Avatar n tn The acromioclavicular (AC) joint in the shoulder is a common spot for osteoarthritis to develop in middle age. Degeneration of the AC joint can be painful and can cause difficulty using the shoulder for everyday activities. I also believe that your Knee can be affected in the same way. Arthroscopic Distal Clavicle Excision VideoSome joints in the body are more likely to develop problems from normal wear and tear. Degeneration causes the cartilage that cushions the joint to wear out.
Avatar f tn However it should be in your distal most joint of the middle finger. If the proximal joint of the finger is involved, early rheumatoid arthritis can be a third possibility (and age is not a criteria in this one). A generalized body ache can be related to whether change also (especially when cold climate is present). So i would suggest you to take some NSAID's and wait.If it subsides,no need to see a specialist. However if the same persists, orthopaedician advice will be required. Regards.
Avatar m tn 12 years ago, I had ACDF C5/6 and bilateral open acromioplasty & rotator cuff refair on shoulders. Neither surgery relieved the burning, aching pain when I lift my arms above my head or do repetitive motion with my arms. Have done a lot of PT throughout years and it never helped. 14 months ago, shoulder doc did MRI that showed osteoarthritis of glenohumoral joint & undersurface partial tearing of distal supraspinatus tendon.
Avatar n tn 8 x 2 x 2 mm soft tissue galgion at the volar margin of the distal radioschaphoid articulation. Minimal effusions of the distal radioulnar and the radialcarpal joints.
Avatar m tn Correlate for any history of recent trauma along this region. The AC joint or Acromioclavicular joint, is a joint at the top of the shoulder - your MRI shows edema in the bone marrow, which would be normal and expected with an injury of the shoulder - in addition to mild degenerative changes. If you are over 45-50 get use to that "ugly term" degenerative changes - it means our parts are getting older, worn and degenerating. PT is the normal treatment for your condition.
Avatar m tn If only a small portion was involved and tendons were unaffected, recovery may be near normal; however if the joint was involved, the distal inter-phalangeal joint may not be rendered capable of movement. It would be best to discuss the expected prognosis in detail with your treating orthopedician. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Avatar f tn Comminuted fracture of the distal posterior tibia with intra-articular extension into the tibiotalar joint. The fracture also extends medially, to the posterior aspect of the medial malleolus. Small bone fragments are seen along the medial distal tibia. Tiny bone fragments are seen at the distal aspect of the medial malleolus. Avulsion fracture of the anterior inferior lateral tibial plafond partially comminuted oblique fracture of the distal fibula extending to the lateral malleolus.
Avatar f tn No acute fracture or joint dislocation is identified involving the left knee. Bones of the left knee do appear somewhat under mineralized relative to the right knee. Areas of sclerosis within the lateral tibial plateau and lateral femoral condyle are demonstrated, as well as within the distal femoral metaphysis. One or all of these sclerotic foci may represent sequelae of avascular necrosis given reported history. No significant joint space narrowing is identified.
Avatar f tn Mild tricompartmental osteoarthritis manifested by loss of joint space, marginal osteophytes and mild cartilage loss. No full thickness cartilage defects.4.Knee joint effusion with no osteochondral intraaticular bodies. 5. Bilobed popliteal cyst.Cortison injections were given I have had problems since I had syvinal injections which worked for 7 months. Pain in knee and the gel injections a second time in April. Knee pain has returned. I also have RA and have been on Plaqunil for a few months.
539750 tn?1226521677 Distal radio ulnar joint should be properly visualized by an X-ray scan. Acute dislocations and subluxation of the distal radio-ulnar joint (DRUJ) may be isolated or associated with radial head fractures. After a proper diagnosis start conservative treatment with the help of your orthopedician. Surgery is also an alternative. Take care!
1176578 tn?1263753089 My question is, could the joint stiffness in the night and mornings be related to osteoarthritis? Or could it be signs of RA? I see my family doc (first check up in 4 years in a couple of weeks) and I'd like to know the right tests to ask for. I am in constant pain despite the pain medication. I have a great job and family, my husband is a tennis teaching pro and my kids and he are fit and slim. I feel I am missing out on so much because my pain and extreme fatigue keeps me sidelined.
Avatar m tn Mild glenohumeral joint osteoarthritis and a small joint effusion with synovitis.
20577991 tn?1501111823 I am curious of others opinions, Also, perhaps someone could explain what tendons/ligaments I may have injured that curl the most distal joint of the great toe. The MPJ of the second toe is where the majority of my pain is. Will it simply resolve over time? I am about to start CRNA school in a month and if I have surgery it would need to be soon. Thank you for your time and information!
1248885 tn?1285832739 The readings were Chronicfindings seen, including midfoot osteoarthritis and a small bone island within the distal right tibial metaphysis, which is a benign finding. additionally, I am likely obese, with a huge amount of subcutaneous adiposity. Yes I am obese. My question is what can be done to heal the ankle, stop the pain? I am going to finally see a pt on monday, my dr, sugested she may send me to a podiatrist. I am so fusterated with this.
Avatar n tn What's the cause of pains in the wrist and fingers? Also stiffness on flexion and extension? How can this be treated?
Avatar f tn This is the report from MRI Osteoarthritis in the left shoulder with cartilage erosion and mild joint effusion associated with osteoarthritis in the acromioclavicular joint with mild impingement over the superior surface of the left supraspinatus muscles. No ratator cuff tear or tissue retraction no muscles astrophy.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn Hello, The various possibilities for popping, clicking joints are a cartilage tear or rotator cuff tear that is rubbing with the joint, arthrosis or degeneration of the joint and arthritis esp osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.More harmless is clicking of joints due to relatively lax joint capsules, that allows more than a usual amount of movement. Try stretching your joints if you don’t like cracking them as often and pls do stretches that stretch the ligaments around those joints.
