Avatar m tn I have pain in the right knee for two years now. X-rays show lack of fluid in the knee. Thus giving lot of pain. I have tried all sorts of therapies, but to no effect. I am now thinking of either get a shot or replace the knees. The left knee is also on the brink. I have to use pain killers. Please advise about taking a shot if I should take a shot of Synvisc-One. This discussion is related to Changing from Supartz to Synvisc-One shots.

Avatar f tn I have osteoarthritis in my back and hips. The physiotherapist has given me exercises to help with the pain. Best thing is to keep active, if you can. Hopefully the ortho will help, and a rheumatologist, like I have seen, will help you cope with the arthritis.
Avatar n tn I am 19 years old. I have a lot of crepitus at shoulder and cracking (also along right arms) continue to bother me now almost 6 months. The doctor said ' this is the chronic shoulder pain'. I'm confused. I don't feel such pain. Except if i carry heavy load, i felt pain at upper chest. But i do feel very tired, i mean a real tired, include back pain/tired most of the time. Numbness on-off. Is that considered pain? The doctor set me on MRI. still havent done yet.
Avatar n tn If you have osteoarthritis then have acupuncture for pain relief
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar f tn I have had some back pain in the past and recently had some lower back pains. Now my back keeps popping (never had this before), it doesn't really hurt when it pops but very uncomfortable. Sometimes I'm feeling a pain between my stomach and abdomen area.

Avatar m tn Back pain. Was diagnosed with osteoarthritis, my right hand started to go numb in just two fingers now it's my whole arm. Had back x rays showed pinched nerve on l5s1. The most painful part is I have to bend my spine to get relief I'm constantly bending backward to relive pressure. What's this from. I'm 24 male} I'm currently taking naproxen, flexril, lidocain patches, predistone (when needed for swelling).
Avatar n tn ) and physical therapy- The pills take the edge off the pain and the therapy will (hopefully) help strenghten the muscles around my joints. Good luck!
1175033 tn?1492201228 Hi Stacey, I'm sorry you're having so much pain at such a young age! I've had rheumatoid arthritis since age 5 and have had both hips replaced - obviously for a different reason from yours, but it really did improve my quality of life. One of my cousin's daughters had the hip deformity from birth as well, and spent much of her babyhood in a huge cast. She took ballet which I think helped stave off the inevitable, but she too will eventually need implants.
Avatar f tn I do not think its osteoarthritis or anything similar. I am not in pain, I am uncomfortable because I feel the constant need to move, stretch, and crack my neck and back. I also feel it in my arm and hand when my back is acting up. I think it has something to do with my nerves, I just don't know what...
650397 tn?1228831384 Hello, Without examination, confirming a diagnosis is tough but the various possibilities for your symptoms are muscle fatigue or strain from overuse, stress fracture, tendonitis, claudication, osteomyelitis, arthritis(osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or inefctive arthritis), nerve damage like sciatic nerve pain (radiating pain down the leg) caused by a slipped disk in the back or benign tumors or cystsof the bones.
Avatar m tn My sister, 61 years old, has scoliosis and severe osteoarthritis in her lower back. She endures debilitating pain. Since she is an alcoholic, she is not a candidate for traditional pain killers or opioids. 1. Would Baclofen be a possible treatment for managing her pain? 2. Is it possible that Baclofen might have a secondary, off-label, benefit of being a possible treatment for the alcoholism?
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
587778 tn?1261397118 My parents elected to have my entire leg caste for 6weeks rather than surgery. In the last two months, I began having pain on the inside of my knee that is tender to the touch. Even when I palpate the bone it hurts. My doctor sent me for an X-ray and it reveal mild osteoarthritis.
Avatar m tn For example, had you have known that the heavy wallet you kept for the past 30 years in your right rear pocket couple with driving an automobile with the seat all the way back, plus adding in an extra 20 pounds around the waste is the real problem not the pain in your back. The wallet causing you to sit off center and the driving with your legs straight out forces you to pull on your lower back instead of pulling the seat closer using more of your knees than back might show you some relief.
Avatar n tn HI critterhappy, the only qualifications I have to answer you're question is that I too have osteoarthritis of the lower back and possibly hips...I can't say I've ever heard or felt any 'popping' in my back....this would to me indicated that something is out of alignment perhaps?...do you feel alot of pain when this happens? Does it feel to you as if some bones are rubbing on one another?
Avatar n tn It seems the doctors are basing there opinion on X-rays. The pain is may likely due to spinal degeneration such as osteoarthritis effecting the cartilage and bone tissue of the joint parts, and this kind of deterioration of the backbone may generate neurological pain since the nerves of the joint parts are compressed. Hope this gives another perspective, and thank you for the question.
