to be pregnant so I can make an excuse for all the weight I was gaining. Anywho-fast forward after appt -gyn said there's a cysts on my left ovary - had an ultrasound, it was 5 cm...
Avatar n tn When I was pregnant, the doctors found cysts on one of my ovaries. We never did anything about it since it would not harm the baby. Now I have a lot of bleeding during my cycle but it is still regular. I also experience some pain on my right side after intercourse. I realize I am approaching the age where this could be menopause but really don't have any sympoms. Is it possible that the cysts could have gone away?
Avatar f tn I will have details on size of cyst and wall thickness of it later today after I pick up my report and hopefully I will be getting a 2nd ultrasound with gyno. to confirm and get second opinion. Any info would be helpful on septate/complex cysts. So scared about this. Can you have this many symptoms and have it be benign??
Avatar n tn Went in for a pap and my doctor sent me for a ultrasound and transvagina. My dr (who is a personal friend). Told me I have a small ovarian cyst 2.9 cm on my left and 2 small fibroids. He told me I could go on a birth control pill, which bcps and me do not agree, expect heavy periods for 5-10 years. Down the road could consider a d and c or ablation, but for right now follow up in 3 months. Then it dawned on me this weekend that my pain is on the right and my cyst is on the left.

Avatar f tn Majority of women do experience ovarian cysts and they generally do go away on their own without any damage. Caution that if it is on the larger size then it could rupture or twist in which you will experience extreme pain. If this happens it is an emergent situation and you need to go to the ER. Many women find that they need to get second and third opinions in order to get answers they need from someone they trust.

Avatar n tn We were without health insurance for 3 years and she just had a exam. The doctor had ordered a ultrasound and found 2 cysts one 4cm and one 2, the doctor called and suggested she return in 4 months for another ultrasound. They office was searching for film done 3 years ago and after reviewing a previous ultrasound he ordered a MRI with Contrast...
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have a small ovarian cyst. Most cysts are benign and resolve on their own within a few cycles / months, no intervention needed. Imaging is not exact (MRI may be more so than u/s) so it can be difficult to tell the type of cyst. Some cysts that resolve on their own can appear solid on imaging such as hemorrhagic.
