osteoarthritis

272434 tn?1228607209 I also have carpal tunnel and I have osteoarthritis. Both very painful, and I also need surgery, and I told them not right now. I take a long time to heal, and that alone is enough for me not to have surgery. I also use splints at night, and I have had to cut back on my quilting, but I refuse to stop all together. The osteoarthritis I have in all of my joints as well as RA, I have a triple whammy.
Avatar m tn t go away. First of all I got bursitis in both shoulders, then tendonitis in both elbows and wrists. I now have tendonitis in both hips and pain In both knees which I haven't had looked at yet. I have had blood tests for arthritis, Osteoarthritis and connective tissue disorders. All came back clear. These were all reviewed by a specialist who said there was nothing he could see that could be causing the problems. So now I have no idea what to do??
Avatar f tn s of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis? I have terrible neck pain and headaches and numbness on left side of body.
Avatar f tn I am 27 and otherwise healthy. I have had soreness in my left thumb, and my Doctor said it was carpal tunnel. Suddenly it became so painful i could not move it, and the er doc. said it's dequervain's tendonitis. I have redness, swelling, and slight bruising, but no pain in my wrist. ( also there was no injury ) I have been wearing a splint and taking nsaid's for 3 days now with no improvement. Does anyone know what is wrong with my thumb?
415109 tn?1304890182 I had similiar episode 3 years ago with (L) that eventually required surgery and has never bothered me since. I did go through 3 injections prior to the surgery and each time it helped for a short time. I am leery of getting steroids as I know they can do more damage than good but I am oh so tired of this. I have not injured it that I know of although in Feb 07 I fell down a flight of stairs and broke 2 fingers in that hand so I am wondering if it is just arthritis from that??
2167803 tn?1338529751 Hi, I am not a dr. but have a lot of arthritis, but I have also had tendonitis and it might be that--the tight feeling. I know that unbearable pain. Do you have swelling? Have you done too much exercise lately? Does your low back hurt also?
Avatar f tn penetrating ulcer in stomach, pancreas, and frozen shoulder is a common cause for stiffness and pain in shoulder. This could also be a sign of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Consult an orthopaedician for assessment and a physician if there are no bony or cartilaginous causes found. Hope this helps. Take care.
4518471 tn?1355798857 There are two conditions which cause pain in a joint while at rest. One is arthritis, preferably osteoarthritis and the other is tendonitis. This is typically seen in osteoarthritis in initial stages. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
900662 tn?1469390305 PRP therapy offers a solution to accelerate healing of tendon injuries and osteoarthritis naturally without subjecting the patient to significant risk so your orthopedician is trying to heal your tendoachilles and as he had said surgery is the last option for you. There are many growth factors present in your blood, however cumulatively they accelerate tissue and wound healing so platelets rich plasma is given to accelerate growth. Take care!
Avatar m tn To start with both the knees need to be X-rayed, and RA factor and antinuclear antibody (ANA) levels detected in blood. If nothing is detected then MRI may be done. Take care!
Avatar f tn I know by now you may have resolved this issue, but after my first child, I had this kind of pain and it turned out to be pregnancy induced tendonitis. A hand doctor gave me a shot in each of the wrists and the pain went away in a few days.
Avatar n tn What causes joint pain and body aches and tendon aches and bottom of feet severely aching
650397 tn?1228831384 Going by your symptoms of multijoint involvement and age chances of arthritis(osteoarthritis and rheumatoid) are more. However confirmation can be done only after investigations like MRI scans, rheumatoid factor, serum uric acid,ESR,x-rays and bone scans. Avatar m tn I'm 41 years old, physically fit, have had numerous injuries over the years & live with severe chronic pain; Osteoarthritis and Tendonitis. I've been in recovery and sober for years. I have P.T.S.D. and have been told by doctors it's what causes my hyper-sexual ability that my girlfriend hates. With the exception of my pain my physical/ sexual health is fine.
604489 tn?1220023514 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and illiotibial band tendonitis. Do you exercise or run? If so, it could be ITB tendonitis.
Avatar m tn I was given an MRI about three weeks after dislocation and diagnosed with a small hill-Sachs lesion, strains of the joint capsule, and tendonitis. I am now able to move my arm in most directions, however when I flex my bicep my arm has a strong tremor. My grip has been tested and deemed normal and nobody has given me any theory as to what the dent is, or the tremor. While I am worried about both I am hopeful that the community can answer the longer standing issue.
