Ovarian cysts in cervix

Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts in cervix

I recently had a partial hysterectomy. They went in to remove my cervix and uterus due to my uterus being enlarged and hard and my cervix had pre-cancerous cells on it. They were only able to remove my uterus due to my cervix being attached to my bladder and abdominal wall by scar tissue from 4 c-sections. Long story short I have now developed a 5.1 cyst on my ovary and the ovary itself is enlarged to 7.3 cm. I have a small cyst on the other ovary as well. I am scared. Is this dangerous?
There is no adequate screening testing for ovarian cancer. The single effective intervention in the prevention of ovarian cancer is to remove the ovaries and fallopian tubes. You should discuss this with your doctor. I hope everything works out.
I went to my gp and he sent me for a ultrasound the report said have 1 cysts in my cervix and also some functional cysts, 1 dermoid cyst , suspected hemorrhagic cysts and also multiple complex cyst lesions on both ovaries, the doctor has referred me on to a gyn and ive just had a ca 125 blood test, result will be back Monday. Im worried that I may have ovarian cancer so wondered if you could tell me what sort of pains that someone with cancer would experience?
However, you will most likely find women who can help you, women who have been in your situation in the Ovarian Cyst forum. If you scoll down to the right side of this page you will see Related Communities (underneath Community Members) and the Ovarian Cyst link is there. Those women are very experienced with ovarian cysts and I am sure they will be able to answer your questions.
But, I did have it and my ovary removed in Nov. Like you, I went in for a VUS and waited through another cycle only to go back and find it had grown. I had laparoscopic surgery and recovery was not as bad as if I would have had a laparotomy. Mine was outpatient. I feel pretty back to normal now but am having some hormonal issues. I have to say that my pain did go away. The cyst was pushing my uterus over to the left and causing bad LEFT-sided pain, never on the right where the cyst was.
Hi There, one simple way to know if cysts are functional - that is- related to the ovarian - menstrual cycle is to wait a cycle or two and rescan. Cysts that are related to ovulation will be gone and be replaced by new cysts with the new cycle. A persistent or growing cyst may be a tumor benign or malignant. Ca 125 is not a screen for cancer. The result just tells us that this cyst or tumor does not produce the CA 125 protein. I am assuming that tha 4.5 cm, 2.8 cm, 3.3 cm and 4.
i am so scared we wont be able to concieve if i do have ovarian cysts. i go to the gyn in 1 week. my last pap was clear so i thought it was in my head, but im growing increasingly concerned...
I recently went to the Dr. and was given results of my ultrasound. I was advised that I have several cysts in my cervix. Should I be concerened? & Is this why I have lower back pains? Please advise as I am worried just a little.
i have pcos, so im pretty used to having cysts on my ovaries, but i had a vaginal ultrasound done, thinking they would find more ovarian cysts, but this time the results said that my ovaries were not visible and that i have cysts (as in more than one) on my cervix. im not to worried about my ovaries not being visible because i am overweight, but why am i getting cysts on my cervix? so many thoughts are running through my mind... cervical cancer, hpv, hysterectomy.
8 cm in length x 5 cm AP x 5.3 cm transverse. Simple cysts are noted in the cervix. The myometrium is mildly heterogeneous. There are several subcentimeter hypoechoic myometrial masses, likely small fibroids, but no significant distortion of the endometrial stripe or uterine contour. A 7 mm fibroid is seen in the anterior uterine fundus abutting the endometrium. Additionally, there are 2 small fibroids in the right lower uterine segment.
I had a Hystorectomy about 8 years ago but left the Ovaries at the time. I have no Uterus or Cervix. I have been in the ER 3 times cause of the pain.
Are you saying they found precancerous cells on your cervix and removed it and your uterus in your surgery? Did they remove both of your ovaries in your previous operation? If so there could be a remnant left that now has a cyst.
I just went in for my annual exam and things have gone downhill since. First my pap came back with atypical cells and i was scheduled for a colopscopy and biopsys, also at the appt the dr noticed a hardening on my right side which showed a growth on my overy, i wish i oculd tell you what it is but my hearing seemed to go when he statred talking.
