Common Questions and Answers about Osteoarthritis foot toe

osteoarthritis

Avatar f tn Where most people get bunions my foot gets painful and red and from the back of my great toe straight back on top of my foor I get a throbbing pain and sometimes I can't even stand the sheet to touch my foot. Now the other one is starting off and on to hurt. I have been diagnosed with high risk osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I am wondering if I could have fractured the metatarsals(if thats what they are in the foot) or can it be arthritis causing this burning terrible pain.
Avatar f tn It then turned out to happen when I was riding a bike with my cousin and got my foot caught in the chain. it’s my middle toe, and it doesn’t bend. it doesn’t ever hurt or anything. I’m just curious will it lead to any problems in the long run..
1467506 tn?1286413017 I had surgery on my foot 2 months ago to remove a bone spur on the top of my foot. I also had a toe (second toe, next to great toe) that was affected by separate pain and had completely turned crooked. The top of my foot - where the spur was removed is still very sore and painful if I wear shoes that tie or walk for any distance. The entire foot feels cramped as well. The toe issue is unchanged - still the same pain as before bone spur surgery.
1678656 tn?1369233818 I was being a dummy and riding a tube pulled by a boat and we had the bright idea to tell the driver to go faster! I fell off and hit my right toe on the water. When I finally caught my breath and got out of the water, my toe was in an incredible amount of pain. Okay, I hurt my toe, pain, yadda yadda. Well, that was a year ago and it still hurts! Nothing's broken.
Avatar m tn I have been recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my large toe. I believe it is from repeated trauma to that joints having been climbing a local mountain and upon descending much stress is put on that lead foot. I take glucosamine and that's about it, although I do wear insoles in my running shoes that help a bit. There is swelling that doesn't diminish and pain is intermittent. I'm considering checking into surgery and wonder if anyone has any advice about this. Thanks !
Avatar m tn Hello, The various possibilities for popping, clicking joints are a cartilage tear or rotator cuff tear that is rubbing with the joint, arthrosis or degeneration of the joint and arthritis esp osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.More harmless is clicking of joints due to relatively lax joint capsules, that allows more than a usual amount of movement. Try stretching your joints if you don’t like cracking them as often and pls do stretches that stretch the ligaments around those joints.
Avatar f tn I am trying to decide which is the best way to go. I have osteoarthritis in my foot, and I have to decide between an joint replacement or a fusion in my right great toe. I would like to know the pros and cons to both so I can make an informed decision.
Avatar m tn I am 52 and had fusion surgery on a pinched nerve that I had on the L5 of the spine in 2012. I had no problems in 2013. This year, 2014, about a month ago, I started getting a numbness, tingling, pins & needles feeling on my left leg and right foot big toe. I have osteoarthritis and had fusion surgery in May on my right foot big toe that goes numb. The pain would start in my hip/buttock area on the left side and would go down to my outer shin area.
Avatar f tn t work and made my stomache on fire for hours) he diagnosed me with mortons toe- if your big toe is shorter than your second toe you have mortons toe- it can cause horrendous foot pain, leg pain, back pain and even headaches- all Of which i have suffered with for 10 years!!! I'm going insane i cannot tolerate this level of constant pain. I'm now bedridden as it hurts more to walk or even stand.

