Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts gas bubbles

Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can cause bladder and bowel problems. In my case it was due to the size of the ovarian cyst and the pressure it was placing on other organs. In my daughter's case, the abdominal pain with the ovarian cyst was severe and caused nausea. By the time we discovered that an ovarian cyst was causing the pain, she had become constipated, which added to her irregularity and discomfort. Like MarieMichele, before my ovarian cyst was removed, I had to eat very small amounts.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding. I thought maybe it was the polyps that might be trapping gas; I hadn't thought of scar tissue . It's weird that the air bubbles don't pass like gas would, and give the feeling of needles at times--it really hurts. I haven't called the surgeon since it is soooo embarrassing, but I suppose at some point the discomfort will overshadow that and I'll call. I keep thinking maybe it will go away on its own. I really don't want another surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi springyes. I just replied to your message and then saw this reply from you on this post. When you say "felt so much gas rolling up my intestines" do you mean like you have bubbles of air/gas constantly in your stomach, particularly in the lower abdo? It's hard to explain but the last 3 days I have been having this too. Is is a normal sensation in the sense that it happens sometimes normally but when it is constant it is a very strange sensation. I was wondering about this too?

Avatar m tn Go to the pharmacy and get something made to break up gas (with simethicone) like Gas-X, MyTab or Phazyme, and take it. If it solves the problem, you'll know that was what it was. The part where you said it is difficult to stand up straight is what I was reacting to. That sounds more extreme than gas, but I guess if there is a lot of gas, it's possible.
Avatar f tn The ovarian cyst is small and being "simple" it is harmless. All the same, sometimes even the small ones cause some pain for being there. Maybe it's even putting just the right amount of pressure on other organs to be causing the gas, but maybe not. Simple cysts have the ability to resolve on their own, often in 1 or 2 menstrual cycles.
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts in the past. I also have gi symptoms including alot of gas, and some pain under my breasts, upper rib cage. I don't have any bloating, or increased abdominal size. I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
Avatar n tn Insist that they rule out ovarian cancer. Keep in mind that over 95% of all cysts are benign but you need to be sure. Take a look at the health pages (top right) for some good info to arm yourself with. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn Do you know why you have this? Some things you may want to try are an elimination diet to see if certain foods are bothering you, a gluten free diet (ask your doctor to test you for this before you change your diet), digestive enzymes (health store), ask for a SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) test or try eliminating carbohydrates for a short period to see if you feel better) and be checked to ensure you don't have ovarian cysts. Good luck.
Avatar f tn then raidates to my left side (flank area) i can hear gas bubbles, but no gass. To pass urine does not hurt but there is pressure (no infections). the pain is imense. it started after my surgery to remove my right ovary, always had pain there but never in my left one. ive now gone to every doctor on the planet and no one has answers, but it might be a cysts again. So here i am today, and the pain is back and now the pain is lasting more hours.
Avatar f tn Yep its gas bubbles. At 11 weeks your uterus would barely be peeking over your pubic bone at this time. I'm not sure if this is your first pregnancy or not but most of the time during first pregnancies you won't start feeling movement until closer to 20 weeks or a little bit after.
Avatar f tn I have had lower pain in my left side and around my back for 5 days. It feels like gas but took medicine and did not help. it hurts when i eat and then have to go to bathroom what could this be?
Avatar f tn Hello, Given your family history of ovarian cancer, it is important that the ovarian cyst has been sent for biopsy. Ovarian cysts are considered for removal if they cause pain or have tendency to become malignant or there is elevated CA125. Do not take undue stress as biopsy of the ovarian cyst is in your welfare only. It may be just a precautionary measure by the surgeon because your mother had history of ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn I have had really bad cramping and am wondering if this hard spot is a sign of ovarian my ovarian cysts. Now the lump itself does not hurt to touch.
Avatar n tn Yes, those symptoms can all be related to ovarian cysts.. Regarding the CA-125, that's good that it's normal..However, just fyi, it's not really too reliable in premenopausal women. Lots of things can elevate the numbers.. The Ca19-9 isn't usually an indicator for Ovarian Cancer I don't believe. I think it's used more for intestinal and/or pancreatic problems.. Did you have the Transvaginal Ultrasound ? That really is the best tool.
Avatar f tn Probably just gas this early along.
Avatar f tn Having just 5 periods a year is not normal, you need to possibly have some hormone tests done and possibly an ultra sound to check for ovarian cysts. As to the stomach making sounds, this is fairly normal, and for some people, having a BM three times a weeks is normal, but actually, it is better to have them more than that. Again, mentioning this to your GP is advised.
Avatar n tn I agree with Cindy that it is very unlikely to be Ovarian Cancer. However, young girls do get cysts. Actually cysts are very very common in young premenopausal women and 95 % benign. You may want to check the top right of this page; "Health Pages" . It has a lot of information about cysts . Of course we don't know if she even has cysts. And.. we're not Drs. here.. She really needs to be seen my by a Gyn. It could be one of many things.
Avatar n tn My doctor said nothing to worry about you have very small cysts on left ovary. This wasn't just stumbled upon, I had been complaing of pain and requested an ultrasound. I decided to get a second opinion and pick up the ultrasound report.I was SHOCKED to read the report. It said a, "soild low density mass cannot be excluded." Follow up recommened and transvaginal study reccommened. It said," Possiable left ovarian cyst versus soild mass.
