osteoarthritis

Avatar f tn re seeing is probably osteoarthritis (the wear and tear kind). Rheumatoid arthritis can lead to osteoarthritic changes, but OA does not mean you have RA. RA and OA are two completely different conditions, but many symptoms of both cross over so it's easy to confuse the two.
650397 tn?1228831384 Hello, Without examination, confirming a diagnosis is tough but the various possibilities for your symptoms are muscle fatigue or strain from overuse, stress fracture, tendonitis, claudication, osteomyelitis, arthritis(osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or inefctive arthritis), nerve damage like sciatic nerve pain (radiating pain down the leg) caused by a slipped disk in the back or benign tumors or cystsof the bones.
Avatar m tn Is there a blood test or some other test doctors can do to tell if Hep B is causing rheumatoid factor? I would like to avoid being put into arthritis category unless we are absolutely certain this is what it is.
Avatar n tn I'm virtually certain I don't have the rheumatoid(arthritis) One could develop/get it anytime(as I recall), & even osteo from rheumatoid, I suppose. I was diagnosed with osteo in '03 & show no egregious new symptoms which would suggest rheumatoid. If the opposite(were true), I'm certain my physician would've had me do the tests you recommend(ed) I know there's "no cure" for osteoarthritis, but inhibit acquiescing since I (appear to) have it.
Avatar f tn Happy, happy, joy, joy . . . I have arthritis in my right knee (sought help because of the Baker's cyst I've coped with since June). My MS journey began with a rheumy two - three years ago, but there was no indication of arthritis at that time. I moved on to a neurologist and quickly left thoughts of arthritis behind, but I'M Baaaack (read that in a slow creepy voice :).

Avatar n tn However now since multiple joints are involved, it goes more in favor of associated arthritis. It can be osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or even reactive arthritis. You would need some tests and X-rays of the joints to diagnose this. The pain in the joints can also be due to overweight, hypothyroidism and diabetes. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult yur orthopedic specialist.
900459 tn?1304993259 I can't say I did, but rheumatoid arthritis can strike at a young age. You will want to get endocrine disorders ruled out as a cause of your joint symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 33 year old female. My mother has had rheumatoid arthritis for 30 years. I have been having various joint pain for some while now, wake up in the night in pain, and am very stiff and sore in the morning for at least 2 hours. Pain is in back, shoulders, hips, wrists and hands and knees. No lumps or anything though. My RF test came back 10.0, which I assume is completely normal. I had a thyroid antibody test done too which was over 1000, and have been hypothyroid for 3 years.
Avatar n tn Similarly if you were prone for arthritis such as osteoarthritis, the period of inactivity could have aggravated the arthritis and hence swollen joints. There are various causes of multiple joint pains like osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic pathology, thyroid problems etc. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. There are no swollen joints associated with inactivity alone as the cause. However inactivity aggravates an existing joint condition like arthritis.

Avatar m tn I have had blood tests for arthritis, Osteoarthritis and connective tissue disorders. All came back clear. These were all reviewed by a specialist who said there was nothing he could see that could be causing the problems. So now I have no idea what to do?? I am a 30 year old male however I feel like I'm 80. I haven't exercised in years due to my fragile joints. Can you shed some light on what may be causing these symptoms??

Rheumatoid(Inflammatory Arthritis), Mild Osteoarthritis, Hyper-Reflex, Recurrent non-epileptic seizure activity(Myoclonic Jerks)severve jerks. 3. Fibromyalgia, migraine headaches. Avatar m tn The other causes for the pain are rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Arthritis or bursitis can produce pain in the joints. Arthritis is inflammation of the joints. Bursa are sac like structures above and below the joints which helps in the movement of the tendons around the joints. These can get inflamed causing bursitis. If the pain persists consult your doctor for an evaluation. Regards.
Avatar f tn While yes, it is possible to have a slightly high count without any cause of concern, it is best to rule out certain conditions which can slightly raise the WBC count due to inflammation. These conditions are stress—physical or emotional, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, thyroid disorders, IBS, Crohn's, celiac, food intolerance, insertion of an IUD (in women), food intolerance, anemia, allergy, dermatitis etc. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
