Avatar f tn Do SSB and SSA autoantibodies change from year to year with sjogrens? Could something else be causing my symptoms? My eyes are a little dry (scratchy), but is is not as bad as my other symptoms. . Each rheumatologoist I saw said somethiong different. (One said Osteoarthritis, another said sjogrens, and the third (who just gave me a consultation) said possible connective tissue disease. How can rheumatologists disagree with each other, and how can I know who is correct?
Avatar n tn I'm a 29 year old male. In 2006 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee after an exam by an Orthropedic Doctor. He is a very fine doctor and very smart. The problem is that now many joints are hurting. My knuckles (on fingers not on hands), my elbows and both of my knees are hurting. It's been going on for about a 3 days. My elbows just started hurting then. I have a family history of RA. My doctor told me that the knee he looked at was for sure Osteoarthritis.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a problem when I exercise I get areas of reduced vision, a bit like when you have looked at a bright light, these areas are always in the same place, in both eyes.
Avatar m tn t think that is what you are looking for. What symptoms are you experiencing now? What treatment has the doctor prescribed? What area of your body is effected?
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar f tn I have had symptoms that have been increasing over the years. I am now 54 years old and have tried to stay in shape and stay active and have kept my weight down most of my life (has gone up 10 lbs in the last year). I have an elevated ANA-IFA Titer that is 1.16 homogeonous, ELISA normal, normal SED rate, normal thyroid levels, CRP has been elevated in the past but not with my last labs.
2167803 tn?1338529751 The only way to diagnose osteoarthritis or autoimmune arthritis is with x-rays and blood bests. Your thirties is not to young to develop osteoarthritis (the wear and tear type) if you are athletic, or conversely, if you DON'T exercise, if you're overweight, or if you have a congenital deformity in your knees that is only now making itself known with pain. I'd say go in for an x-ray, at the very least.
Avatar m tn Wave of dizziness/unsteadiness felt in head/eyes. Sometimes a feeling of pressure in head/mild headache. Feel the need to press my fingers into my eyes for light relief. Onset of this phenomenon started at age 7. Was referred to Neurologist(no longer practicing) and had first EEG test on 05/24/2000 along with an ear and eye test. MD concluded no abnormalities in any of the tests.

Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have orthoscopic knee surgery on my right knee to correct problems I am having related to osteoarthritis. Does this type of surgery prevent osteoarthritis from returning? Is this surgery safe? What is recovery like after surgery? Any information anyone has regarding this topic will be greatly appreciated.
209987 tn?1451935465 I just read elsewhere that her symptoms are typical of osteoarthritis...mine are not. In fact, the article said that red and hot are not signs of osteoarthritis at all, but they could be symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, major organs shutting down, allergies, etc. My doctor looked at my hands one day and said that I had osteoarthritis...they were "normal" that day. I have had big knuckles since I was a child...
Avatar f tn Does anyone have osteoarthritis and bone spurs? How fast do bone spurs grow? Do they grow on the base of the thumb? I have a lump that is hard (and hurts if I press on it) and about the size of a small pea, that was not there in September. In under 2 months this lump grew, and I want to know if it could it be a bone spur, or a rheumatoid nodule. (I have "diffuse osteoarthritis" in my joints and spine) and I am only 58. Does osteoarthritis manifest like this?
Avatar f tn Bleeding easily Bruising easily Fatigue Poor appetite Yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes (jaundice) Dark-colored urine Itchy skin Fluid buildup in your abdomen (ascites) Swelling in your legs Weight loss Confusion, drowsiness and slurred speech (hepatic encephalopathy) Spider-like blood vessels on your skin (spider angiomas) It takes decades if infection for hep c to cause liver disease. The symptoms listed above are those of liver damage. For most people hep c has no symptoms.
Avatar n tn My mother, 2 sisters and 2 brothers all have either had Graves disease, thyroids removed, and/or on medication. I have all of the symptoms of thyroid [I am 71 yr old] but T4 uptake shows normal. I also have inflammatory osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Are there other tests my doctor should be ordering? I have fatique, sleeplessness, very dry skin and eyes, joint and muscle pain. I exercise constantly and am a label reader and eat very healthy and yet I weigh 198 lbs, 5ft. 4in.
Avatar m tn I had the joint pain before I ever treated for Hep C but the rashes were new with treatment and the ones that stayed were mostly Psoriasis type lesions. I also had some other symptoms such as dry eyes and mouth, both of which I had had for years. I also had a positive ANA. I waited for several months after treatment and then saw a Rheumatologist in July 2013. I told her I was concerned that I had an autoimmune disorder.
