Avatar n tn The bleeding is definitely of concern. Bowel and urine and pain and bloating are all common cyst symptoms. Avatar n tn I have had a hysteroscopy (Oct) and NovaSure (March), and I am still having periods. The pain in my ovary area is killing me. I had my gall bladder removed on the same day I had the NovaSure. A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER. They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis. They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter. I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan. It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size.
Avatar f tn I don't know what effects Novasure (or any other type of endometrial ablation) can have on ovarian cysts. But ablation is associated with long-term problems especially when done on women under age 46. I recall a woman saying that a doctor at a top-notch hospital told her that ablation should not be done on women under age 50 because of the long-term problems. The ovaries, uterus and tubes work as a unit.
Avatar m tn I had the Novasure ablation surgery done March last year. I had a lifetime of heavy periods that were making me dangerously anemic. When my Hemoglobin dropped to 7 I was told I had run out of options. I wasn't ready for a hysterectomy at that time so this was our second choice. I am 48 years old and the hope was it would get me to menopause. In Feb of this year, my periods which had been much lighter but regular, stopped completely. I thought it was menopause and thought little more of it.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have a elevated CA-125 and it be hemorragic ovarian cysts? This week what started as I thought a stomach bug has turned into surgery to remove cysts and possibly my ovary(ies). I'm 36 yrs. old and at the beginning of the week I woke early in the morning with upset stomach and a little diarrhea. Then I had a little pain over in my right lower quad and small bm. By the middle of the week I had doubled over with pain in myat I can describe as contraction like pain.
Avatar n tn doctor keeps me encouraging to get a hysterectomy, take ovaries out, i'm terrified, i didn't heal quickly or easily from novasure, cysts and fibroid removal.. i am holding on and praying GOD lets me get thru this all the way to say done.. but it's hard, and sometimes i want to run and have them take it out.
Avatar f tn Hi, I noticed there aren’t a great deal of success stories posted with having the Novasure procedure, and I guess that is partly due to people being happy and not looking for further answers. I had the Novasure procedure and tubal ligation done on the 25th of March 2011, (9wks ago).
Avatar n tn I had the Novasure and a tubal ligation on 12/7/2007, and I started experiencing horrible pain and cramps in my upper abdomin and lower abdomin after about 10 days. My GYN called to check on me about 12 days after and said it was normal and probably would not stop until after I had my cycle. Well, today is about 15 days and I was in so much much pain last night and this morning that I was dizzy, had nausea, and diareaha. I had to sleep until about 12:00 p.m.
Avatar f tn Those are usually effective for heavy bleeding and sometimes resolve ovarian cysts. and less bleeding can mean less pain. They also level out the fluctuating hormones associated with perimenopause so may help the fibroids too. If you do not want to take hormones there are non-hormonal options that can help such as tranexamic acid (Lysteda) or an anti-prostaglandin medication (mefenamic acid). Prescription strength NSAID's may even do the trick.
Avatar f tn I am 33 years old and I have had several ovarian cysts rupture over the past year which always occur on the left side. I have posted before but am struggling again to find answers. I always have the same pain that is concentrated in my lower abdomen but typically radiates from my left rib down to my pelvic bone. It usually gets worse with any increased activity (excercise, sexual activity, lifting my daughter too much). It also is worse at night.
Avatar n tn peritoneal cysts at the uterine body and thickened junctional zone with several high intensity foci at the fundal region suggesting adenomyosis. Fluids are present surrounding the uterus as well as between the uterine segment and bladder. Small amount of fluid in the right adnexa. No fibroids or endometriosis; confirmed that I am not in menopause nor peri. CA125, hormone panel, CBC, and pap were fine.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn Which was 3 yrs ago. At that time i also had my tubes tied and last march i have the novasure procedure done. Now that i went off course giving u a slight history I'll go back to the er visit. the xray they said showed look like something was wrong with my intestines, so they did a catscan. After that they asked if i had any organ removed because they can not find my appendix. I said no i still have everything.
Avatar n tn I had an US about a month ago before I had the Novasure procedure done and Doc. said that I have a cyst on my left ovary but shouldn't give me any problems. I had another US done on the 10th of this month and she said that the cyst was still there but again shouldn't give me any problems. I have pain every other month in the ovary area when I ovulate. I know I ovulated on the 11th of this month because of the pain. Last night I had extreme pain(more than usual)in the ovary area.
Avatar f tn does anyone know about any correlation between severe menstrual cramping and ovarian and fibroid cysts? I had the Novasure done 2 1/2 yrs ago and my OB/GYN saw a couple of small cysts. They found a fibroid during an ultrasound during my 2nd pregnancy, but I never even knew it as I had no symptoms. My doctor acted like the cysts were no big deal, but as I right this I am positively miserable with these cramps.
