I have to admit that I am worried...I'm 36 years old and wanted to ask you if you think this could be ovarian cancer? The nausea isn't always but on and off, the loss of appetite and the amount I can eat seems to stay they same every day and my stomach is bloated...
For the last 4 months I have had pain on the left side of my stomach down to my pelvic area, a nagging pain sometimes dull or sharp near and around the belly button, also consistant bloating that will not go away in a circle around the belly button. Had endometriosis removed, symptoms still came back I don't think it was the endo causing this. I don't know what to do anymore, I feel like my doctors gave up on me. Could it be ovarian cancer?
Dear Ramona, I am glad to hear that you are scheduled to see a doctor. While your symptoms are nonspecific which means they are present in lots of different conditions, bloating and intestinal disorders have indeed been associated with ovarian cancer. My big question to you and the female members of your family is: have you undergone genetic testing for BCRA gene mutations? Has your sister who got ovarian cancer?
My sister recently had a large cyst and ovary removed. 3 months later her stomach has grown and grown and it looks as if she is 9 months pregnant. She was advised today by the local GP that he needed to do cancer tests as the results were cancerous. It does not make sense. My mother & brother died of cancer and little brother has prostrate cancer.
I think I need to explore cause am afraid of ovarian cancer. This is no longer a silent disease. Anyone have any comments? This discussion is related to pelvic pain and stomach blotting.
Im only 20 but i still worry because my gma had breast cancer and my mom died of colon cancer at 44. so i read about the hereditary ovarian cancer and i was just worried if it could be that. i only get in for an ultrasound jan. 18. do you think i should go to the ER or do you think i am just worrying too much?
Im 19 years old and I have been told that I will need a series of 3 blood tests over a few months to determine if i have ovarian cancer. In October I was in the ER with a very sharp pain in my right lower abdomin, the doctors first thought it was apedicitis but they concluded that i had and ovarian cyst that as about 2cm and was sent home with vicodin because it was prbly bursting.
The doc said he wasnt sure what he was going to do until he got in there and looked at the ovaries, he would do his very best not to have to do a colostomy. Im and petrified !! My question is can endometriosis be the cause of the thin bowl movements and bloating/gas. Or am I looking at possibly ovarian cancer etc. I am not in a lot of pain.
I began having severe abd pain, cramping and bloating, diarrhea and gas. I also have urinary symptoms and low back pain. prior to this I had always been very healthy. My doctor did an abd ultrasound and said I had an ovarian cyst and put me on BCP for 3 months. He did an FSH and it was 19.1 He told me I was starting menopause, My symptoms worsened and I was sent to a Gastroenderologist, he did an endoscopy and a colonoscopy which were negative.
and i was referred to another ob-gyne who ordered ca-125 that have a reading of 2,580 i have been told by my doc that i have ovarian cancer, she will refer me to a oncologist this coming january 3, 2012 yet, i can already feel pain in my lower back, do you have any idea at what stage my OVCA is now?
There are different tumor types of ovarian cancer. Mine is mucinous ovarian cancer. It usual shows up in women in their ealy 40s to 50, most commonly. I am 47. I think average age is higher for other types of ovarian cancer. At your age ovarian cancer is extremely rare. My advice to you is just to take good care of yourself. Get your annual gyn exams and pap smears. They don't show ovarian cancer, but they are important. Don't worry so much. Just enjoy your precious life.
I can't get in until next week and I am worried that I might be waiting to long if it something more serious. I have almost every symptom of ovarian cancer. Should I wait or find another doctor who will see me right away?
Hi name is Tammy, I was diagnosed with stage IIIc ovarian cancer in 2003, since then I have had surgery to remove ovarian tumor the size of a basketball, the omentum, appendix, and a couple of lymph nodes. From there I underwent 9 months of intense chemo of carboplatin, topotecan, and taxol. I had a severe reaction to the carboplatin at my last treatment.
The blood test CA-125 is a test used by Dr's as a guide to determine if you have the most common form of ovarian cancer, approximately 80% of all ovarian cancers are epitheal ovarian cancer which is cancer of the cells on the surface of your ovary. Please keep in mind that CA-125 can be elevated if your menstruating and some other cuases of inflamation..
I know that the 2 times I had surgery the ultrasound clearly showed a tumor and a cyst. In any case, remember that less than 1% of ovarian cysts are cancer. If your fibroid is really large it may cause some of the symptoms you listed just by being so large. As for CA 125 mine was always normal - even when I had cancer so I really don't put much stock in that test. From what I understand, an elevated number means further tests should be performed.
what does the last line about physiologic activity mean? also another question is this cancer ovarian cancer or thyroid cancer? I have heard it was thyroid cancer but my echart says ovarian. will copy and paste what it says. Health Issue Date Noted Malignant neoplasm of other specified sites of uterine adnexa 08/26/2006 Adnexal mass 09/21/2013 Ovarian cancer 10/29/2013 Thank you again for your time. You really do seem to care about people.
By then my stomach was so bloated that they decided to drain it and said they found ovarian cancer cells in the fluid. I am hoping that this is not a guarantee of cancer, but am guessing that it probably is. I had a CT the next day and was suppose to get an immediate appointment with an ob/gyn. It has been two weeks and I still don't know the results of my CT. They said I need to wait until I see the ob/onc to get the results, but I don't see the doctor for another two weeks.
Recommend you go see OBGYN cause what you are describing sounds like Ovarian cancer symptoms..Could be a growth that is pushing on a nerve. Had similar problem, constant diahrea, lots of gas, shortness of breath...went many times to Gyno who kept sending me to other specialist (gastro, lung,) only to come back to the GYNO with Ovarian cancer. Not saying that you have it but should be elimintated as a possibility.
About 3 months ago, I went to my OBGYN because I was having a lot of ovarian type pain mostly on my right side, along with the leg pain. She did a transvaginal ultrasound and said that there were two very small cysts, one on each ovary. I was surprised, because I am breastfeeding and have not resumed my menstrual cycle yet. Anyhow, she sent me to a neurologist who ran some tests, including a MRI to look for a slipped disc or pinched nerve in my back......nothing.
Yes, I have been on the pill for a long time. The doctor said that he could feel a tumor in my right ovary. He explained to me that a tumor could be a cyst or a solid mass. I guess I'll find out in the morning when I have my ultrasound. I just really worry because the doctor said that the burping is not consisant with a cyst and that it could be a little more serious than he originally thought. I just have to get through tonight and maybe tommorow they will have a better idea of what it is.
I am a 31 yo mother of three who has been experiencing stomach cramping, slight abnormal bleeding, lower back pain, pelvic pain, hip pain and frequent need to urinate for over a month now. My GP sent me for a pelvic ultrasound, which they found nothing except that I have an enlarged uterus (deciding that is due to my three children). I also went to a GYNO for a second opinion - she did a UTI and bladder infection test - both came back negative. She also reviewed the ultrasound results.
I am doing a project for one of my classes and I was wondering if ovarian pain could be caused because of puberty, ovarian cancer, or even mastrubation.
I have had increasing pain from ovarian cyst for about a year. The pain has been pretty constant ranging from a dull to excruciating pain. The last month the pain has been constant and getting worse. I had a pet scan last October for lung nodules and my right ovary showed on the pet scan with a high uptake. Results indicated possible malignancy. Had CA 125 test showed normal. Every ultra sound shows the cyst and now showing mass 6cm. Dr's do not seem concerned.