Avatar f tn A month or so ago I was spending the day w/ my daughter out of town. I wore a new pair of boots, and associated a small pain in my left foot as a blister forming. Later in the day I got another pain in the tip of my left middle toe, and also associated that with the new boots. It was a busy day and night and into the evening during an awards ceremony, the back of my left knee was very tender to the touch, and I was wearing jeans. Just sitting there, the pain got worse!
1084398 tn?1277304810 Right foot - dominant 1) Flat feet, familial - really bad pronation 2) Post viral (Parvo B19) ankle arthritis from 1999 3) Hallux Rigidus - this is degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) which renders the great toe unable to bend upward. It is rigidly straight. It's also called a Dorsal Bunion - on the top. When you walk you must achieve about 80 degrees of bend in the back foot toe for a proper stride.
1558461 tn?1295392601 Can cronic Arthritis in a big toe, cause the metatarsal and heel pain to worsen?
Avatar n tn He is not the podiatrist that did my first surgery and said that the first surgery was somehow not done correctly and that now he would have to go in and do three incisions(one on the big toe, the 2nd toe and the 3rd toe. He said recovery time would be about 8 weeks and I would have to wear a boot that comes up to my knee. I do not know if I should consider having a second surgery? Has anyone else ever had a second surgery to correct a previous bunion surgery? If so, what were the results?
1831849 tn?1383228392 I have what feels like athlete's foot. It's a mildly painful sensation under my toes, in the area between the 'toe pad' and where the toe connects to the foot. When I look at the area there doesn't appear to be anything there. It's soft and smooth. I've had real athlete's foot before and there was always some visual indication. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Avatar n tn I'm adiabetic with problems with feet ingrown nail big and small toe. I all so have fungal thickening. The fungal part around my toe is black.
5081736 tn?1363311067 I have had a small black spot between my first and second toe of my left foot for a few months. At times, it is tender to the touch but does not itch or burn. I have not noticed a change in the size of it since I first noticed it there. I do have shingles which flares up as a burning itching rash on various parts of my feet and lower legs for the past 4 years. I also suffer from nightly nerve pain in both feet. It feels as if I am being touched by hot pokers.
Avatar f tn I have a question regarding my foot anyone with information would be greatly appreciated. I have pain in my right foot, mainly my big toe and the one next to it, and have resorted to altering the way I walk in order to achieve some sort of relief. I have tremendous pain after sitting and standing up. I do not have medical insurance and am wondering if anyone has any tips, remedies, etc that could help me.
Avatar f tn I started playing hockey three weEks ago and noticed that the top of my foot was numb from past my nuckle of my big toe all the way to my ankle....
Avatar f tn Ok this sounds weird but under my big toe and second toe under the the skin of the ball of the foot it feels like there is fluid there. No pain, no swelling but it feels like a blister under the skin. Any ideas as to what it is. Was in a accident about 3 weeks ago, was rear ended nor major injuries just some spazzing muscles in neck and back. But this problem hasn't gone away yet.
335728 tn?1331414412 I get toe cramps, too, on my right foot, mostly. My third toe sticks DOWN and moves over under my fourth toe; such a weird, painful thing! Sometimes warming it up under running water helps. I also get the cramps in the bottom of my feet, so my toes fan out and cramp, too. That used to happen only in my water exercise classes, which I had to give up. Now it happens in bed.
Avatar n tn I decided to soak my feet in slightly warm water with dead sea salts later today, and when I took my feet out, I noticed a smaller, less than pea sized red lump on the bottom of my left heel, and the rugburn feeling rash/lumps on my second toe spread to the side of my big toe and to the top of my fourth toe on my left foot and the side of that toe between the pinky and my fourth toe. I don't know what this is, but it seems to be spreading pretty fast.
Avatar f tn Also , my left foot is half a size larger than my right foot and the top of my left big toe presses against the top of many of my shoes including my tennis shoes, which worsens the pain. If anyone has any alternative theories, I would love to hear them! Thank you very much.
Avatar n tn get a rash kind of like athletes foot in between my pinky toe does not spread comes in the summer and i have used differant foot creams but it just continues to stay itchy skin peels goes away in winter what is it
Avatar m tn I am having all sorts of pain in my foot and leg and can't seem to get a diagnosis. So far, I've seen two podiatrists, neurologst, PCP, and will see an orthopedic surgeon in about a month. Last year I rolled over my big toe with a pallet jack that had a pallet on it at an old job. Well at the time it didn't break my foot or cause any bruising or any type of problem that required medical attention so I let it go.
Avatar f tn I had the hemi toe implant done on my big toe left foot back in Oct. 2011. I also had bone spurs removed, I was told this was the best fix because I have arthirtis in my joint. I knew they very next day something was terribly wrong. I have had rods put in my back and this by far the worst surgery I have ever had. My doctor said no boot no crutches get up and walk immediately after you leave the hospital. OMG ....Its been almost 5 months and there is no relief in site.
5091090 tn?1363467915 First off, I am unsure whether I posted in the proper area. I initially wanted to post under ask a doctor, but I couldn't find anything having to do with foot pain (I.E.: Podiatrist).. so apologizes if this isn't the right place. Anyway my name is Mandi, and I am 25 years of age. I am seeking an answer or possible answer as to what is wrong with my feet and if there are any suggestions as to anything I can do to decrease the pain and how often it occurs.
