Avatar n tn Check that out and it will explain all the different kinds of Ovarian cysts. Most of the time Ovarian cysts will just disappear on their own. But.. you need a Dr. to see what's really going on in there. They may give you a transvaginal ultrasound which is not painful.. a little uncomfy but if you've been having pap smears, not much worse. . Now, Monday, call a good Gynecologist, explain that you need an exam ( you should have one every year anyway) and take it from there.
1327895 tn?1275001833 Since then have had 2 different sets of ultrasounds, the last my PCP office called and said I needed to see the gyn Dr asap as I had a complex/septated/suspicious and fast growing cyst/tumor with an extremely enlarged right ovary. The ovary was 4x bigger than the left. Surgery was performed 6 days ago, gyn Dr says it was the biggest, ugliest ovary he had ever seen with too numerous to count cysts and growths over the entire ovary with adhesions covering one whole side.
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old and during a routine obgyn check, my transvaginal ultrasound showed my right ovary to be enlarged. I am taking birth control and my left ovary is 1.68/0.64 cm and my right ovary is 3.22/2.20 cm. My doctor told me that the size of the left ovary was normal considering I'm take BC and that the right ovary should be roughly the same size.
Avatar f tn I am 48 years old and have been hosptialized and discharged tonight and test show a cyst on my right ovary. I am in very bad pain and spotting. I have to find a gyn. I had a internal ultral sound and a contrast ct scan on my abdomin and other female organs are good.
Avatar m tn The cyst was discovered while trying to determine the cause of abdominal pain that turned out to be a ruptured cyst on the right ovary. After reading a lot on the internet, it seems that removing it more common than watching and waiting, but I cannot find any discussion about removing the ovary in a perimenopausal woman. I understand that my right ovary would continue to function, but wonder if there is an underlying risk of which I am not aware.
Avatar f tn I had u/s that revealed several solid cysts on my right ovary, ca 125 was 61, endometrial thickness was 13mm, had an endometrial biopsy that was beign(which means nothing to me). The GYN still wants me to come back to talk to me, about what I don't know. She said the cysts will not go away on their own and that I am in the worrisome catagory for her! She said she can't rule out ovarian cancer!
Avatar f tn Do they intend to remove it? Some ovarian cysts resolve on their own and others do not, and need to be removed. I don't think they would use the language they did if they thought it was cancer. Why didn't they give you an abdominal MRI? It is the gold standard for visualizing soft-tissue situations in the body. Anyway, what does the doctor propose to do?
Avatar n tn For example, I perceived my pain in my right side, and I was quite surprised to learn my cyst was on my left ovary instead! It is not uncommon for the pain to be perceived in the area of the umbilicus. If the acute (i.e. sharp) pain continues until tomorrow then my suggestion is for you to contact your doctor's office.
Avatar m tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own and a simple ovarian cyst less than 6 cm goes away on its own usually by 12 months. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done on my right ovary, can you please explain these below results? Also should I be worried about my ovary size because the normal size is 1.5 cm? findings: the right ovary is enlarged measuring 7.6 x 4.4 x 3.7 cm with a relatively large right ovarian probable simple cyst measuring 4.1 x 4.1 x 4.2 cm with a contiguous complex cyst possibly a hemorrhagic cyst measuring 3.2 x 3.1 x 4.
Avatar n tn This would probably be better answered on the ovarian cyst forum. Most cysts and masses are benign, Only about 12 % are ovca. If in doubt, ask to be referred to a gyn/ocologist.
Avatar n tn It is actually a solid nodule on my right ovary. The other cysts did go away. I am having another ultrasound on the 21st of this month. I can definitely feel it and it is uncomfortable. The CA125 came back within normal range. My regular doctor gets back from vacation the same day as my ultrasound. Can nodules disappear or are they there until removed? I am really hoping they can remove just the nodule and not my whole ovary.
805021 tn?1238113502 Transvaginally the right ovary measures 3.4 x 5.2 x 2.7 cm and contains 2 complex cysts measuring 3.2 x 2.7 cm and 2.5 x 2.3 cm. This may be secondary to endometriomata or hemorrhagic cysts. More significant pathology is not completely excluded. A follow up U/S in 6-8 wks is recc to ensure resolution. There are small nabothian cysts in the cervix. The left ovary was not seen transvaginally. Transabdominally, the left ovary measures 3.4 x 1.8 x 2.1 cm with a volume of 6.
Avatar n tn i read on a medical web page not long after finding out that i myself have a hemmhoragic cyst on my left ovary that fertility drugs can help to cause ovarian cysts because most ovarian cysts are caused by the eggs not making it all the way out of the ovary or something of that sort and they just kind of pile up inside of the ovary and form a cyst. however, i did read that most ovarian cysts go away sometime during ovulation.
