I had been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in the left knee and beginning in the right knee four years ago. I was told that I was bone on bone in the left knee. Since I was only 50 years old the doctor said that I was too young for surgery. Four years later, 1 less thyroid, additional weight, I have been told I am too fat and I need to get my BMI down before they would consider.
I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
/ I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
For almost 2 years, I have been, and continue to be, treated for Fibro, Osteoarthritis, Senile Osteoporosis (daily injection of Forteo), high blood pressure and low/none vitamin D, and periods of low white cells. Was checked for the usual, RA, Lupus etc. Nothing showed up. Previous health-worked fulltime around 50 hours a week or more, constantly going and doing, did many family dinners, active runner, won divisional 5k first place and masters and weight trained. BMI is around 20.
Ive never had a problem in my pregnancies this is my third. I guess it kinda depends how under weight and low her bmi is. I drink ensure plus calories for weight gain. Maybe look into something like that to help her along? I have never been categorized as high risk due to my weight but I can say that being high risk they will generally just monitor her more closely to make sure baby is growing well. That may mean extra ultrasounds and doc appointments.
My baby is due approx 12-14th July so im around 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and i have a BMI of 38. This is really concerning to me due to the complications that could come with it. This year i managed to lose 2 stone on my own so was doing well and then got pregnant. We are over the moon about this after 17 months of trying but i really want to do whatever i can to stay healthy for me and the baby and hopefully avoid any bad cravings.
I'm curious why the weight tracker also draws a curve for BMI. Unless your height is changing, BMI and body weight are perfectly correlated, right? Isn't the BMI curve redundant, i.e. aren't the two curves identical?
