Avatar f tn Good afternoon. I just stumbled across this site after googling ‘ovarian cysts‘. I wondered if anyone out there has ever been in my (worrying) situation. I am 27 years old, a mummy to a beautiful 2 year old and 12 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I had an emergency scan around 6 weeks into this pregnancy due to pain on my right side. My GP feared an ectopic pregnancy. To my relief baby was fine. However, an 8cm side was found on my right ovary with a daughter cyst inside.
Avatar f tn I just went and got an ultra sound and found out that I have ovarian cysts. Will I still be able to get an abortion? I really did not want to get surgery, I wanted to take some medications for the abortion.
1081864 tn?1257519948 This combination of medications will get rid of most of your symptoms ( irregular periods, hair growth, acne, ovarian cysts). But obviously are not going to help you get pregnant if you are going for a girl! You might want to see a good endocrinologist in addition to your gynecologist. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Birth control pills can be effective at keeping these cysts from forming or growing as well as regulating the cycle (especially important in women with PCOS who tend to skip periods due to lack of ovulations). If you have blood relatives who have had ovarian cancer, then you may be at increased risk. But since the ovaries produce hormones into a woman's 80's for good health, their removal increases risk for a number of health problems.
Avatar f tn Breastfeeding would not cause ovarian cysts. In other parts of the world where greater numbers of women breastfeed for longer periods of time, there is no increased number of cases of ovarian cysts. Lactational amenorrhea is the norm in many parts of the world, and some women go years without having a period as they are extended breastfeeding on demand. Please do not let this put you off breastfeeding your next child, as it has not caused this to happen.
1798025 tn?1333814468 It has been observed that women who use OC pills have fewer chances of ovarian cysts so birth control pills may be effective in decreasing the size of these cysts. Painful cysts or very large cysts are removed surgically.Endometriomas and PCOD are associated with decreased fertility. It is best to clarify your doubts with your gynecologist. Hope it helps. Take care and regards!
6387286 tn?1389639786 t ovulate and thus cannot become pregnant. Hence it is luck that you have become pregnant. Please carry on with the pregnancy. Ovarian cysts mostly are not treated during pregnancy unless they’re large enough to cause pregnancy complications. Large ovarian cysts measuring 6 centimeters or more are removed surgically preferably during the second trimester and that too through laparoscopic surgery.
Avatar f tn HI NIKI THE ANSWER IS THIS IF THE DOCTOR REMOVED THE CYST WITH YR OVARY IF YOU HAVE ONLY 1 OVARY CLEAR OF ALL PROBLEMS YES YOU CAN CONCIEVE THE BAD NEWS IS THAT IF YOU DONT THEN THE OTHER OVARY IF THE OTHER IS BLOCKED TOO OR HAS ADHESIONS OR POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME ETC THEN THE CHANCE OF YOU GETTING BETTER IS NOT GOOD WITHOUT SOMEONE DOING AN OPERATION CALLED A LAPAROSCOPY THE CYST IF TENABLE WILL BE REMOVABLE IM SURE THEN ALSO THE OTHER ANOMALIES THEN THE PROGNOSIS OR OUTLOOK IS GOOD THE FACT
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
Avatar n tn However, you will most likely find women who can help you, women who have been in your situation in the Ovarian Cyst forum. If you scoll down to the right side of this page you will see Related Communities (underneath Community Members) and the Ovarian Cyst link is there. Those women are very experienced with ovarian cysts and I am sure they will be able to answer your questions.
1813956 tn?1316715823 Most range from 2-5 cm and disappear or shrink around the 2nd trimester when it stops sustaining the pregnancy or disappear all together by the time of birth. Ovarian cysts are common, most women get them every cycle when ovulating, however they remain very small and usually burst on their own without them knowing. The risks are minimal until the cyst gets larger than 8 cm.
Avatar f tn That's alright. I'm experiencing tense muscles in my abdomen, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts before, and my abdomen is tender when touched; I've read about this online and do you think abdominal rigity is the cause of this?
Avatar f tn Sorry about the confusing info. To try to clarify: 1) The paratubal cyst is unrelated to the ovarian cysts, and is something that you were probably born with but which enlarged at some point for reasons that we do not understand 2) Regarding your ovarian cysts, what was the pathology? If they were follicle or corpus luteum cysts, then these are what we call 'physiologic' cysts.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
1337047 tn?1275914064 However, I have heard that it is more difficult to see a gynecologic oncologist in Canada than in the US. Here is a link to an ovarian cancer group in Canada that may be able to assist you: http://www.ovariancanada.org/About/Contact-Us.aspx This link also has very helpful information: http://www.wcn.org/findadoctor/ If you don't have access to a gynecologic oncologist, it is still best to get that tumor removed sooner rather than later.
Avatar n tn You might want to post this in the ovarian cyst community forum. I know of 2 women there with dermoids that will know more than myself.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any women have had ovarian cyst in the past and been able to conceive or what the doctors do about it? I have been ttc but after having a lot of abdominal pain and pressure constantly they believe I have cyst, I go for an ultrasound this week to confirm but I am so worried about how this will affect ttc.
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar n tn 99% of ovarian cysts, masses, and tumors are benign. The symptoms for cancer are the same for benign cysts, too.
Avatar f tn Hello, This mass can be a cyst , benign or malignant mass. Ovarian cysts in post-menopausal women are common but any cysts in a postmenopausal woman should be taken seriously and ovarian cancer should be ruled out by means of CA125 which you have already got done. Ovarian cysts are considered for removal if they cause pain or have tendency to become malignant or there is elevated CA125. Given your history of abdominal swelling, ovarian malignancy can be a possibility.
Avatar f tn m not going to give you my advice on that aspect of it but I am a pro when it comes to ovarian cysts, so I will try and shed some light on ovarian cysts for you.. at least the best i can. I myself have had 3 surgeries in the past 2 years regarding ovarian cysts. I have had well over 10 ovarian cysts, 6 of which were removed. Your cyst is very small, I wouldn't worry too much about the ovarian cyst.
Avatar f tn In January of 2009, i had emergency surgery for an ovarian cysts on my right ovary. Apparently the cyst was 5 inches and twisted around my ovary. After the surgery, i had no pain up until June of that year. I had many ultrasounds done that confirmed i had small cysts. In April of 2010, i had laproscopic surgery to have a look to see what was going on. The doctor told me after that my ovary had dropped down due to a cyst and that my right tube was blocked.