Avatar f tn Since last month, when on my period i have extreme pain on my right side, feels like someone is sqeezing my ovary. I am now experiencing the same feeling, along with lower back pain that receeds down my thigh. Im having very heavy bleeding ( changing about every hr. to hr. & 1/2) and clots the size of nickels to quarters. Im experiencing nausea, and the past two months having intercoarse is extremely painful, but usually the pain is only on the right side.
Avatar n tn I have had several operations for ovarian cysts removal. 12 years ago I had my right ovary removed because the cyst spread over the whole ovary, and 2 years ago it spread to the left ovary, and had that removed. Now the cyst on my left ovary has resurfaced. I am feeling alot of pain, and I have been to the doctor and was told to follow up on my cyst but I never did because of insurance reasons. But I have been having pains on my left side, like a burning and painful sensation.
Avatar f tn I have been having lower abdomen problems (burning constantly) for about a year. I have been seeing a Gastroenterologist and have numerous test done and have been diagnosed with GERD and Barretts Esophagus and IBS. I take medication and watch what I eat but nothing helps. I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems.
Avatar f tn When the follicles are forming small cysts may be present in the normal ovary. These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought.
Avatar n tn The test found Right ovary shows a cyst with internal echoes measuring 57x52x41 mm in size. (Complex right ovary cyst). I would like to know that, whether this is harmful? And what should i do?
Avatar f tn Anyway, I was suppose to go in for surgery on August 10th 2016 to get the left ovary removed and the right one looked at and some biopsies but when I went on medical leave my place of employment immediately cancelled my insurance so I have had to go back to work and cancel my insurance and I am freaking out because this is my body not theirs and I am no further to an answer now as I was at my first appointment back in January 2016.
Avatar f tn In January of 2009, i had emergency surgery for an ovarian cysts on my right ovary. Apparently the cyst was 5 inches and twisted around my ovary. After the surgery, i had no pain up until June of that year. I had many ultrasounds done that confirmed i had small cysts. In April of 2010, i had laproscopic surgery to have a look to see what was going on. The doctor told me after that my ovary had dropped down due to a cyst and that my right tube was blocked.
Avatar m tn It would be unusual for her to have a problem with the remaining ovary. Usually, ovarian cysts pose no other issue once they have been removed. She should talk to her doctor to make sure there was not anything unusual about her cyst that could affect the other ovary. But, in general, she should be fine!
Avatar f tn One was the size of a grapefruit and twisted twice on its stalk on my left ovary and the other on my right ovary was the size of a softball. I went to the ER in pain and had them taken out a few days later. The Dr also said he removed parts of my ovaries but left some ovary tissue on both sides (more on the right than the left). He was really vague and will find out more info at my followup. My question is how is this going to affect me fertility. I do want more kids.
Avatar f tn I am a married woman, married last year in January. I am having small cyst in right ovary which i came to know last month. My doctor advised me to have scan after three months. we are planning for a baby. Can this be problem to conceive.
576095 tn?1217493479 Even if the left ovary was damaged or not working well, the right ovary usually keeps on working so there was still a chance to become pregnant. I'm wondering if your uterus that keeps growing fibroids is not fetus friendly shall we say. I don't know but I'm just wondering. I also have a single fibroid in my uterus but I'm menopausal so it doesn't matter. You could ask your doctor next time if the fibroids would interfere with pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Hello, My husband and I have been trying for 9 months to conceive. Earlier, I have had irregular menstrual cycles (anywhere from 23 to 30 days), and now since 1 years severe cramps, sudden pain at abdomen, and pain during intercourse. I have been concerned for a while and recently had to insist that my doctor prescribe an ultrasound. Apparently I have a paraovarian cyst (6 to 6.5 cm) near my right ovary.
Avatar m tn 5cm cyst on my right ovary which contains nultiple internal small, mildly thick walled cysts and my left ovary contains a complex heterogeneous nodule which meaures 2.5cm.. Now is this something i should be worried about and look to another doctor for a second opinion or just act like the midwife and brush it off my shoulder,,, help please.. Also i have been having irregular periods and intercourse is painful..Will i have to get them removed??
Avatar n tn they are guessing that the pain and fluid suggests a cyst burst. Ovarian Cysts are very common and often do come and go and even burst depending on your menstrual cycle. Try really hard not to worry....as far as I know, in order to have OvCa you have to have tumors and masses, most likely was not seen in your reports....see a GYN and take it from there. Good luck.
