I just finally recieved the results from the MRI with Contrast a year after the initial injury. I was also diagnosed two years ago with Hashimotos and I do have issues with arthritis although still trying to get a handle on it as I speak. Here is the report: Indication: R hip pain, question labral tear.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, How old are you? Has there been a previous surgery? Congenital hip dysplasia is due to the abnormal hip joint socket articulation. The harness is recommended for minimizing the impact of the problems and the subsequent symptoms. Less mobility or flexibility on one side is a typical feature of Congenital hip dysplasia. Chronic abnormality at the joint would lead to undue pressure and prone for osteoarthritis. Surgery is unlikely of any great help.
Avatar f tn m just worried these are early signs of AVN or Osteoarthritis. Thanks in advance and if you need any other information, I'll answer anything you need to know.
Avatar f tn You probably have the onset of osteoarthritis which usually is first noticed in the hip, especially when lying on it in bed.
1175033 tn?1492201228 I went to Shriners hospital when I was 13ish, and one of the doctors there told me that I could need hip replacements by the age of 35. I didnt want to believe him, but now I starting to realize why he said that. I also have noticed reoccurring pains in alot of my joints along with stiffness and muscle spasms. I also have weird bone growths, on my ankle, heel, toe joints, finger joints, Im too young for all this. My sed rate always comes back normal.
Avatar n tn I am taking 1500mg Glucosamine Sulphate + 1200mg Marine Chondroitin + 1000mg Omega 3 fish oil daily. Despite this the symptoms have now spread to my right hip, right shoulder and slight symptoms in my right knee. I get some relief from taking 400mg of Ibuprofen at night so I can sleep. Is there anything else I can do to try to halt the progression of the disease? Or are there any better meds I can take. I am 54yrs old, female and not over weight and physically active.
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from chronic hip pain for about 8 months. I had THR surgery of my right hip on 1-15-08. I seemed to be recovering at a normal pace until December of 2008. I started experiencing pain in the soft tissue of my right hip. I returned to my orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis. Xrays confirmed the hip was good, to be sure a bone scan was ordered, it also showed that everything appeared normal.
Avatar f tn I take it 3 or 4 times daily. I have severe osteoarthritis and need a total right hip replacement. I had a total left hip replacement 3 months ago.
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
1388332 tn?1285346447 Have you checked with your Doctor at all concerning this pain in your Hip? You might be encountering the beginnings of Osteoarthritis in your Hip Joint. I've lived with that for the past 36 years. I've had 2 hip implants and I'm getting ready for a third in September.
Avatar m tn My question is whether anyone can tell me if osteoarthritis in the lower spine can cause grabbing, debilitating pain that causes the patient to cry out it is so severe. These pains act like pinched nerves, but MRS and Neurological testing shows no nerve damage from the spine. The regular arthritis pain increases gradually when the patient is walking and prevents walking altogether after about 15 yards. The grabbing pain is additional to the regular pain. The only relief for the pain is sitting.
Avatar n tn I have been looking on the internet and found a few things I am thinking it might be like bursitis, because i allso have a constant pain in my left heel as well for like two weeks now. I was allso thinking osteoarthritis which my dad and uncle have and they both had symptoms at an early age,but my doctor has done a blood test in november2010,and just did an x-ray of my hips and lower back and said that there were no signs but i really believe it is.
Avatar n tn it sounds like you have bursitis. Arthritic hip pain usually gives you groin pain, not lateral hip pain, worse when laying on it. I'd go to the doctor and ease your mind.
Avatar f tn It sounds a lot like hip displasia. In dogs, the problem almost always appears by the time the dog is 18 months old( 1 yr, 6 months) The defect can be anywhere from mild to severely crippling, and can eventually cause severe osteoarthritis. It is most common in German Shepherd Dogs, Labrador or Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers and Mastiffs. It is known to be hereditary but can appear on it's own as well.
Avatar n tn There is also a bone spur on the neck of the femur. According to my surgeon, these changes are early signs of arthritic changes in my hip. I am willing to believe that, but I do not understand how he can determine the cause of the changes in my hip by just glancing at the x-ray. What testing is normally done to differentiate between osteoarthritis and bone mets?
5093508 tn?1390543931 What are signs? Are chest pains:, shoulder.papins & painful coughs..? Chest &shoulder pains the r keeping me awake back pain is worse . It hurts 2 cough & THERE'S MUCOUS .

Avatar n tn In your case, as it is already diagnosed as osteoarthritis, there is a possibility of increased inflammation in the hip joint, that could happen due to stress, infection etc. Osteoarthritis of hip is a common degenerative hip joint disorder that tends to affect older people. The main symptom is pain in the buttocks, thigh and calf. Treatment involves rest and antinflammatory drugs until pain subsides. Also antibiotics and hormone terapy can be implicated depending upon the severity.
Avatar n tn While bearing weight (backpack for example) or just walking sometimes, something in my right hip feels like it slips out of place, then a sharp pain shoots down my leg. The sharp pain usually only lasts a few seconds to a couple minutes; however, it is very common to have a general ache for a while (few hours to couple days) after a "slip". When it is bothering me (2-3 days/wk), I can have weird numb/tingling feelings all down my right leg and dull achy pain in my hip joint.
209987 tn?1451935465 In fact, the article said that red and hot are not signs of osteoarthritis at all, but they could be symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, major organs shutting down, allergies, etc. My doctor looked at my hands one day and said that I had osteoarthritis...they were "normal" that day. I have had big knuckles since I was a child...and I am " skinny as a rail" , which makes the knuckles look even bigger.
Avatar f tn I would advise you to consult your doctor for a reevaluation of your symptoms. Depending on the severity of your symptoms he may prescribe medications and may advise physical therapy. In the meantime, Avoid those movements or exercises that aggravate your pain. Try not to lift weights or bend as this can worsen your symptoms. Try applying local analgesic creams. Place ice over the painful area every 1-2hrs for pain relief.
Avatar f tn There are a multitude of conditions that can cause Hip Pain. I am wondering if you could have Trochanteric (Hip) Bursitis. The bursea in our hip is the largest in our body. When it flares up it is very painful and causes the symptoms that you describe. There is no way to know exactly what may be going on... so as suggested you should visit your PCP. If you have Trochanteric Bursitis it can be a fairly "easy fix.