Avatar n tn Secondly, the CA125 test is not used to diagnose Ovarian Cancer and is a poor test in pre-menopausal women. Many other benign conditions can cause an elevation in the number, such as fibroids, endometriosis and even an irritation in your abdomen. 39 is not too alarming - a number of women who have Ovarian Cancer will tell you that the numbers can get up into the thousands. The CA125 test is more used after a diagnosis of cancer has been made, as a marker to follow during chemo.
1478129 tn?1446978932 I'm almost 52 and I have some heavy periods.....I was going to do Novasure...but I was wondering if I should just wait it out..menopause shouldn't be to far off....also I have awful leg pain..is this a sympton of fibriods ?
Avatar f tn There are many causes for the CA-125 to be elevated. Infections, Endometriosis, even pregnancy. That's why they don't consider the CA-125 to be totally reliable in premenopausal women. There are just too many variables. Regarding the cyst: They are very common and 95 % benign so I truly wouldn't worry although it's good that it will be taken care of soon. It sounds like you're on the right track ..Is your procedure scheduled for this Monday?
Avatar f tn I am still very nervous and not sure if I should ,keep the one ovary I hear that ovarian cancer is a silent killer and I think just take eveerthing then I won,t worry any more. I have been told I was perimenopausal so it is going to happen any way so why not just take both ovaries and be done with it. I am wondering if any body out has any thoughts or suggestions. Should I keep one ovary or just go ahead and have it removed as well. I will be cut open like a c sec.
Avatar f tn I have fibroids in my uterus and ovarian cysts and pretty sure I have endometriosis. I also have pmdd. I'm very concerned about HRT after the surgery. I have anxiety problems and am hoping this doesn't make it worse. Can anyone tell me any of their experiences with this?
Avatar f tn IAM HAVING THE SAME PAIN and CONTRACTIONS and NOT PG I HAD NOVASURE DONE 7 + YRS AGO and NOW THIS PAIN WHATS GOING ON ?
Avatar f tn I also have ovarian cysts which cause a lot of pain as well and one of my previous doctors told me I had endometriosis. However, all that being said, there is one small problem, my current insurance will not cover a hysterectomy but it will cover the Novasure procedure.
Avatar n tn Hello. i just had the Endometrial ablation, Novasure done on thursday the 2nd, and I still have pain, pressure, and cramps. I barely bled afterwards. I was wondering if this was normal. i have alot of pain, pressure, and cramps. shouldn't i have more bleeding after this? i was told i would. Please can somebody help me? If someone can i would be so grateful.
Avatar f tn So when I come in with a couple of cysts and heavy bleeding they just tell me oh this is normal and your cysts on the ovary should not cause you pain. My next appt is on nov 6 and they are probably going to do the novasure procedure. (endometrial abblation) Let me know what you think of that? Have you heard anything about that?
Avatar f tn I went to my GYN (whom I love, BTW), and after several ultrasounds, was diagnosed with bilateral complex ovarian cysts. The larger one on my right side was almost 4cm, and the other one was smaller. Amazing that something so small could cause so many issues. At any rate, on this past Monday I underwent laprascopic surgery. They had told my husband that I would be in the OR about an hour, when in reality it was almost three. The cysts had attached themselves to the abdominal wall.
Avatar f tn I suffered from heavy period and ovarian cysts. The heavy bleeding has stopped since the ablation but I have had the same pain in the lower left pelvic area and on 10/5/11 I actually went to the urgent care as I suffered all night with it. They did an exray and a vaginal ultrasound and found fluid which was an indication that an ovarian cyst had "possibly ruptured".
4904782 tn?1361293599 I'm scheduled to have it on the 1st of May when I have the two cysts removed. I'm nervous as we all are at this stage and was looking for some feedback. does it make a positive difference having Novasure, are there side effects? Nervous.
Avatar f tn (I'm obviously perimenopausal at 49, but no menstrual cycle due to having Novasure procedure for heaving bleeding and multiple ovarian cysts 7 years ago). I was thinking possible Hashi's, but the antibodies don't indicate it either. Thanks in advance and sorry this was so long. I'm just a bit confused as to what's going on and don't believe it's all just "normal" or worse, "in my head". So, I wanted to get the board's thoughts.
Avatar n tn I just wanted to reach out and tell you that I feel your pain and have been very scared myself. I have a history of many ovarian cysts and that worries me too. My cysts have turned out to be functional, which basically means they will resolve on their own, but I get them every month. It is very painful, hard to sit, and feels like a lot of pressure in abdomen and rectum too. I also have been suffering with heavy bleeding and pain for about six months.
Avatar n tn She said everything looked good on the ultrasound, normal thickness of the endometrium, no ovarian cysts, and I do have 2 small dime size fibroids which have been there a long time. She wanted to wait a couple of months as I had just quit the ortho patch, and if the periods did not become more regular she wanted me to try another form of birth control pill or the ring. Well, this month I also had bleeding mid cycle for the first time, just light spotting again.
