168348 tn?1379357075 I have MSK which is Medullary Sponge Kidney and many times the question comes up if there is a corellation between MSK and Ovarian Cysts. Same holds true with thyroid patients ... many ask oftentimes if there is an association between Ovarian Cysts and Thyroid conditions. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I am CL of the Thyroid Disorders and post on the new MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) Community ..
Avatar f tn m not going to give you my advice on that aspect of it but I am a pro when it comes to ovarian cysts, so I will try and shed some light on ovarian cysts for you.. at least the best i can. I myself have had 3 surgeries in the past 2 years regarding ovarian cysts. I have had well over 10 ovarian cysts, 6 of which were removed. Your cyst is very small, I wouldn't worry too much about the ovarian cyst.
Avatar n tn I have stage 4 kidney failure. I'm confused about why I have it and if I am on the right meds. I have DM type 2 and I have cysts in my kidneys. Does this mean I have Polycystic kidney disease, or does it just mean I have benign cysts? I take Lisinopril 5 mg daily. My doctors say that the kidneys don't hurt, but I have constant pain. Is this unusual?
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts for many years that have been watched by my DR. The last US showed a Right ovarian cyst does not show overall clear change in size compared with 5/7/2015, but today shows what appears to be a new echogenic mural nodule measuring 0.5 cm. MRI is suggested.. What does this mean? I'm scared to death...I'm 65 and on the Kidney Transplant list and One more problem is all i can take. Could someone PLEASE explain this to me. And advice on what I shou;d do.
Avatar n tn Interestingly I also have liver cysts - called simple cysts. There may be no connection of course. But I have read somewhere that ovarian cysts can be connected to PPIs. I also have gastro polyps as a result of long term use of PPIs. To avoid the polyps you might want to consider getting off PPIs once you have the acid reflux under control - and then seriously change your diet to make sure you don't get reflux again (less animal fats, sugars, acid food etc.).
Avatar f tn Some ovarian cysts can be associated with decreased fertility. However, it depends on the type of ovarian cyst (endometrioma or PCOS). Other cysts like functional cysts, cystadenomas and dermoid cysts are also there. You need to get your daughter examined from a gynecologist as treatment depends on the type of cyst. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I too have Ovarian Remnent Syndrome...and have had re-curring cysts in the pelvic area. I too am an Ovarian Cancer survivior, stage 1A. I too have cysts on my kidneys. Now, all that being said, I have had a total of two surgeries and although there are more cysts...the doctors are not too keen on a 3rd sugery because of all the risks. The doctors have also mentioned that some people are just cystic and develop these things....doesn't mean that it is cancer.
94365 tn?1216087160 also do you know anything regarding the type of kidney cysts that are showing up in my kidney? , it was showing ventrally and in the mid pole of the kidney.
Avatar f tn I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think. I'd love some ideas. My kidneys could be inflamed due to the cysts and stones but don't know if that would affect the pelvic area... Thanks for any ideas.
Avatar f tn have polycystic left kidney, 2 kidney stones in right kidney, ovarian cyst, cyst on cervix, stip of endrometriosis in uterus, mild asymmetry pituitary adnoma, solid mass on left lobe of thyroid, and septated cyst on right lobe of thyroid. Nothing has been biopsyed or treated for any of these conditions. What should i do?
Avatar m tn Other possibilities which present with such pain in the lower left abdomen are diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or kidney disease. You need to consult your doctor and get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn i am really worried my mum is 57 and just recieved a letter saying that she has bilateral ovarian cysts, she cant see a doctor just yet until her appointment which is a couple of weeks away, can you please tell me should we be worried about this and is it cancer, anything you can tell us would be so much appreciated, thank you
Avatar f tn Sorry for my delayed response. I am not aware of any natural remedies for ovarian cysts although that doesn't mean there aren't any. Since your MRI was scheduled for today, I suppose you are still waiting on the results from your doctor. I am interested to hear what it showed.