The cervical dysplasia and the ovarian cysts are separate conditions and most likely no connection between them. The cysts sound small and the multiple ones make me wonder if you have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). The dysplasia is more serious and needs treatment before it develops into cervical cancer. Dysplasia itself is not cancer, but being advanced, you do not want to delay treatment, either.
On Tuesday I had my first biopsy in my cervix and they told me that I would spot and have grey discharge. I barely had any discharge, and I didn't even spot. And then on Friday, I randomly got my period for not even a day. I woke up to go pee, and when I went to whip there was a lot of blood, so I figured I got my period a week early. This was odd for me because even though I am not on birth control, I am extremely regular.
I went to my OB and she took a polyp off my cervix, did a uterine biopsy and ordered my first (of many) vaginal US. It showed complex bilateral ovarian cysts, enlarged ovaries and fibroids. I have had 5 serial US since the first in Sept 07 and I feel that I am nowhere closer to finding out what is wrong with me than I was 6 months ago. The cysts have gotten bigger (not alot), I still have some pain on and off throughtout the month and my period is more irregular.
I have endometriosis and was diagnosed with ovarian cysts in May. They were very painful. I had laproscopy surgery in June to have them removed along with the endometriosis. I got pregnant in November. I dont think that having cysts will cause you not to be able to become pregnant or will cause m/c. Think positive & Good luck.
IM TOTALLY MIXED UP ON THIS. 20 yrs ago had pre cancerous cells on the cervix, they cut them out and in hindsight I had a choice then of a hysterectomy but took the chicken way out.....now its the blinking ovary with a rude intruder. I HAVE to think its benign........and get it the heck out of where it does not belong. It really is a no brainer. And I AM not waiting till Jan for a second peep.
HI, I'm 21. My doctor has found two cysts one on both ovaries , thickening of my uterine lining and my cervix looks "irratated" so far they've tested for almost every possible infection and monday they tested for cervical cancer , they say the results come back in two weeks. I've read that when testing for reproductive cancers usually they test for cervical first. has anyone had a reproductive cancer that can talk to me?
I now have had at least 4 ovarian cysts in the last year. In January I had one on each side, and I'm waiting to go in for an ultrasound in a few more weeks to see if they are still there, or if I'm currently experiencing symptoms for a new one, (I was feeling great in February). I also have a new Dr. cause my old dr just shrugged off my concerns, and this last time only told me I had one, and saying it was no big deal. I actually found out I had 2 and one was complex.
I am experiencing the exact same problems. I have had three ovarian cysts in the last year. I have been on BCP for the past year. I found out this week I have the beginning of hypothyroidism. About 6mths ago, my TSH was 3.5 and now its 6.5. There has to be a relationship between the two. I have an apt with my PCP this week. Keep you posted.
I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum. Do keep us posted over there.
I had a mass the size of a medium football in place of my uterus. In my case cancer runs in the family so I wanted the junk out. I am now on my way to recovery, a long 6 weeks, but I'm happy to be able to live a normal pain free life again. Good luck to you....
It means that you have a cyst on the right side of your uterus and the ovarian cysts are normal...follicular cysts are the most common ovarian cyst and can easily be gone or smaller on your next ultrasound.
Hi There benign ovarian cysts will not spread . A condition called endometriosis can cause cysts in many locations including the uterus, the appendix, the lining of the abdomen. Cancer, of course by definition, can spread.
Hi, I had a hysterectomy in May of 2007 but I still have my ovaries, fallopian tubes and cervix. I had a CT scan for pelvic pain recently and the report read that I had multiple cysts on both ovaries. My GYN then did a vaginal ultrasound and it showed the same thing. He put me on a course of Femcon for two months and then repeated the vaginal ultrasound and it showed cysts on both ovaries and possible salpinge?
I just had the same issue. They told me that there was still a small amount of ovary adhered to the lining of my inside. When they pulled blood and took hormone levels it showed still producing enough to cause a regrowth. This produced enough hormone to generate a new cyst, being the size of a walnut between my kidney and intestine causing severe pain and nausea. I just came home from the hospital yesterday and am awaiting results from the biopsy.
