168348 tn?1379357075 I am CL of the Thyroid Disorders and post on the new MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) Community .. it is a disorder of the kidneys where one is predisposed to form kidney stones so deep within the kidney that they really never pass out and create pain/problems/infections along the way and many people it seems have ovarian cysts, too .. such as my history reveals. Also, on the Thyroid Disorders this ? comes up alot regarding ovarian cysts and thyroid conditions? Thanks ..
Avatar f tn m not going to give you my advice on that aspect of it but I am a pro when it comes to ovarian cysts, so I will try and shed some light on ovarian cysts for you.. at least the best i can. I myself have had 3 surgeries in the past 2 years regarding ovarian cysts. I have had well over 10 ovarian cysts, 6 of which were removed. Your cyst is very small, I wouldn't worry too much about the ovarian cyst.
Avatar n tn the er told me i had kidney stones but did not mention my liver problems(although it was clearly stated on paper that was sent home with me)i had my test results from ct scan sent to several different specialists and when each one called me with the test results they only told me what was thier particular speciality..the liver doctor had told me about the liver cysts but didnt mention the kidney and ovarian cysts or anything else not related to his field..
Avatar f tn I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think. I'd love some ideas. My kidneys could be inflamed due to the cysts and stones but don't know if that would affect the pelvic area... Thanks for any ideas.
Avatar f tn have polycystic left kidney, 2 kidney stones in right kidney, ovarian cyst, cyst on cervix, stip of endrometriosis in uterus, mild asymmetry pituitary adnoma, solid mass on left lobe of thyroid, and septated cyst on right lobe of thyroid. Nothing has been biopsyed or treated for any of these conditions. What should i do?
Avatar f tn had the ct scan yesterday and they found nothing. No kidney stones, appendix looks ok and no ovarian cysts. I feel like I am back to square one! Went straight back to the doctors in the afternoon and she is puzzled. She said she wants to look at the ct scan/analysis herself and to see me again on Monday. She's given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day.
533063 tn?1262366101 After a thoroughly, wonderfully *fun* run around with 5 kidney stones back in November of last year, I found out that i had a rather nice dermoid ovarian cyst. No worries, got that taken care of...but was back at the doctor a few months later only to find out that I was working on mild hypothyroid issue! Low and behold, just the other day (and back at the doctor...again), i felt those tell-tale signs that another stone was on its way through my system... all this within the span of 7 months.
2015757 tn?1409172476 not sure if it even matters but i have a history of frequent kidney stones, my mom had ovarian cysts and my dad had his appendix removed. Id like to have some suggestions befor i end up checking into the emergency room. thank you for your help.
Avatar n tn I had to go to the hospital, They said it could be kidney stones, appendicitis,or ovarian cyst. I have a history of abnormal paps and endometriosis, I am scared it is cancer. I dont have insurance if anyone can share some info I would realy appretiate it.
Avatar n tn Yes, more info on the cysts is helpful. Some doctors refuse to take them seriously. Your pain could also be related to your gallbladder and you should get that checked out.
Avatar f tn m a 35 year old Female who went in for a CT scan for kidney stones (3rd time) Turns out I have a 3mm cyst on right ovary, 2mm on Liver and 1.7mm on Spleen. I can't get into my OBGYN until October. Some research I've done is scaring me into thinking I might have a later stage Ovarian Cancer. I've never had Cysts on any of the 3 mentioned before. I've had numerous CT scans over the years for Stones and Back.
Avatar f tn I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
900457 tn?1266782689 I am 30 y/o female & have zero children. I have ovarian cysts on both ovaries & one is enlarged. I have been noticing for a little while now that when i go to pee i have to strain to start the flow. Also sometimes it is difficult to fully empty my bladder. I can urinate a little bit, then it stops, and i have to strain to squeeze it out. Is there something i should be concerned about? possible kidney problem?
Avatar n tn Hi, Kidney stones form when the components of urine are out of balance. When this happens, the urine contains more crystal-forming substances, such as calcium and uric acid. Kidney stones are also prone to develop in highly acidic or highly alkaline urine. Sometimes, the underlying cause is an inherited metabolic disorder or kidney disease. Gout, inflammatory bowel disease and some medications promote specific types of kidney stones.
