513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

408795 tn?1324935675 I have extensive Osteoarthritis in my upper back and neck from an accident I was in over 20yrs ago. I had an accident and I broke my right leg and my left arm. As a result my right leg is slightly bowed and therefore around a half inch shorter than my left leg. As a result it has affected my back and neck. Lately my legs have been swelling and itching, mostly the left. I certainly feel it's all related to my right leg injury.
Avatar f tn I have pain in both my upper arms. I suffer from osteoarthritis and wondered if it is connected, I know it is in my spine. The pain is enough to disrupt my sleeping, and I sometimes find it difficult to pick up or hold a book to read because it's so painful. I have to sleep on my side and I'm not sure if it's connected to that. I have tried putting heat on and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Avatar n tn I currently have restricted range of motion in my left and right upper arms. This has been a slowly worsening condition that has been progressing for perhaps 6-10 months. Please note that when I first noticed a diminished range of motion it was so minor with no pain that I didn’t even know at the time that something was wrong and figured it was just a result of losing flexibility as I aged.
Avatar n tn Try taking some vitam B6 along with a good multi-mineral and vitamin supplement, also, see a chiropractor, maybe you have a pinched nerve in your neck or upper back and this is causeing the trouble.

Avatar f tn I have osteoarthritis in my back and hips. The physiotherapist has given me exercises to help with the pain. Best thing is to keep active, if you can. Hopefully the ortho will help, and a rheumatologist, like I have seen, will help you cope with the arthritis.
1044526 tn?1254514545 This report is of the large amount of osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease that you have in your back. The report deals only with the bones and the appearance of the nerves AFTER they have left the spinal cord - so the peripheral nerves. this report has nothing to do with MS, but might offer a reason for problems. The report does not even mention the spinal cord itself, so it is very incomplete.

Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.

Avatar n tn I have recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, but have been suffering with a pain in the upper part of the inside & back of my legs, (not lower part of legs) it can only be described as cold & painful to the touch, or rather I cannot bear to touch it or for anything to touch the area because it feels icy/freezing. The easiest way to describe it is if you put your hand on the ice in your chest freezer for a while it becomes painful to the touch.
Avatar n tn I have not been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but I have this pain that nobody seems to know how to diagnose. I had upper back pain for a few months (4 months) over a year ago and that has not come back. Besides that, I don't have any other real symptoms. Im 26 years old and I am a guy and I am not sure why I am in pain.
Avatar n tn m wondering if your doctor was being creative in saying you have osteoarthritis which is the type of arthritis associated with age or over use of a joint.
Avatar f tn I think that thigh atrophy and tight calf muscle would definitely pull things out of their normal position, causing extra wear and tear. I think osteoarthritis is less of a bummer than rheumatoid, so maybe it could just be a bow on your neat single package. Kathy I would LOVE to wrap up everything in a nice single package! I have so much going on that I totally confuse my doctors. I get confused myself, trying to figure it all out so I can make the most out of my life.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
