osteoarthritis

Avatar m tn Hi Teak Thats correct 12 weeks is the guidelines set out for a conclusive negative result by government bodies in Australia. However, the growing trend with our sexual health clinics is they are now advising 6 weeks (again modern tests) and in a lot of cases they will not retest. I had to go to a different clinic to get my 12 week test, but im with you and advise a 12 week test for the conclusive result.
Avatar f tn What is making me very worry is that i saw that in what they called the mistral perform country in give research australia the guidelines is since 5years of 24weeks post pep and I think it is the same in the US and Canada. Did we alteady see somewhere a4th génération test negative a 12weeks become positive later. ? Who is right? AUSnd US guidelines UK or European guigelines ? 12 or24 weeks post pep?
1266954 tn?1270217525 For the past years, I have been taking 3-4 7.5/325 Vicodin per day for "total body osteoarthritis". I have tried NSAIDS, aspirin, and Ultram without any relief. Also, because of a previous HA, I want to avoid NSAIDS. When Vicodin was changed from Schedule III to II this year, my GP became more reluctant to continue my 3-4 pill per day "habit" due to regulatory pressure to wean patients completely off opiods of any strength.
Avatar m tn testing guidelines. (However it may be worth noting that if you lived in Australia, the guidelines there would advise you are definitively negative.) There is no doubt that the vast majority of those infected with HIV will have detectable levels of anti-HIV antibodies in their blood by four to six weeks. Extremely rarely, seroconversion is delayed out to beyond three months. Improved testing techniques are allowing us to pick up anti-HIV antibodies earlier.
Avatar n tn ’s, While doing some research on this site and others I have come across some conflicting information from the CDC vs. the SHC. I was curious to know why Australia publicly says that antibody testing at 6 weeks is conclusive, while here in the US they say the 3 month mark is conclusive (sometimes even 6 months or longer at certain offices/clinics).
Avatar m tn I mentioned this to my MD at my annual physical and she felt that it was probably osteoarthritis (mainly due to the fact that there was no redness around the joints). She didn't order any kind of tests to confirm this diagnosis. I've also started to notice some tenderness in my elbow joints when resting my elbows on a table, and my knee joints have been a bit stiff and sore after using my exercise bike.
Avatar m tn Just letting you guys know that in Melbourn, Victoria, Australia the sexual health clinic there has told me that a 4 gen HIV AB/AG test is conculsive after 6 weeks no need to retest this clinic is GOVMENT run they would not make things up. The doctors on the expert forum will tell you this allso. There is no need to stress for 3 whole months any more.
Avatar m tn I started it promptly. I was detected HbsAg/ australia antigen positive 6 years ago. After several repeated tests, my viral load (HBV DNA) was undetectable and HBeAg was negative. Last one was 1.5 years ago. I stupidly did not disclose this to the doctor that prescribed Truvada and now I am worried that this could cause the HBV to mutate and reappear. Could it happen? What should I do?
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar m tn / I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar m tn You may like to retest at 12 weeks if you wish, but just FYI in my country (Australia) official guidelines state that 6 weeks negative with a 4th generation hiv test is fully conclusive with no follow up required
Avatar f tn Do you think Australia will eventually use rapid hiv tests to combat the hiv rates in Australia. I know Australia has great resources but read that they have not implemented point of care rapid tests.
Avatar m tn can this be the reason of why price differential are so big? and if so, can it be the reason for the expanded guidelines for testing here? thanks!
Avatar f tn I know in australia we use 4th gen elisa tests.. which does the same thing except has a higher % chance of being correct after say 4-6 weeks of exposure. 3rd gen from memory is conclusive and entirely reliable at 3 months.