Avatar m tn Hello, Causes of such pain could be due to kidney stones, pelvic infections, urine infections, twisted ovarian cyst or rupture of ovarian cyst, appendicitis or any other referred pain due to other organ infections. Get it evaluated and an ultrasound done from a gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Nope ovarian cysts don't cause back pain. I had ovarian cysts and most of my pain was where the ovaries were.
Avatar f tn s), colitis, kidney stones, kidney infection, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, hernia, and/or cancer. You should see your doctor, as proper diagnosis depends upon clinical history, physical examination, and laboratory and/or imaging tests.
Avatar n tn Upper right abdominal pain can be caused by biliary colic, cholecystitis(inflammation of gall bladder), irritable bowel syndrome, hepatitis(inflammation of the liver), kidney stones, pneumonia, musculoskeletal pain, lower rib fracture and malignancy. Irritation of the nerves supplying this area can also cause pain. Irritation can be due to nerve compression or pinching due to any spine related pathology.
Avatar m tn Honestly you're MUCH more likely to get a bacterial infection from the natural bacteria on his hand than you are to get pregnant. Also stress can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, fatigue, appetite change, late period, bloating, etc. So can quite a few other things so it's very difficult to tell if you're pregnant based on symptoms alone. 3 weeks after this happened or if your period is late, take a home pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn I have endometriosis, and I have had ovarian cysts since I was about 18 years old I go through pain every month. I currently have been in alot of pain and my PCP ordered a CT to check for kidney stones which I have had a problem with for about 10 years, In my results it should to small kidney stones, but also two large fluid dense cyst, one measuring 4.0 x 3.7 cm and the other 2.3 x 1.7 cm both on my right side. I just had my tubes tied in early sept and cyst removed during that time.
Avatar f tn I had a CT done last week for gallbladder concerns andthe cysts were noted on the CT report and noted that they have increased in size for the CT I had done in 2013 for kidney stones. No one ever said anything about the cysts from the CT scan in 2013. So I'm just learning of their existence. My doctor had a CA 125 done this past Thursday and the result was 34. I know an elevated level is >35.
Avatar n tn I have been having lower back pain for a week and half. I went to the doctor and she did a CT thinking that I had kidney stones. BUT they found a complex ovarian cyst. I then had a sonagram. My question is how serious and what about cancer??
Avatar f tn I have had kidney stones for 30 years. At my last checkup, they said there was a large cyst on my ovary and I should see the gyno. For the kidney stones I had to get a CT. Between that and the transvag ultrasound, it is a 10 cm simple cyst. I have not had a lot of pain, but after 30 years of stones I am also used to low level discomfort, bloating, etc. Now that I know it is there, I feel it, but about a 3 to 5 on the pain scale.
Avatar n tn I recently had a CT scan the doctors thought I had kidney stones or appendicitis only to find a 8.4 cm x7.2 cm x 4.3 cm multicystic structure on my right adnexal with soft tissue centrally that maybe related to ovarian tissue. I have a gyn appointment for an ultrasound. What is the chance that it is ovarian cancer, since it is so big is there a great chance that it could be more dangerous. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Has she had a CT Scan w/o contrast in regard to the stones? What has it shown? I have an uncommon kidney condition called MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) along with having had out 1/2 my thryoid bcz of nodules that were atpical but my parathyroids were fine and all tests were A-OK that both my Uro and Endo have run inc. a 24hr urine test. Has your daughter had a 24hr urine test? That is important too.
Avatar n tn Get some tests done. Lower back pain could be kidney problem or maybe a kidney or gall stones. Most people think cancer cysts are just cysts - make sure you get a biopsy if you have cysts near the ovaries. If you already have had the kids, see what he recommends or what you want to do about the cysts. I have ovarian cancer. My dr. had said I had cysts, getting old and fat - not much overweight 20-30 pounds. Said I was fine - said I didnt need the tests.
Avatar m tn t know what the urologist will be lookng for or what, if not kidney stones or cysts, could cause this pain..they stated it couldn't be the kidney stone because it is still in the kidney. the pain is approximately where my ovary was and the back pain is just above the waist. Thank you for taking the time to consult.
