Avatar f tn Blood tests....to check your hormone levels would be your best bet (pending you don't already have cysts on the ovaries). Not all women who have PCOS have cysts.
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
Avatar f tn If that is not the case, and if another repeat pregnancy test is negative, I would check some other hormone levels (such as thyroid and prolactin) and probably give you progesterone to induce your period. You may have a variant of PCOS, or a cyst, or other condition--go see your doctor! Good luck!
1470552 tn?1300605907 i've known several women who didnt have TD and had ovarian cysts. I'm hyper, but when I was euthyroid and had a partial hyster they found a cyst on one of my ovaries via u/s, but it was gone in two weeks. I never would have known it was there had they not done an u/s before my partial.
Avatar f tn I suppose a high creatinine level could indirectly be related to ovarian cysts as ovarian cysts can aggravate hydronephrosis, which in turn elevated creatinine levels.
Avatar f tn I also have a thyroid complex cyst and some nodules, but they are in the millimeter size and only need to be watched for now, but my FreeT4 was very low and so was the FreeT3 at least per the books and forums I read. The endo said my levels were normal and not to worry about the thyroid cysts, but I feel awful and have many of the symptoms, but he didn't care. So I'm with a holistic MD and using low doses of Armour, but he won't increase me and after 5 months I feel the same.
Avatar n tn She also had a lot of blood work done testing her hormone levels. I was told they were fine. Another doctor told me that the lymph nodes issue was an infection of some sort. Not her area so its up to the GYN to let me know. Thank you so much for your response.
Avatar n tn I have never had normal periods and have suffered from ovarian cysts. My husband and I have conceived a child once in our five year marriage and miscarried. My only consolation after receiving my bloodwork results was that they were taken midcycle by chance because I started my period two weeks later. My FSH was 23.9 and my LH was 101. The doctor said my estradiol/TSH/progesterone were normal. He did a pelvic U/S and found a cyst on my right ovary and two on my left.
Avatar f tn Until recently, my periods have always lasted about 6 days. For the past four months, my periods have lasted only 3-4 days. I've had numerous additional strange symptoms that sound like perimenopause: insomnia, constipation/bloating, hair loss on head, new hair growth on face, intense premenstrual cramping and lower back pain, low libido, dryer skin, and just last night I had my first night sweat.
Avatar f tn I have been having lower abdomen problems (burning constantly) for about a year. I have been seeing a Gastroenterologist and have numerous test done and have been diagnosed with GERD and Barretts Esophagus and IBS. I take medication and watch what I eat but nothing helps. I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems.
Avatar f tn When I was pregnant with my little boy 6 years ago my obgyn told me I had cysts but they weren't bad (they checked it). That day I found out my family (on my mom's side) has ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. I don't have medical insurance and I don't get paid enough to see anyone about it, but it has me worried that something isn't right, I'm usually normal but instead I've missed 4 periods.
Avatar f tn I'll try and keep a long story short. I'm 37 and have never ever had problems with my periods until this year. I had 2 in Feb 12 days apart, March was normal, April didn't arrive, May was normal and now, June, I'm already 8 days late. Blood tests for hormone levels were normal. I had an abdominal scan and transvaginal scan 3 weeks ago (after I'd had a period) which showed a 2cm left ovary cyst that had 2 blood clots inside and the cyst was just collapsing on itself.
Avatar f tn As far as knowing what you might have it could be a number of things, hormone levels not right, ovarian cysts, endometriosis. In my case it was all of the above. My periods at one time were irregular at one time and I would have them anywhere from 21-40 days. I had 2 ovarian cysts. As soon as that resolved, they returned to my normal 28 days. I still did not get pg. My hormone levels were off. My progesternone was low my fsh was high and my amh was low.
Avatar f tn I went to see and endocrinologist because my last reading was 4.68 and I keep having issues with ovarian cysts. My GYN wanted to make sure it was not PCOS because my sister has it. My other sister is hypothyroid and she is active and states that she feels awful when her TSH is greater than 2. I am just wondering if some are more sensitive to hormone fluctuations than others? I have never had an issue with ovarian cysts or fatigue before. This is not me...
501229 tn?1210133631 I am 23 years old and diagnosis with ovarian cysts. I am really thankful that I found this site and ask women who have health problem similar to mine. My doctor found one large dermoid cyst (9 by 9 by 5 cm) on my left ovary and one smaller dermoid cyst (3 by 2.5 by 2.5 cm) on right ovary. Both cysts are probably not cancerous.
Avatar f tn I exercise almost every day and have low body fat, but my doctor suggested I see a gynecologist since I may have ovarian cysts, and it runs in the family. I have an appointment in two weeks but would like to be well researched before I agree to take just anything. I break out very badly before and during menaces, and almost always have random pimples due to working out, even though I have tried every face wash and makeup fix.
Avatar f tn I had my hormone levels checked and they were WAY out of wack. I had a 14cm ovarian tumor and after removed, everything is already leveling out. SO...I would say YES, that does effect it!! :) Good luck sweetie!!
Avatar m tn you will know. it is pain like you have never felt before in your stomach. its like cramps times 100. you may also faint or feel light headed. and no you do not bleed in all cases.
Avatar f tn i am 44 and currently going through menopause. my hormone levels were checked and confirmed. i haven't had a period in 6 months. now i developed cysts on both ovaries and they are very painful. there are no signs so far for cancer. my doctor wants to remove the cysts. i'm o.k. with this, but he wants to remove my ovaries at the same time. he said they are not really working anymore. i will have to go on hormone therapy. i'm afraid, i've heard so many conflicting reports.
Avatar f tn Is this a typical symptom with ORS and ovarian cysts? Also, I am in the military. They mis-diagnosed my cervical stenosis for over 9 months and finally rushed me into emergency surgery when a civilian doc looked at me for 2 seconds. When I went to the ER this last time I was told they couldn't figure out what was wrong and maybe it would just go away. I then went back a week later with my stomach distended twice it's normal size. I was told that it was all in my head.
Avatar f tn I have PCOS and a history of ovarian cysts. I also carry the genetic marker for ovarian cancer. My greatgrandmother had ovarian cancer at 36, my gma was 41, my great aunt was 43. My mother and her sisters all had hysterectomies in their early 30s. I have a bicarnate (sp?) uterus and it is partially attached to my bladder. This hasn't caused me issues except when I've had uterine fibroids when I was younger. At this point I have scheduled surgery for April 1.
356929 tn?1246389756 Had abdominal CT scan in August (to check liver) and was told that I have fatty liver and ovarian cysts (minor notation on report). Side pain has gotten worse and enzymes still elevated. Had second abdominal CT scan to get a better look at liver and pancreas. Was told everything looked okay (still have fatty liver) but the ovarian cysts have grown.
Avatar f tn my sister was like that..she had/has ovarian cysts. The Dr put her on hormone therapy aka birth control. Not sure if the cysts caused the crazy double monthly but they caused massive cramping. The sooner you get it checked out the better. ...
Avatar f tn t think you need to be worried based on those results. Cysts that are worrisome for ovarian cancer are usually 5cm or larger and complex (have solid parts). Hemorrhagic cysts are very common. Most cysts (both simple and complex) do turn out to be benign. Be sure to have follow-up to confirm that your cysts are not growing larger. But, to me, it sounds very good in terms of NOT being malignant.