Avatar f tn Need refills of lortab and compazine from pcp, feel like a druggie. Bilateral tendonitis, or what ortho said was tendonitis said i'm too young for arthritis, even though osteoarthritis was found throughout my spine. (I'm late 30's). Referred to second opinion for my wrists, hurts to do everything but pushing through, in tears by end of the day. History of IBD with surgery so NSAIDs hurt my stomach plus I have asthma which it exacerbates.
Avatar n tn At your mother’s age the things you should look at are calcium deficiency and Vit D deficiency along with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and probably gout too. The chronic pain in joints can be due to osteoporosis too. Menopause itself can cause joint aches and pains and responds well to hormone replacement therapy. It is normal for most people to feel the pain at night as this time all work is over and the aches and pains become more prominent.
Avatar f tn osteoarthritis, tendonitis, muscle pull and strain, femoral neck stress fractures, sports hernia or hidden/occult hernia of oblique aponeurosis, or Obturator or ilioinguinal nerve entrapment. You would need all or any of the following for diagnosis: Clinical examination by an orthopedic specialist, X-rays, blood tests, MRI or ultrasonnography. MRI of pelvis will not pick up hip pathology unless targeted at that. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn The pain and swelling in a single knuckle joint can be due to an old injury you do not remember. It can also be due to osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, infection of the joint, tendonitis or inflammation of a tendon, or bursitis (inflammation of the lining of joint). It is difficult to diagnose the cause on net. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn hi, I have end stage osteoarthritis of the left shoulder along with bicep tendonitis. Had a atroscopic cap release last year had tons of rehap before and after. The last month i noticed extra stiffness tingling down the inside of my arm to my fingers along with increased pain just wondering what this could be very hardto sleep at night.
203342 tn?1328737207 t want this to get worse and am worried because my grandmother and mother had osteoperosis and osteoarthritis and I just want to do what I can to get stronger and maybe even reverse things or at least keep things from getting worse. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
Avatar n tn The various causes are carpel tunnel syndrome, inflammation of the tendons of the arm due to repetitive work, lymphangitis, deep vein thrombosis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. You need to consult a doctor and rule these out by blood tests, X-rays, nerve conduction studies, rheumatoid factor, ESR, etc. Muscle injury causing the muscles to swell up can be diagnosed by enzymes transaminase (AST) and creatinine phosphokinase. Hope this helps.
1448748 tn?1312956208 The hip pain could be due to osteoarthritis, tendonitis, muscle pull and strain, femoral neck stress fractures, sports hernia or hidden/occult hernia of oblique aponeurosis, or Obturator or ilioinguinal nerve entrapment. You would need all or any of the following for diagnosis: Clinical examination by an orthopedic specialist, X-rays, blood tests, MRI or ultrasonography. Otherwise it can also be exacerbation of the spine problem since your last MRI.
Avatar f tn Of course, there are many things that can upset muscles. Overuse, arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, tendonitis...and the list goes on. So should you have unrelenting pain and know that you may have done something to cause an injury, it's best to seek a physicians help. Otherwise, if you are doing an activity and hurt a few hrs later or can't move the next day (lol) it's FMS. Take care and hope this helps explain it a little better for you.
Avatar f tn The first two were complete acl and miniscus (both sides of left meniscus) reconstructions and the second two were done in later years to remove further scar tissue and damaged meniscus that continued to get worse. I am now 9 years out from my initial acl reconstruction and my knee couldn't be feeling any worse. I have constant knee pain when sitting with my leg in a bent position, even lying in bed I at times am in discomfort. Standing from seating often causes me to wince in pain.
Avatar n tn When I was a short distance my upper thighs get so tired I have to stop and rest...the resting makes the pain go away if I stand there long enough but the pain comes right back when I begin walking again....it's a real tired and weak feeling pain...both thighs...any help would be much appreciated...thank you.
Avatar f tn I had a shoulder decompression and rotator cuff tear repair about 5 years ago, A few months ago I had a ultrasound which showed a full thickness tear, bursitis and osteoarthritis, went to see a ortho surgeon who then got me to have a MRI scan. The scan showed no tear but alot of fluid in the shoulder, he called it a angry shoulder? Is it possible for a MRI to be wrong? If not what is with the fluid in the shoulder? can someone please help.