Avatar n tn I had to go to the hospital, They said it could be kidney stones, appendicitis,or ovarian cyst. I have a history of abnormal paps and endometriosis, I am scared it is cancer. I dont have insurance if anyone can share some info I would realy appretiate it.
Avatar m tn I have a history of complex ovarian cysts and fibroids. Had a benign cyst removed in 1990 and CA 125 was in the single digits. Continue with cysts and fibroids which have been monitored with TV ultrasound - they remained stable so no concern. CA 125 in 2003 was 7. Now about a month ago I had lumpectomy for stage 1 breast cancer - no node involvement. Plan to start radiation soon. Had my cysts checked and new CA125 is 56! Is there a good chance I now have ovarian cancer?
Avatar n tn Most people think cancer cysts are just cysts - make sure you get a biopsy if you have cysts near the ovaries. If you already have had the kids, see what he recommends or what you want to do about the cysts. I have ovarian cancer. My dr. had said I had cysts, getting old and fat - not much overweight 20-30 pounds. Said I was fine - said I didnt need the tests. But I insisted and they came back ovarian cancer near final stage.
Avatar f tn I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
Avatar f tn There is a study that says there is about a 40% risk of ovarian failure after hysterectomy. Another study says that the risk of ovarian failure is greater if one ovary is removed at the time of hysterectomy. Intact women's ovaries produce hormones into her 80's for optimal health and well-being. Ovary removal or failure is associated with many increased health risks and symptoms that reduce quality of life.
521147 tn?1212014822 It is usually diagnosed before the baby is born and can lead to kidney failure. The multicystic kidney (MKD) is a non-functioning kidney and its bulky mass is not causing any discomfort to some. Doctors can manage MKD by preventing and treating infections, maintaining blood pressure, and addressing any issues that arise with surgery. However, it is still controversial for this kidney to be removed. It is more important to repair any critical anatomic defect in the patient's other kidney.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm a 35 year old Female who went in for a CT scan for kidney stones (3rd time) Turns out I have a 3mm cyst on right ovary, 2mm on Liver and 1.7mm on Spleen. I can't get into my OBGYN until October. Some research I've done is scaring me into thinking I might have a later stage Ovarian Cancer. I've never had Cysts on any of the 3 mentioned before. I've had numerous CT scans over the years for Stones and Back.
Avatar f tn m not sure which type of imaging (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasound) is the best for viewing ovarian cysts. Do you have a copy of the report? If so, what does it say about the characteristics of the cysts? The important thing to know is that the ovaries produce hormones a woman's whole life which are critical to good health. Removal of even one ovary has been shown to do more harm than good when done for benign conditions (e.g., cysts or prophylactic).
Avatar n tn A urologist or nephrologist would help you with your kidney issue. A gynecologist would see you if it was an ovarian cyst. Perhaps your doctor misspoke. It happens.
Avatar f tn I think you should definately see a doctor to be sure you dont have a kidney infection. that can be very serious. The other thing you might have going on is ovarian cysts. They are quite painful, but not dangerous. they detect that is by an ultrasound. there is really nothing they can do for them but provide you with pain meds or low dose birth control pills can help the amount of cysts you develope.
Avatar f tn had the ct scan yesterday and they found nothing. No kidney stones, appendix looks ok and no ovarian cysts. I feel like I am back to square one! Went straight back to the doctors in the afternoon and she is puzzled. She said she wants to look at the ct scan/analysis herself and to see me again on Monday. She's given me some extra pain killers and told me to take the following. 8x paracetamol, 3x diclofenac, 4-8 codeine a day.
4032497 tn?1363221695 The common causes of ascites are liver cirrhosis, heart failure, kidney disease etc.Is it some form of infection since you have been prescribed antibiotics? Pain and burning in stomach can be seen in gastritis, reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis etc. If you are not having pain relief I will advise you to consult a gastroenterologist and get a complete medical evaluation done. Take a light diet and avoid hot spicy food.
