Living in a different province for this pregnancy I am curious to see how the dr's with handle it here. With my son I had several u/s to monitor for growth, ect.
654396 tn?1237508912 1) ovarian cysts are pretty common during the early stages of pregnancy and in the vast majority of cases are benign. Cysts usually "go away" on after a few weeks but if the dont, the doctor might consider options but only if the cysts are large (usually 5-6 cm) or cause you pain 2) its possible, but there are other reasons for multiple cysts too 3) it would be unlikely, but not impossible 4) not sure about this one. When is your next doctors appointment?
Avatar f tn I too have a cyst, not sure how big it is, but my doctor really isn't worried right now. He said if it starts causing problems, severe pain, bleeding, etc then he will look more into it. Lots of women have them their whole pregnancy and they are fine. I hope that you and I are the lucky ones that it doesn't cause problems!! Good Luck.
Avatar n tn Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go. Depending on your age, birth contorl pills are commonly tried to control heavy bleeding and pain.
Avatar f tn It makes NO difference if he ejaculates or not, you can still get pregnant. Take a pregnancy test with first morning urine, and you need to start using condoms and birth control until you're ready for children.

Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts and tumors? Often, ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms. You may not realize you have one until you visit your health care provider for a routine pelvic exam. Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. If you have any of the symptoms below, it's important to have them checked out. That's because they can also be symptoms of ovarian tumors. Ovarian cancer often spreads before it is detected.
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
Avatar f tn It is very common to have ovarian cysts during the first trimester and some even go until after the birth of your child. Most cysts do not cause harm to the baby or pregnancy, and almost 100% of women with an ovarian cyst can go on to having a full term pregnancy and healthy baby.

Avatar m tn They are small, fragile, non cancerous growths in the cervix or uterus) and neoplasia, endometriosis, fibroids(benign (non-cancerous) tumors that often occur in the uterus of women during their thirties or forties),uterine cysts and uterine sarcomas. In my opinion you need to get your pelvic examination done from your gynecologist along with investigations like complete blood count, thyroid function tests,PAP smear and ultrasound uterus.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.

Avatar f tn Changes in menstrual bleeding are common. Women may have bleeding and spotting between periods, especially during the first few months. Sometimes the bleeding is heavier than usual, however, the bleeding usually becomes lighter than usual and may become irregular. Mirena makes the lining of the uterus thin, and this thinning causes lighter periods. Twenty percent of women completely stop having periods after using Mirena for a year.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts mostly are not treated during pregnancy unless they’re large enough to cause pregnancy complications. Large ovarian cysts measuring 6 centimeters or more are removed surgically preferably during the second trimester and that too through laparoscopic surgery. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn Due to an irregular cycle my doctor sent me along for a dating scan yesterday. During the scan they found two cysts on my right ovary measuring around 5cm... she didnt seem too worried but my doctor has since called to ask me to come and see her regarding the scans.. I do get a bit of occasional pain on my right hand side from time to time but nothing too serious. Just wondering if anyone else has had cysts during their pregnancy and what it meant for you? Thanks!
