osteoarthritis

Avatar n tn I have a repaired torn rotator cuff of the right shoulder. I have been diagnosed with lumbo-sacral apophseal osteoarthritis primarily in the left part of my lower back. I have no leg pain but occasional cramping in the left lower leg. I take 3-5mg percocet daily for chronic pain and 12.5mg paxil. The pain in my back is getting worse because I am a student and have to sit in poor chairs in college.
Avatar f tn osteoarthritis, osteoarthrosis or osteochondrosis. Did you have any fracture? Check your calcium levels and if required take supplements and have a healthy balanced diet. You would need lifestyle changes to limit the degenerative disk disease. Follow proper ergonomics. Consult an orthopedician and follow up. Take care!
Avatar n tn These injuries damage the menisci and the articular cartilage, eventually leading to osteoarthritis and osteoarthrosis. The primary goals in treatment of ACL rupture are restoration of function in the short term and prevention of long-term pathologic changes in the knee. The pooping knee may be due to Discoid meniscus - an abnormally shaped meniscus in the knee joint. The discoid meniscus can cause problems, usually a popping sensation with pain over the outside part of the knee joint.
653169 tn?1303446369 I also have seperation of some of my toes. I also have degeneration in lumbar and hips My research agrees that I would have RA vs. Osteoarthritis. even though my orig. blood test for RA was negative. This is so frustrating. My doc wants to do the RA blood test again, but I am broke with no insurance and can barely afford meds I'm on. Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar f tn Let me start by saying I am in pain everyday from head to toe, I am 64 & otherwise in good health. I am currently being treated by a Rheumatologist for cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc disease, osteoarthritis of ankle & foot and Achilles tendonitis. and am not getting much relief. What concerns me the pain which occurs at the base of my head, if I turn my head while lying down, I can hear crackle from that area & pain follows.
Avatar f tn changing the patch ev. 12 hrs and I was in more pain vs. not taking any NSAID at all via mouth. It actually made the pain worse .. worse than not even taking my meds by mouth! I have been on Mobic for 2yrs 15mg (labs drawn ev. 6 mos and kidney ok) for a severe tibial tendonitis/arthritis of the ankle ... I cannot live w/o the med due to the pain but oftentimes get some GI side effects and also if taken too close to my Synthroid (thyriod issues) I get very tired and/or anxiety ....
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have orthoscopic knee surgery on my right knee to correct problems I am having related to osteoarthritis. Does this type of surgery prevent osteoarthritis from returning? Is this surgery safe? What is recovery like after surgery? Any information anyone has regarding this topic will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have osteoarthritis in the toes, knees, hands, and shoulders so have to be careful not to aggravate the joints and cause further damage. I also have back problems so need to be careful not to throw it out of whack. Any suggestions other than the ab lounge and walking that I can possible do to get rid of the gut? As for food, a little rough cooking for me. I try to make meals I can freeze.
