Avatar f tn What should i expect with this diagnosis? I have terrible neck pain and headaches and numbness on left side of body. I also have chiari malformation, ibs (surgery), asthma (pneumonia x1), and sinusitis (prior surgery). Should i see a rheumatologist?
Avatar m tn Does she have any other symptoms? Is she confused, does she lose her balance, does anything else hurt her, are her arms or legs also numb, is she having vision disturbances or having trouble speaking? If so, she should go the emergency room because if it's a stroke you don't want to wait on that.
Avatar m tn i have been having upper back and neck pain along with numbness in fingers and toes.
Avatar n tn I searched on google on what i should do but they all recommend that i should go see a doctor. I dont want to see any doctor at the moment, because its really hard driving outside in this weather. its about 8 inches of snow. Took me 30 minutes the other day trying to get out of my parking lot. Not my whole finger is numb. It just a small part of the my middle finger is numb. It has no pain, it has no white or red color. It just normal color. but i when i touch it its numb.
Avatar n tn The various causes are carpel tunnel syndrome, inflammation of the tendon of the hand due to repetitive work, gout, lymphangitis, deep vein thrombosis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. You need to consult a doctor and rule these out by blood tests, X-rays, nerve conduction studies, rheumatoid factor, ESR, etc. Since the thumb twitches uncontrollably, symptoms could be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. In this the median nerve is compressed at the wrist in a place called the carpel tunnel.
Avatar f tn When I stand or walk the left leg is weak and the bottom of my foot tingles and is painful. I get random numbness and tingling in my left hand, left side of my scalp and around the eye and lip. I just keep getting told I have this or that but not enough to cause these issues. (osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia) Just this week I have had this weird symptom show up. I keep getting this heat to my face and my cheeks turn red and hot, but it does go away so I dont think it is the Lupus butterfly thing.
Avatar f tn More recently though, I have developed a lot of numbness and tingling in my arms and hands... Sometimes this extends to my legs and feet. It's often worse at night when I will wake up with stiff elbows or knees which seem to be locked in a bent position and I have to slowly straighten them out. I wake up a lot with numb arms which feel heavy and tingly. This is also beginning to happen during the day, even when I am not leaning on that arm or leg.
Avatar f tn It started after I had an unusually long sleep and I woke up laying on my left side with numbness and pain in my left hip/thigh. This was 2 weeks ago. Ever since then I have been trying to avoid laying on my left side and it seems to help. However after I move in my sleep to my left side, I will wake up hours later in pain. Sleeping on it is the only cause of the numbness however, the numbness will last all of the next day but be less worse in the evenings then it is in the mornings.
Avatar m tn Regarding the numbness and and redness these symptoms seem to be connected, I never have one without the other and they appear suddenly together and suddenly vanish together within about 5 minutes of appearing. Do you have any idea what the correlation could be? Silverfox - Thank you for replying I am going to see a Dr to try and get this sorted!
4848471 tn?1372238752 I have had lumbar spinal stenosis, a hip replacement and have MS, the Trifecta! I'm not sure you can tell, except by process of elimination. I had a laminectomy to remedy the stenosis and a hip replacement to correct 80% bone on bone osteoarthritis.
Avatar f tn hi, I have end stage osteoarthritis of the left shoulder along with bicep tendonitis. Had a atroscopic cap release last year had tons of rehap before and after. The last month i noticed extra stiffness tingling down the inside of my arm to my fingers along with increased pain just wondering what this could be very hardto sleep at night.
Avatar n tn Finally after working 2 months with this the pain was to much, and was occompanied with partial numbness to the back of the right leg, *** to foot. The MRI came back: Mild dextroscoliosis of the lumbar spine is seen without acute fractures, Dislocations, lytic or blastic defections or congenital anomalies. The intervertebral disc spaces appear to be adequately maintained. There were no perivertebal soft tissue masses, calcifications or bone adnormalities. Mild facet hypertrophic changes.
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
1448748 tn?1312956208 I have had severe joint type pain since october that has gotten worse and worse since then and Ive tried physical therapy and I also had a sacro illiac joing injection that seemed to help after 5 days it seemed to help the low back area, but not the hips or legs, then after about 8-9 days I got a little bit of releif through my hips for about 3 days and then all of the pain came back... and now it seems as though I have another type of pain on top of it...
