osteoarthritis

Avatar n tn Thank you! What is psoriatic arthritis?
Avatar f tn in my joints and spine) and I am only 58. Does osteoarthritis manifest like this? Are there different types of osteoarthritis, or is there a kind that is systemic? What causes osteoarthriti to become diffuse? (I also have stiff sore muscles and feel ill. It is hard for me to walk too long. My muscle symptoms are not diagnosed, and I hope someone can put the pieces together.) Thank you to anyone who can help me.
Avatar n tn I also have painful osteoarthritis in hips, knees, back and shoulder despite being young. If this is psoriasis I know it is connected to arthritis as I had a friend with both conditions. I also have endometriosis. I was blood tested for rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus but results were normal. I have often wondered if these spots were a sign of autoimmune problems.
Avatar m tn I have had blood tests for arthritis, Osteoarthritis and connective tissue disorders. All came back clear. These were all reviewed by a specialist who said there was nothing he could see that could be causing the problems. So now I have no idea what to do?? I am a 30 year old male however I feel like I'm 80. I haven't exercised in years due to my fragile joints. Can you shed some light on what may be causing these symptoms??
Avatar f tn Arrhythmia, gall bladder, sleep apnea, depression, itching, some bowel and bladder issues now and then, an outbreak of migraine one summer 12 years ago and another instance this month, and since late last month my blood pressure's been too high. I've also had some joint pain and swelling issues that I have always assumed is osteoarthritis. I didn't see anyone mention tremor. I guess that's more than half a dozen.
Avatar f tn I have severe pain on the joint of middle finger and slight swelling on the back of hand. Also neck, entire body pain mostly early morning.
Avatar m tn Psoriasis patients show signs of insulin resistance. Boehncke S, Thaci D, Beschmann H, Ludwig RJ, Ackermann H, Badenhoop K, Boehncke WH. BACKGROUND: Recent observations suggest that psoriasis is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery calcification which in turn represents an indicator for atherosclerosis. OBJECTIVE: To clarify a possible pathogenetic link between psoriasis and atherosclerosis, we studied the metabolic state of patients with psoriasis.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about any links between hepatitis C and psoriasis. I was diagnosed with Hep C 2 years ago (genotype 1a) and have not had any treatment. I recently have been diagnosed with psoriasis. Does Hepatitis C cause psoriasis?
Avatar f tn Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems, whether hormone or thyroid related.
Avatar m tn The osteoarthritis may progress slowly over time. Strengthening the muscles that support the neck and cervical spine may lesson symptoms of pain and discomfort. ~•~ Dr. Parks This answer is not intended as and does not substitute for medical advice. Avatar n tn That is one of the side-effects of imiquimod and it mainly strikes people whom are genetically prone to having psoriasis. It is known that an overactive immune system can trigger a site of psoriasis, and imiquimod invokes an immune response to have cytotoxins destroy skin cells. So now.... retinoid treatments are not helping, and the only other main treatment for psoriasis are corticosteroids which if I'm not mistaken are immunosuppressants lol..... are they not?
Avatar m tn It is a shame it is not already FDA approved to treat chronic pain conditions such as interstitial cystitis, osteoarthritis, aches and pains associated with aging... etc. Follow the money....once again.. .Please everyone see www.**********.com and watch the mini video series and you will see how we all age suffer, and die...and sadly, it is PREVENTABLE !!
Avatar m tn I have had many specific bloodtests and saw many doctors over the last few weeks. The only answer I was given was Psoriasis and dry skin. I believe this is more than just dry skin and Psoriasis.
