1175033 tn?1492201228 I went to Shriners hospital when I was 13ish, and one of the doctors there told me that I could need hip replacements by the age of 35. I didnt want to believe him, but now I starting to realize why he said that. I also have noticed reoccurring pains in alot of my joints along with stiffness and muscle spasms. I also have weird bone growths, on my ankle, heel, toe joints, finger joints, Im too young for all this. My sed rate always comes back normal.
1110049 tn?1409402144 Now told I have osteoarthritis in spine. Had no back pain, only the hip pain. Presume this is what is known as referred pain, but I must admit I am bemused. Does glucosamine or any other supplement help with arthritis in spine? I am 69 yrs old, so know it is due to wear and tear.
Avatar n tn The acute pain has sort of disappeared and now it is a more subtle pain that is located more in the groin area of the hip. I take baby steps and have limited mobility in my right hip and feel a stiffness in my lower back as well. It has really slowed me down and I'm totally depressed because I don't want to live with this pain. I do take either meloxipam or ibuprofen (trying to figure out which works best). Either one helps just a little, but not as much as I would hope.
Avatar n tn I can barely move from the pain--stabbing pain in both feet, pain in most joints (though my knees are ok) in my legs, and now, severe pain in my left hip. It eventually goes away as long as I keep moving. I don't smoke or anything like that. I've mentioned this to my GP and she just says this can be typical for my age. But I work with people my age and they don't look like 85 year olds when they first start moving.
Avatar n tn I take the flaxseed oil capsules, 1000 mg morning and mid-day for my own osteoarthritis in my jaws as well as for mood. Certain foods are rich in omega fatty acids as well, like macadamia and walnuts, pumpkin seeds and freshwater fish, such as salmon and tuna. And Ester-C (gentler on the stomach than plain vitamin C) can help with circulation to the area. Using moist heat might help relax some of the stiffness she feels.
Avatar f tn You probably have the onset of osteoarthritis which usually is first noticed in the hip, especially when lying on it in bed.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn I can not kneel down and get up, or walk on my toes, or stand on one leg. 7-I feel very ill every single day; I have morning stiffness; The hair has stopped growing on both legs; I get itchy rashes on my chest that last less than an hour. What the doctors found so far: Blood tests; (CBC, MET, TSH, and TB, all normal. ANA by EIA method, low positive. Doctor said it did not mean anything.). X-rays in 2003: Osteoarthritis of hands, knees, ankles, and spine.
Avatar n tn I have over the last few years had severe groin and hip pain, am female early forties. Initially this was put down to osteoarthritis but the pain and weakness is out of all proportion to the level of damage. One interesting finding in various tests was a severe vitamin d deficicency. A typical symptom of this is difficulty crouching, which I have too. Make sure you get that checked. Re the tingling it may also be worth getting your b vitamin levels checked too.
Avatar n tn How do I get rid of the chronic stiffness in my foot(right; & hand) ? Doc surmises(diagnosis) inflammed tendons( I ran for <20 years, now ceased). What's the cure for osteoarthritic inflammation, or does everyone cop out with, "there's no cure" & go enjoy life(while others suffer) ?
Avatar n tn I am a 38 year old female with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis and disk narrowing in my lower back. I have been told that this is the cause of frequent lower back pain, right hip pain and occasional syatic nerve issues. I am not sure, however, if this is the cause of my knee pain on the right side, but I also fell on this same knee back in the Fall of 2007 and I am not sure if that caused my current knee pain or made an existing problem even worse.
7486852 tn?1410352184 Have you ever been checked for RA? Do you have morning joint stiffness and/or paint.
1021831 tn?1331605848 I am 58, female, have M.S., osteoarthritis, 2 hip replacements and recently lost my balance in the bathroom and fell on my butt on the ceramic tile floor, went and had x-rays, not cracked or broken but painfull, using a cane, very difficult to walk. Can I do anything to help the pain, stiffness, the dr. gave me tylenol 3 for the pain. It also hurts in the right groin area.
1176578 tn?1263753089 Over the past year I began to experience joint stiffness in the mornings. I am now at the point where the stiffness has gotten so bad it wakes me up in the night when I try to move after being in any position for a prolonged period of time (usually waking up every hour to stretch the joint out). As a result I am exhausted most of the time. The stiffness lasts for a couple of hours but comes back quickly if I sit in one position for any length of time.
Avatar f tn It does sound like you have more than osteoarthritis going on, especially with the morning stiffness. What other tests did he run? I copied this from another web site to give you some insight. It does mention Sjogrens. There are other auto-immune arthritis diseases that can give you your symptoms where your RF is negative I hope you can get some answers. How is it used?
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
Avatar m tn knee osteoarthritis . Is electrical nerve stimulation(tens) an effective therapy for providing pain relief?
Avatar f tn morning stiffness, discomfort and pain in the joints. You did not mention your age but this is a common complaint after 40. That is something you can discuss with you doctor after his vacation. In the meantime, try adding an NSAID such as Motrin (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) to your regiment as long as you are not allergic and have no contraindications. I hope this will help and do discuss this with your doctor; but as I said before, I don't think those three meds are to blame.
Avatar f tn Anyways, I have muscle stiffness in my right thigh with pain that goes straight down to my toes! Morning stiffness is the worse. There are times where the pain is tolerable then I move and there is shear pain that shoots down my leg. There are times that I could swear I feel the rod in my leg and I can not move my leg without this severe shooting pain down my leg. Now I do have sciatic that is caused from my lower back. I currently take 500mg of lyrica for the nerve pain from my back.
Avatar f tn By the time I had my left hip replaced I thought my righ knee was gone for good tgoo.
